    Damn shame! A motorcycle priced at well over $30,000 out the door, requires immediate modifications.

      Right you are. If Harley would have done what I did then they would call it CVO and add about 15k

      @@dadsgaragehd I noticed something small, but typical Harley when I looked at this bike. They require you to pay $1350 extra to get it blacked out. Check the saddlebag opener latch, chrome. I’m certain they can straighten that right out for you, for about $79. Just when I believe Harley can’t screw their loyal customers any worse, they manage to take the screwing to a new low!

    Question did you go with volunteer audio(JAY)rear speakers harness. Or did you go with the Harley-Davidson rear harness hook up. I have the same setup that you have wow, and I didn’t see this video until now. Hertz outstanding, you are so right can’t wait until Jay comes out with that 1000 watts amp. Your bike looks great nice

      @zacharyrucker2588 Thanks for watching my video.
      Yes I bought the Volunteer speaker harness (front to back), speaker harness (to the bags) the 6.5” and 6x9’s speakers.
      Went to Harley for the 500 watt amp, new grills front and back, new color matched speaker lids. One of cool things was not having to drill (2) 2-3/4” holes for the Rockford fosgate/harley speaker harness. With the volunteer option it’s (1) 5/8” hole and they provide a grommet to run speaker wires to thr saddlebags.
      The links are in my description and Jay has some good videos on his installations.
      Thanks for the compliment on the bike. I am sure enjoying it. Already got about 4k miles since April! And I have a full time job. lol.

      It sounds good. Especially with the 13.5” Klock werks with the visor open And the shade down (neotech II). You can hear it with all closed but you can make the case for the larger amp once it’s available. Thanks for the comment and watching my video

    I have the same speakers (all4) from Jay. I have a cvo road glide but I am waiting for his hertz amp. I most likely have the amp u just installed. I personally think you should have waited. But that's me. I'm waiting for Jay's new amp.

    • @dadsgaragehd
      @dadsgaragehd  3 місяці тому

      Hey Stuart. The hertz speakers are great products. I couldn’t wait because of
      The stock 200 watt amp that comes on the standard road glides wouldn’t power the speakers. At least on the CVO you had the 500 watt from HD.
      I too, am waiting on the amp to plug and play when that happens. I’ll weight cost but everything I have done to the system has been prepped for the bigger amp. Thanks for the comment and for watching.

      Thanks for the quick response. I am patiently waiting for Jay's Amp. I have issues with the stock Amp I have. I think it's defective. Constantly have to pull out the fuse and reboot it. If I wasn't planning to upgrade I'd be asking HD for a new one. Anyways good luck with it. The herz speakers are amazing.

    I notice this is the first video you have posted with your highway pegs mounted.
    How do you like them?
    They look great. Perfect match for the floorboards and passenger pegs.
    Are they from Harley? Or aftermarket?
    Can you mention them in an upcoming video and maybe post a link for them.

    I bought the rf500 amp at the dealer they said I need to run rf speakers or I won’t be able to tell the difference did you have to do any modifications to the rf500? To be able to use hertz

      @dadsgaragehd  Місяць тому

      @@orlandossanchez9541 no. The 6.5 “ front speakers are better than RF’s and were plug and play. The rear 6x9’s (lid speakers) had to be altered to fit the Harley speaker lids. Jay does that at Volunteer Audio and sells those pair. I did have to run a new dedicated speaker harness that runs from the headlight, up under the tank and under the seat and jay sold me the speaker wiring. Plug and play up front and swapped the 200 watt stock with the 500

    What made you not go with the Harley Stage II speakers?

    • @dadsgaragehd
      @dadsgaragehd  3 місяці тому

      Hey robc5740. I went with the Hertz because i had used them before on another build. I talked with Jay and Volunteer Audio, who has assisted me with previous systems, and he suggested to get my moneys worth to go with the Hertz 6.5's and 6 x 9's. I have had both of these same speakers and they can take more power than the RF Stage II and III speakers. As soon as the 1000 watt amp comes out from VA, all i have to do is run a power wire to the battery and hook up the amp to have a complete 1000 watt system.
      It sounds pretty amazing now. The video with you tube copyright free music does not do it justice. thanks for watching!!

      Good morning -
      Thanks for the quick response.
      I run the Hertz Mille Pro on my Streetglide with a Alpine PDX F6.
      Having recently purchased the 2024 Roadglide very disappointed with the sound system.
      Went to a local dealer to hear the CVO with upper speakers only that was powered by the Rockford Fosgate 500 watt amp.
      Thinking that's going to be my solution to the lack luster sound quality.

    • @dadsgaragehd
      @dadsgaragehd  4 місяці тому +1

      @@dippa1965 my opinion is do the research. If you are stopping with just the front speakers get the Hertz 165 neo’s from Volunteer audio. That and adjustment to the custom setting made a world of difference, but if you intend on making it where you can hear it going down the road at highway speed I recommend including the 6 x 9 speakers.
      It’s all preference on where you want the train to stop. Hope that helps but the Vol Audio Videos helped a lot.

    • @dadsgaragehd
      @dadsgaragehd  4 місяці тому

      I already had the two from Hertz 6-1/2” speakers so i needed something to push them. After that, I don’t everything that I would have to do to install Jays amp. Ordered the bag lids from Harley, the 6x9’s and speaker harness from Jay and put it all together. When the amp
      Is out of R&D then I’m just plug and play.
      In the meantime, I’ve already got a good enough system without the bigger amp.

      How did the hertz speakers sound with the stock 200 watt amp

    • @dadsgaragehd
      @dadsgaragehd  3 місяці тому +1

      @@orlandossanchez9541 I didnt use the 200 watt for the front Hertz speakers. The amp wouldnt have been powerful enough to analyze. If you can swing both the RF500 Watt Amp and the 6.5" front replacement speakers, it will be so much better than the stock on the 24's. Now if your pre 24, then Volunteer Audio has some real reasonable solutions for amp/speaker systems. thanks for the comment and watching my video.
