These were built for Jim Moran a car dealer and Toyota distributor in Florida and the south east United States, I worked for him in the late 80’s early 90’s and he was Feadships largest individual customer. I believe he built 6 or 8 additional yachts thru them and while he was alive he never sold any of his ships …. All were named The Gallant Lady and ranged from the 87’s here up to about 160 or 175 feet back in the 80’s and 90’s. He was a great man to work for as well always treated his people or as he called us “associates” very well.
As a kid I fished off the sister vessel (Toy Won) many times. Toy Won was owned by a very wealthy Toyota dealer whos son happened to be one of my best high school buddies. They also had a 70’ Rybo parked right behind the fed ship. The scene would play out like this. on any given Friday at lunch break My buddy would ask our friend group if we wanted to go fishing. He’d then call his captain and ask him to get the boat ready we want to go fishing. After school we’d all show up at the house get on the boat and go to Bimini and fish all night into the morning. After that we’d pass out and wale up at the dock. It was an amazing life as a kid…

Totally BAD ASS! Nice wood work all around. New respect for the Feadship yard. When Rico was in the crows nest, he was above the 2nd floor of the house next door.
This gets my mojo going, baby, what an absolute unit... This as a swanky bachelor pad, even if you took the tower down, what a perfect boat for Florida, keys, and Bahamas.. And those twin cats.. I don't think I'd change a single thing... An absolute beast for offshore cruising

I like! Clean. Well maintained. The engine room was immaculate. The view from the crows nest was great. If it weren’t for my bad hip, I’d have no qualms climbing up there.
We definitely had garbage disposals in Southern California in the 1960s, when I was a kid. Dishwashers too. I would put an interior staircase to the bridge, get rid of the tuna tower, and use the boat as an explorer yacht. Add a hydraulic swim platform, put a crane/davit in the cockpit and store a tender there for long passages, otherwise on the swim platform. Have higher side rails installed, and a watertight door from the salon to the bow. Remove the tender from the bow. Thanks you guys, very interesting boat and a great walkthrough.
@ We had windows, but you had to close the wooden shutters at night because glass wasn’t invented yet. Storage/closets weren’t invented until the early 2,000s.
this is Michael from Tulsa, I believe its for scaling fish. sorry, the hatches above the fridges in the cockpit. I love u guys! i always enjoy watching all ur videos.
As a farm kid I had to climb the 70 ft grain silos all the time, including carrying tools sometimes. I always challenged myself on how high I could climb not using my arms. And those ladders were 90 degrees straight up. I could typically get half way no problem. It was all about speed. The faster you go up, the easier it is to stay verticle.
That is a beauty……wow 1985 ! The lines remind me of an old Egg Harbor sport fish, but don’t think they made them that length. Very proud of Victoria walking down the side to the bow ! 👍🥰
I was a regular marine electronics on one of these back in the late 90s. On the bridge, in the chart plotter cabinets, were big CRT radar displays. That was a few years ago. Everything on the bridge is bringing back memories. The colors in the salon are the same colors as I remember. Might be the same boat. Amazing. Refit time is about the same as the one I worked on.
My favorite, everyday watch, a Patek Philippe Grand Complications, says it's Friday, the 17th of January, so that means the nautiuniverse is back in balance. 🤔😉🤭🤣🤣🤣 Hope you two are doing well. Thanks for sharing another great video.
Team Rico here. I couldnt physically climb to that crows nest currently, but, once I get new prosthetic legs I would definitely try! I cant wait to get some legs, haven't walked in years 😭. Once I can I'm making it a mission to meet you 2 as well, and, I'd absolutely love to tour a yacht with you. The only chance I'd ever get would likely be at a boat show, but, I'm making it happen. After I hooked you up with the impossible dream catamaran people, and, you actually toured it, you 2 will always have a place in my heart. Take care 💚
I don’t like fishing at all but I love this yacht. I’d probably remove or at least completely ignore the crows nest but I love the elevated helm, and the look of the ship. Brilliant live aboard, if it also has decent range, and can deal with a little bit of weather, it’d be almost perfect!
I can tell you from experience on a 65' sportfish with a very tall fly, it gets REALLY bad up there in bad sea conditions. You better be holding on with everything you got, or be harnessed in, because the top of those things can swing 10-15' side to side very easily.
@I-am-awayTOM maybe both! In bad sea conditions, and without a Seakeeper, you would be hard pressed to even climb the ladder holding a beer, much less be able to have a free hand to drink one while up there. Even more fun is being on top of a 65'+ sailboat mast in a huge beam sea! Those things can swing 40' or more, and do so VERY fast. I had to replace a line on a Catalina 425 once in some nasty shit, and it was one hell of a ride the whole time!!!
Yes on the Crows Nest. I found out when I was in Airborne School in 87 that I was terrified of heights! And here I am 33 jumps later. I normally do not care for sport fishers, but this one is cool. Great live aboard for someone who wants to go out a little.
