I have a 2 gal hand carry sprayer that has the pump, but I drilled a hole in the top side and put an air valve in it. Now I use my air compressor to pump it up to 60 psi and I never have to pump it. 2 gallons isn't too heavy because it sprays fast and efficiently so doesn't stay full for long.
The new rechargeable battery powered (2 gal ideal) works amazing. 60 years of experience and this is one of the best products I have ever used. Mostly used for small yards up to a couple of acres. Cost to benefit is in my opinion most effective, Those of you with bigger yards will probably have to go big commercial type equipment. My old man opinion.
I took a high school student's old backpack strapped it to this model backpack sprayer. Then using some pine-straw baling cord I tied the top and bottom of the backpack to the sprayer body. In order to spread the pressure of the straps on the top of the shoulders, I place a folded in half (so that the top and toe of the sock are touching) heavy athletic sock on each shoulder before putting on the sprayer. Making sure that each sock is properly placed under each strap before completely tightening the straps. It makes a world of difference in reducing shoulder fatigue.
appreciate your review. just bought one and was curious what others thought about it. Could probably add velcro along with padding to straps and enhance comfort level.
For the sale price of $20 you can't beat it. Filling it only half way makes it easy to refill and much easier to handle. If I fill it completely I set it on a table first. I have a pro model and this one for different chemicals. About to pick up a 3rd. Great design. Builds pressure quick and has decent spray for a cheap nozzle. Can easily upgrade the wand adapted from another sprayer which I do on many of them. Terrible harness design. Planning to rig something else up from my collection of webbing straps and buckles. Always remember to empty completely before winter freeze.
Just purchased one at harbor fright and used first time today worked great Make sure all fittings are snugged up tight or will have leak issue over all i was very impressed with it And for the price id say hard to find a better one If you fill to 4 pounds it is quite a load but not to bad 40 pounds full to 4 pounds I would recommend for light duty spraying jobs
That thing looks INCREDIBLY uncomfortable. I bought a Groundwork electric backpack sprayer from Tractor Supply. It works awesome, has wide, soft straps and a very comfy back pad. I love it!
I bought mine, replaced the wand but neglected to replace the pos cheap strap clips. So with 4 gallons of blue dye tinted mix I went to put it on and both clips break while lifting it. It crashes to the road in front of my clients home, top pops right off and blue dyed liquid everywhere. Hurriedly stand it up only to find the piston had punched out a 2 inch round hole in the bottom of plastic tank and it completely emptied contents. It will take a week or more for that temporary dye stain to fade in front of clients gate controlled restricted community neighborhood. In other words if you have to rebuild and replace most of this pos product to make it usable.. *Here's Your Sign* ../ Jeff Foxworthy
hitech98 Got one yesterday. Put 3 gallons of water in it to try out. Went to take it off and one of the hooks that go on bottom broke. Already useless and sounds dangerous with hoses busting near head area. Taking back.
Same situation... blue Lazer dye and prodiamine mix. Lift it and crap strap clips were not secure and takes falls - I caught it about knee high but landed on garage floor breaking one clip - first 5 mins of use. I had to rig the straps without clips - pumped constantly then within one hour the fan spray tip clogged and blew completely off the end. I pieced it back together - otherwise it seemed to balance well on my back. POS for sure.
@@jeffersononetwo agreed those clips are garbage. If you loop the strap through the hole without the clips and just use that goofy looking buckle to route back through, it's much stronger. Of course, here we are a year later and I doubt this POS lasted that year.
@@Paul0580 I think I took it back for a replacement - they may have given me one, I'm not sure - but I know it was so bad it went into the trash. I bought a Stihl backpack sprayer and it works just fine.
Just bought one and wish you'd spent more time on "part: 50, 51, 52" flat ring, separator sprayer, whatever it was. All the little 'o' rings and flat washers are hard to distinguish in the parts diagram. How about going through complete nozzle to wand assembly? Thanks for posting.
Thanks for a great vid. Was wondering if the hose/wand is of a length adequate enough if you were to use it standing on the ground as a camping shower?
Mine worked well for a little while. Then it started leaking at the bottom-- probably form the pump assembly. Leaked the stinky Tri-Mec on my garage floor until the sprayer was empty. How to repair?
I have purchased 4 of these sprayers because they were the last expensive however, everyone of them has had a burst hose after just a few weeks of use. Very cheap and inadequate quality hose. It caused me to accidentally douse myself with roundup or caused a spill where it was not wanted as well as delays in the yard work calendar. there is no "customer support"and to date I cannot find replacement parts for the hose.
The second one broke as I was placing it on my back! Very disappointed... On the jobsite, in front of the homeowner I was working for. Very embarrassing!
Just opened my new 4 gal backpack sprayer. When pumping up the pressure in the tank it begins to leak from the pump just under where the hose connects to the pump. I have tighten it but still leaks. Any suggestions how to fix
I would like to know how well that clip on strap stays on the sprayer as your putting the backpack sprayer on???....I just bought one yesterday from Harbor freight....I got it all together but half of it was already assembled. I took notice that the top of the box was taped up & i mentioned it at the cash register but they said it must of been taped when unloading the trucks....From viewing the video my hoses was not inside the sprayer, they was already assembled...Im gonna try it out sometime today to see how well it works. So far the only thing i took notice was the strap that has the clip on end likes to pop off when putting the unit on your back!....I was thinking about cutting a slot, run the strap through the slot, put on the clip so it wont come out the fabricated slot...Just like its assembled on the other side of the sprayer!
John Fisher came to ask the same. He apparently just “snapped” his in. Mine has a D ring on both straps as well as some little hook that doesn’t really hook into the slots at the bottom. I haven’t been able to use it yet because of his. Instruction book has nothing.
@@sideburns2009 the D rings are for tightening the straps. The other clip just slips over the bottom lip on the side. Mine keeps jumping off the lip. I don't know why they didn't put a slit in the side like the one on the other side. I may try that once my 90 day warranty expires.
+Bryan S It works alright, but take 1-2 weeks before seeing results, but does kill the weeds. Mixing can be found on their website, think it's 2oz /gallon of water.
Bryan S i use the same product and i use 2 oz of weed killer to 1 1/2 to 2 gallon of water.....They want you to use 4 oz but i use 2 oz. It might take alittle longer like dial2fast had mentioned but you get the same results!
A cheap piece of junk considering my experience over the years! I have been using pump sprayers on my farms for 35+ years. The pump cylinder jacks off to the side (inside the tank) and is a pain to reset and seldom lasts more than 3 to 5 strokes. Spend you money on a better engineered product or give this one to your worrisome neighbor who is always asking to borrow your "stuff". I have 2 and each one has failed in the same way!!
I have bought 3 of them over the years, one was stolen by a renter, I then bought one for myself and one for my wife. One little problem, PARTS!!!! Where the hell can I get PARTS when they break. The hose broke at the spray valve connection and Harbor Freight doesn't stock parts for them. Great product for the price but unless I can get replacement PARTS these are useless items.
Not happy with the pump being inside the tanks. A lot of people down Stijl because it’s not American made yet they come up with brilliant ideas like installing the pump outside the tank so it can actually hold corrosive chemicals without messing up the pump in 24 hours and have to re lubricate the petroleum jelly won’t hold up to corrosive chemicals. Definitely not a versatile sprayer and only good for water base fertilizers 👎👎👎
You know it is illegal to spray without the required PPE gear explained on the bottle of the chemical that you are using. Even in a residential application it is required to use said gear. Most of them require long sleeve shirt, pants, socks, water proofing footwear, and so forth. Just thought i would mention it since most states have a fine for not obeying the requirements of the chemicals. Most people dont bother with it because there is not a lot of enforcement but you are on video so it may be worth looking at.

