Moral of the story, hard wire a GPS tracker with its own battery backup and set a geo fence before leaving
GPS is a one way broadcast system, it doesn't let you communicate back to the satilight. Also since they stole the car without starting it, disabling via a geo fence wouldn't have prevented them taking it. Systems with a prepaid cell sim card can send back a location each time you message them (if they can get GPS signal, which lots of covered trailers prevent AND its in an area with cell tower coverage), but despite numerous systems on the market there really isn't a magic bullet solution for GPS as theft prevention.
It shows now a days ya can’t trust no one I chain everything I have that would be stolen we’re I live they steal snowblowers anything that’s not chained down and I live in a little town in Canada more crackheads running around than you can imagine I’m in a place north east of Toronto great little town but the kids have nothing to do and end up doing no good I’ve got more locks and chains around my house I only have a little shed wish they would work for ther money but I guess drug addicts can’t work but also cars are different cars go missing every power tour ther is I believe it’s a shame you can’t go to a race or event and you have to worry about your car while you are tired guess thers a lot of money in car parts this guy was luckier than most
@@SheepInACart if you set up a geo fence, once tracker leaves boundaries, you get a notification, and if you miss it cause you partied too hard, you won't need kids to recognize your car. I wasn't meaning to say it prevents theft, but you will have a better chance of recovering your item
@@jeffleblanc8850 I feel your pain Texas isn't much better.
I built a concrete wall just to be able to enjoy my hard earned toys. But I check and see if all the parts are still there.
Ain't that a &$#@
Not even that man, just do the old school cool bonanza, custom fab a driveshaft with a pin. You put the pin in, it doesn't even so much as budge, thus deterring any co*ksu*ker from stealing your car. Take the pin out, it's a normal car. No thief will ever bother to move a car that has to be lifted, and if they lift your car, chances are they know about GPS systems and they will spoof them, which is easier than eating pie these days.
You should see what they do to top of the line BMWs and MERCs here. They come in pairs of two, one at the front, one near the receivers and they use (something, didn't bother to learn further what it was) and they suck up your car and it will never even know it wasn't you.
Cutting fingers for theft should be allowed.
.what does this prove? Nothing as far as I can tell
It proves they're having fun. Do they need any other reason?
A friend of mine had his completely restored 1930 ford A model can you tell me the facebook page i can post a pic of it.
The A model was stolen is what i was trying to say my mind was faster then my finger
It's in the description
Car thief’s just piss me off.. won’t go get a job and earn something nice, just go out and take it from someone who has and destroy it..
Probably the only time a stolen car was driven nicer by the thief than the legit owner!
Gotta love that supercharger whine on that Monte!
That's awesome the car came back. People can be s*** sometimes.
I'm stoked that the car was recovered, I'm even more stoked to see an Aussie style burnout 🤘😎🤘
I'm glad the guy got his car back, but this happens every year. People put thousands into these cars but don't even think about installing a tracking device
Ya the good gps trackers less than 250 they install them at the local buy here pay here car lot incase they have to repo
Hell even one of those Milwaukee trackers would even work
Of course Tony smoked the engine. He's cursed with killing engines.
If you have Motortrend you can see him bring it back twin turbo on Hotrod Garage
Amazing how nice Facebook is now if we could only get that type of comradery on UA-cam
So awesome Garrett go his car back. I’ve followed him for several years.
If those kids show up you need to give them a ride. 👍
Guy with the blower could do better then that😪......penn it!!💯😉
Awh cute. Look at your Americans trying to be like us Aussies. Now cut your skid pad in at least half and keep the throttle pinned like a real man 😊
BAAHAHAHAHHAHA WOULDNT BE TONY, IF TONY DIDNT FUCKIN BREAK IT!!!!
Great story that the Monte was recovered intact. Crazy burnout and fantastic video. Keep it up Rich and crew!
The thief heard that huffin and puffin under the hood and figured it was broken.
Glad dude got his car back.
That COE truck was AWESOME!
I wish I got it but I don't just seems stupid to me to pour all that money into a car and tires just to go 10 miles an hour and make a bunch of smoke.
Sweeeet COE, is it a '41? Or maybe a '42?
I'd love to see the Fairmont compete at the summernats event in Aussie
I really don't get the DRIFT thing... but whatever floats yer boat. That's a classic Monte Carlo. Very clean. Glad he got it back. The best thing was the GMC flatbed (cabover?) at the end. Sweet looking ride. Early '50's? I had a '57 Chevy pickup back in the early 70's that I pulled the 235 straight 6 from and dropped in a 327. The rear end was too short geared but it ran smooth. Left it in Montana when I went to NOLA. Some farmer near the Flathead Lake wanted it bad. Hope he took good care of it.
marscruz not drifting, burn out pit. Big in Australia, starting to take off here.
@@KJ-kw7gh OK. Now that you mention it, it did seem a little different. Drifting has some obstacles that you do a dance around or a really short oval, right? How do they score the driver? Either way you're wasting some rubber and making lots of smoke. Thanks for the clarification.
All i can say is get an alarm those old G bodies are really easy to steal
Glad they got the cars back... If we find out who stole them we need to tie them to the roof of the Malibu and do burnouts all day until they're so sunburnt they look like a tomato... Never blaspheme the car gods! Also, Tony Angelo trying to figure out that mask lol
Ls in a Fairmont 🙄
You don't need an LS to do a burnout,,,
My 460 in my pickup
Does burnouts just fine
1.5 miles to the gallon
willierepair One loosen the back brakes on my 300-6 and I’ll lay some rubber lol. Doesn’t look as nice under the hood all covered in leakin oil as an LS does tho
Thanks, but no need to... It's an f2shitty
Both wheels spin just fine....