What a Boat! By far my favorite of any I’ve seen in many, many years! It’s a Bucket List Boat that you dream of of owning or even going for a ride! Thank you for the Tour!

Drinks to the crow's nest? Electric elevation device or pneumatic lift, like a Pneumatic tube system, and send your beer straight up! Watch the pressure though, or you'll have beer in orbit. The ISS won't mind. Rico was right, beautiful view! Victoria, why didn't you just walk up the dock, instead of crawling along the bulwarks? I don't think this will work for bass fishin', but, hell, I'm willing to try! Beautiful boat guys, thank you!
Hey guys! I was big on fishing as a kid. I find a quality grocery store a better choice for me at 70...from live tanks of lobster to Mrs. Paul's fish sticks! :) FYI - The garbage disposal was invented in 1927 by John W. Hammes, an architect from Racine, Wisconsin. He patented the device in 1935, and it became available to the public in 1940. Now you know! Be well and happy as you live the adventure of your life together, Duke, just another old hippie :)
I think it's fair to say that you two might be the most authentically happy couple on the UA-cams. You always look great, i've never seen you not 'chirpy', and I feel like you are actually talking to me. Looking forward to the tour of your finished boat and Victoria pointing out all the storage.
I can’t imagine running that boat, and fishing that magnificent vessel is good for any ocean. So that it has been donated to a foundation pretending to save the ocean is ironic. These foundations are always set up to avoid paying the taxes on the sale, and taking the losses and getting tax credits. Nevertheless it’s a two of a kind terrific boat and in pristine conditions for a 1984 build. Very nice. If I had the room, I would be interested
It’s like a Converse High Top, with that teak toecap. So much potential. I’d go up to the crow’s nest. Not sure about the descent after sundowners, though. Great video. Thanks
I was tied up next to one of the "Gallant Lady" sportfish boats but not sure if it was this one. She was on my port side at the end of E-dock at Bahia Mar. There was only one fighting chair and no crew slept onboard. This would have been the late 80's or early 90's. I didn't know they built two of them. My father skippered a Feadship for most of his career so he knew many of the owners.
Heck yeah, this is the type of vessel I love seeing! 🐟🎣 I think the storage on the back is for whatever you want lol. Thanks for showing this beauty Victoria and Rico!
Not just a bucket. This is not a dinghy. You get a small ice chest. You create an insert for the top, inside, that has cup holders and holes for bottles, and you fill the bottom with ice. You rig two pullies, one for each side, attached to the handles on either side of the ice chest. You might actually want 3 or 4 attachments, to keep it mostly level as it goes up and down.
This is a serious sport fisher! This boat was lounched during the time when my interests in pleasure boats and yachts were at their peak. I remember very well the Gallant Ladies, especially one with an enormous atrium with towering windows on its sides! I then wanted to be a Naval Architect, and now in my 60s I still aspire to acquire the descipline!
The most beautiful boat you have toured. The best word I can use is 'graceful'. 😊 All those mirrors in the staterooms make them appear really spacious. Without the mirrors, the rooms would seem really cramped. One more thing I would like is some sort of stair or ladder between the bridge and salon, to allow movement out of weather.
The dual opening sliding doors into the salon is an interesting design feature, and easy enough to do. I like weather tight doors on all external openings, but for this vintage yacht, it's a nice feature and fits right in.
Perfect boat for a vacation home on the water……..! Classic wood styling with a little modern touch. Love the upper level for a cigar and a peaceful view. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The sistership spent a stint as "Patriot" I believe owned by the founder of Boston Dynamics and recently sold in 2022. Went through an amazing refit and was absolutely spotless. Gives an idea of what this vessels potential is. This one looks to be a bit rough shape in the mechanical and exterior spaces at this point in time. Will take some love and a deep pocketbook to restore/maintain.
Now that's a gorgeous yacht. In 2005/2006 they spent over $10M in a retrofit and rebuild, starting with a bare hull. I think she sold for about half that in 2022. Has stabilizers, sound proofing, new equipment and pretty much everything upgraded or replaced new. That kinda gives you an idea of what it would cost to make this yacht comparable, as well as the amount of depreciated value that occurs over time. In this case, almost $1M per year. She's still a good buy, especially for someone who can handle the refurb, or, if you are cheap like me, just use her like she is. 🤔🤷🤦👍👌
@@NautiStyles Yes, but could you put on the bait fish on the hook for my wife and take the catch off the hook for my wife. I would, but it would be very hard for me as I'd be up with the sea god's looking down.
Stunning sport boat! It packed with luxury space I can imagine it being a live aboard for someone who loves fishing and wants to have the luxury and space of a big yacht that they can just go anywhere with. I would spend a lit of time on the crows nest, the view is amazing and only a few people would want to com up there and bother you ...