Their toll free number can get you the replacement parts. I ordered some today.
Thanks for a great vid. Was wondering if the hose/wand is of a length adequate enough if you were to use it standing on the ground as a camping shower?
I don't think it's long enough to use as a shower to stretch from the ground to your head.
Hi, is there a wand extension that fits this sprayer? Thank you.
What about all those pieces on the bag are those extra pieces for what?
Such great review. I really appreciate it. Thank you.
Just put a couple of lengths of foam pipe insulation around the straps and it is much more comfortable.
I have bought a total of 2, same issue. Poor design where the strap attaches to the base. If they were to redesign that it would be awesome!!!
Thanks for the review, have you tried it with paint? Do you think itll hold up?
The suction tube is inside the pump?
Great detailed video. Thank you
If I still have a gallon of product in it how do I depressirize the cylinder without emptying the tank? Thank you.
Great video Glad you shared thanks 🙏🏻
That was a pretty good video, how much did it cost?...Great Job!!
What’s the distance on this sprayer? If your using the single nozzle
What the reason for the strainer?
I'm ordering car seat belt cushions to add to the straps.
The straps will rot right off the sprayer sitting in your garage... Issues include leakage if you do get some use out of it.

But can it handle bleach? Can’t find this information anywhere
What straps do you recommend?
What are the contents inside the bag that that come with the spray tips?
Replacement parts
Would this work good for fence stain?
No, the spray output is not good for even spraying.
let me know if it lasts longer than 2 weeks
cool, more lawn equipment reviews please!

@@dial2fast did you ever do the follow up?
Will definitely leak out of the box. Be sure to tighten all the fittings. Seems like they should have it ready to go.
how far does it spray?
How is your sprayer holding up so far?
Very good, still using it

How did you like that particular weed and grass killer and what was your mixing ratio? Nice video by the way😉