Oil leaks are part of the game
willierepair One I’m running open diff so I can’t get both spinning to save my life lol
Weld er up.....
willierepair One thought about it. I want to put a lunchbox in it, it’s a pavement princess so I need the diff to function in the corners
I'm really start to enjoy your content
Wow, that guys car was HOT in ways he didn't even want it to be!
Who would have ever thought 25 years ago that early 80s G body cars would be this kind of hot commodity! I mean come on! Someone stole a 35 year old Chevy station wagon! Btw, that yellow wagon is cool as shit! I just couldn’t see it when I was 16 when that car was new!!
Point of the story is dont go to the ghetto and sleep in your hotrod
Never assume that when parked at a hotel you stuff is safe out there.
A hidden kill switch ,ignition disable ,fuel pump disable , starter disable ,GPS tracker w/hidden backup battery ,alarm system and perhaps a big german shephard dog sleeping inside might slow them thieves down a bit.
So you put all the money, time, blood, sweat and tears into building a beautiful car but don't put a security system in it? WTF?
At lest he can truly drive it like it's been stolen.
Someone stole a car in the middle of Power Tour, WTF. You can't even go have fun on a live drive.
Hey Aaron, when is the LS Merc video going to drop. Don't hurry, take your time. I'm sure you are doing it justice. Great work always.
GPS tracker ,oh man can't believe they spray bombed that Malibu wagon
I'm SPARTACUS!!!!!! That was great!!!!!!!!!! Sweet ride that Monte
We have trackers in ever car. They’re installed in a 3” by 3” box inside 1/4” thick steel with the antenna run out into the frame.
Chloe Hennessey cool idea! What brand of tracker do you recommend? I was thinking about viper alarm with gps
778tst We use EON 4G GPS assist modules. If you order in bulk they’ll give you a bit of a discount.
You John Hennessey's daughter or something?
Sans Freedom I don’t talk about family openly on UA-cam. Have a good day 💕🇺🇸
@@chloehennessey6813 Exactly what Hennessy's daughter _would_ say
Glad he got the car back. Never understood burnouts, any one can tramp the throttle and do a burnout, just seems to be useless.
I would rather like to see an actual race than to abuse and tear it up like that. All that meticulous work just to deliberately wreck it.
Awesome ! new upload 😬👍🏻
When those were new and not hot rods, we called them Super Slows. Glad the dude got his car back :)
Balance is achieved.
Need more limiter in those skids to compete with aussies.. getting there tho
Thought I saw you there! Looked like you were talking to somebody so I didn’t wanna bother ya
NICE THINGS FOR THE OZON THAT FUCKING UP YOUR RUBBER
That cab over build is as sweet as it gets! Love that truck!
That's awesome! Were any of the other cars recovered? never mind, I watched further lol. OF COURSE TONY broke something! I love the sound of superchargers BTW - Someday I will have one.
That was the most triggering thing I have seen in years
Oh man the Twinpala!!!
Rich can you get an external mic? Can barely hear the COE guy and that was probably the most interesting vehicle of them all! He had interesting stories! I must admit, watching DeAngelo flame out was funny.
Air horn, of course 📯😊
I have a 1980 Ford 460 engine for sale. Also have a dedicated C6 transmission for it as well. Anyone interested just give me a shout.
Air horn is best horn.
How did the cops not have your number when you reported it stolen?
Different jurisdiction that the one he reported it in. They would have possibly eventually got around to finding and contacting him, maybe
Well hear I am 130miles away and I had to miss LS fest. Missed seeing more than one Of the people I watch on U tube.
Damn that Monte is badass, love the sound of the super charger
2:10 I lost it
Thats why i have a killswitch on my old Chevy. it might crank but it wont start.
and i keep a spare colomn just in case.
Damn, this should have been thirty minutes long.
It's 2019 . Don't rely on cops to find stolen stuff, fit trackers, either GPS (not so good) or radio style (unbeatable) in a hidden place on the car, tractor, truck, airplane, earthmoving equipment ,tools etc etc .
Issue with radio style is the thieves can use the constant signal to find the trackers, and they get feedback when its disabled. Best approach is a couple of totally independent systems of differing types scattered around that you don't then go and tell everybody about. That said these won't stop theft, only aid recovery, and the damage is often already done by joyriding or burning the shell after pinching a few easy to grab parts.
wish i was in the us, a 300$ junkyard ls is madness here. prolly looking at 1500$ at the junkyard for a truck engine and 5000$+++ for a "new one" turn key crate.
Damn son! Go with the cheap crate engine for $5000!
In the US they start around $8,500 and go way up from there...
The fair monster is a beast
Wonder if mike musto ever found his monte?
Great video Deboss
All he needs is the later 80s mirrors on it and it'll be perfect! Had a 87 monte carlo LS with a ss wing and loved that car till this day. Miss it and want to build another.
It must have had a much newer engine swapped in. In 87 they had the old small block 305 with throttle body injection which was a fancy electric carburetor, but it was definitely a fun car! Especially in the 80s when everything was slow.
Where’s the 3.9 Tahoe?
Nice burn out
Please don’t dislike this video
Badass
Nice
Can have a $10k - $30k customecar but $100 column lock not so priceless.
Stealing a general motors. It just shows a smoking pot really does mess up somebody’s head