I spent a handful of weeks on this boat in the late 90's and early 00's. The boat was named Comanche then and it was owned by a very generous Toyota exec from Texas. The sister ship was owned by Jim Moran in Florida. The Captain of Comanche was named "Captain Bob" and he was a legend. He had all sorts of great stories to tell... One included a group he took fishing that came back empty handed. The disgruntled fisherman instructed Capt. Bob to pull up a lobster pot so he would not go home without something fresh to eat. As you might be thinking, this is not an acceptable thing to do, so Bob was quite reluctant, but in the end he had to do what the client was demanding. When the lobster pot got on board, the client took two lobsters out and shoved a Ziplock Bag inside with two $100 bills and then threw it back in the water. Having made amends for his transgression, everyone went home happy, but we all wish we could have seen the look on the Lobsterman's face when he pulled up that trap! That's probably a story he still tells his friends too. So many good memories aboard this boat. I've jumped off the top of that Tuna Tower once (once was enough). We nearly ripped the ferry wharf apart in Edgartown while trying to dock one evening as the port side got caught in the current and the bow thruster could not keep up. The dockline snapped and I'll let you know it was a thick dock line. Thankfully no one got hurt. She's a lovely super yacht, if not perhaps a little too big to be an ideal deep sea fishing boat, but certainly luxurious inside. It had a very expensive bottom paint with silver and gold tuna painted all across the bottom (or at least it did once). And the mirror in the master cabin was fun too :) I hope this boat goes to an owner who will enjoy her as much as we did - and I hope Capt. Bob goes with her!
28:26 nice timeless and classy Design. I the 80's when i was a Teenager my Interest for Yachts began. In this Time a great Name was Jon Bannenberg. I know i am Old ....
I'd have no problem climbing the tuna tower but I do agree with Rico's comment regarding drinks. I wouldn't want to be up there too long without drinks or snacks. I bet there a system could be rigged to attach a little dolly to the inside of the ladder. The other option would be to create some sort of backpack/cooler combo. Even carrying a little Playmate type cooler, it wouldn't be very safe climbing that ladder at sea.
What a great boat. The engine room is fantastic. Would definitely have to have a gyro stabilizer on this one. The crows nest ? One of the USN Destroyers i was stationed on i had to climb the forward mast . To replace the ships horn located near the top of the forward mast on a very small mast extension. My knees were knocking and ass cheeks puckered up the whole time. So crows nest, NOT for me. As always great job, love you guys.
The engine room is amazing on this boat. ❤❤ It would be tempting to make an offer at this low price. The downside is filling the fuel tanks for fishing trips is ultra expensive.
I saw the live bait wells but didn't see any catch storage! Where were the fish boxes?! They usually are in the cockpit soles, or was this boat different in this respect from the typical sport fisher! I certainly loved that tuner tower!
Didn't expect this from Netherlands boat builder. Looks definitely 'US' in it's towering flybridge and observation deck. Good tour thank you Victoria and Rico 👍👍
It was specifically built for an experienced American businessman and his wife. Because of the expense of the engineering and design for what was a new custom vessel, they had to buy two identical yachts.
Awesome looking, antique(now, it is 40 years old), boat..However - that crows nest would have to go if I were to get this boat...Doesn't look like it would take much to remove it...Plus , in my opinion, it just looks UGLY...Other then that the interior looks truly absolutely fantastic! And wow, what a huge, well equipped engine room! So, yeah, ditch the crows nest and this would be a PERFECT live aboard! Awesome tour, thanks Victoria and Rico!
From Australia, Hawksberry River.. Definitely the Upper Cockpit for Sundowners, and the spot where Victoria was sitting facing aft, what a beautiful View... As mentioned by Rico, bucket full of drinks and pulley it to the top.. Great Yacht... Thank You Both 💜👍🏼

Need's a bit of TLC, but God that's a big boat. I love the looks of a classic Sport-fisher. It's probably a good thing I have no money anymore.
We all need a little TLC from time to time 😂
No money anymore?
@@NautiStylesI prefer the TLC on a daily basis. 🤷🤭😉
Another timeless classic yacht! ❤ A forever thank you for the video of this great lady 😊
You're very welcome! 🛥️
Before I forget, yes, I would go up to the tuna tower control station...with a very big smile 😀
🙌🏼
I think it's fair to say that you two might be the most authentically happy couple on the UA-cams. You always look great, i've never seen you not 'chirpy', and I feel like you are actually talking to me. Looking forward to the tour of your finished boat and Victoria pointing out all the storage.
Awww thank you so much for the kind words
I can’t imagine running that boat, and fishing that magnificent vessel is good for any ocean. So that it has been donated to a foundation pretending to save the ocean is ironic. These foundations are always set up to avoid paying the taxes on the sale, and taking the losses and getting tax credits. Nevertheless it’s a two of a kind terrific boat and in pristine conditions for a 1984 build. Very nice. If I had the room, I would be interested
Sport fishing encourages ocean appreciation. Industrial trawling... less so.
@ I’m a avid offshore fisherman, I just love it 😍
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Do you guys know what they are asking price wise for the boat.
It’s like a Converse High Top, with that teak toecap. So much potential. I’d go up to the crow’s nest. Not sure about the descent after sundowners, though. Great video. Thanks
Easy going up, scary coming down hahahaha
It’s queen of deep sea fishing sport fishers !
😂 😝
@@NautiStyles do you know if Jim Moran was the one who had this boat built I was on board when it was brand new if that's his ?
Beautiful vessel! I love the wood and marble throughout.
It's all in the details! 😎
Cool fishing boat
Enjoy the tour!
I'm in love! I always wanted a crows nest on my boat and a full helm as well I'm smitten.
It's a beauty isn't it?
Team Rico OFC! who in their right mind could pass up the experience of that view! Amazing!!!!
👌🏼
I was tied up next to one of the "Gallant Lady" sportfish boats but not sure if it was this one. She was on my port side at the end of E-dock at Bahia Mar. There was only one fighting chair and no crew slept onboard. This would have been the late 80's or early 90's. I didn't know they built two of them. My father skippered a Feadship for most of his career so he knew many of the owners.
super
team Rico 100%
👌🏼
Heck yeah, this is the type of vessel I love seeing! 🐟🎣 I think the storage on the back is for whatever you want lol. Thanks for showing this beauty Victoria and Rico!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the tour.
Put ur drink ingredients in a backpack!
Great idea!! Don’t fall off now 😂
Not just a bucket.
😂 That would make for a good DIY video! ⚓️
🙏
1985 great for music aswell 😊 lovely boat and a very good tour u both 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
The most beautiful boat you have toured. The best word I can use is 'graceful'. 😊
All those mirrors in the staterooms make them appear really spacious. Without the mirrors, the rooms would seem really cramped.
One more thing I would like is some sort of stair or ladder between the bridge and salon, to allow movement out of weather.
thanks for sharing
The dual opening sliding doors into the salon is an interesting design feature, and easy enough to do. I like weather tight doors on all external openings, but for this vintage yacht, it's a nice feature and fits right in.
Totally agree!
Perfect boat for a vacation home on the water……..! Classic wood styling with a little modern touch. Love the upper level for a cigar and a peaceful view. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
👌🏼
@ love your channel
Thanks for sharing your opinion 🙏
Thanks for the tour of this interesting boat. What type of fish would this hunter be after?
All kinds of fish!! Depends where you’re at
Great question!! Large and deep, like billfish and tuna, sharks too. 🐟🦈
What Navy said 😝
On a side note, have you guys ever considered coming to the Toronto International Boat Show (TIBS)?
when is the show?
I love how Rico backed into the engine room and the sp0lash screen said "But First" I just thought, "Yep he sure is".
😂 😝
Great walk through and a very nice yacht. Fishing and cruising the Caribbean with this would be perfect. Excellent for fishing charters
The perfect life, wouldn't you agree? 🛥️
@@NautiStyles Yes, but could you put on the bait fish on the hook for my wife and take the catch off the hook for my wife. I would, but it would be very hard for me as I'd be up with the sea god's looking down.
Sounds like a plan 😂
Stunning sport boat! It packed with luxury space I can imagine it being a live aboard for someone who loves fishing and wants to have the luxury and space of a big yacht that they can just go anywhere with.
I would spend a lit of time on the crows nest, the view is amazing and only a few people would want to com up there and bother you ...
The crow’s nest is the best place to relax and escape!
Just need a barco lounger, cooler, grill, black and white TV and Florida Man would be a happy boater. Oh, and don't forget the bucket and tp. 🤭🤷😳🤦🤦🤦
@@NautiStylesHow did you get the camera up there? 🤔🤷❔
😝 😂 🤫
@@NautiStyles Must be magic. I knew it. 🪄🙏
Time for my Nauti Coffee. Let's see what they're serving up today. It's going to be a great day.
Sit down & enjoy! 😊
@@NautiStylesI always do. I'm glad that I'm able to now.
😂 young at heart
I'd have no problem climbing the tuna tower but I do agree with Rico's comment regarding drinks. I wouldn't want to be up there too long without drinks or snacks. I bet there a system could be rigged to attach a little dolly to the inside of the ladder. The other option would be to create some sort of backpack/cooler combo. Even carrying a little Playmate type cooler, it wouldn't be very safe climbing that ladder at sea.
How about a cupholder belt lol
@@NautiStyles One of those beer hats would work but you may not be able to stay up there.
CANT BELIEVE ITS 40 YEARS OLD SO NICE😍😀
same here
Good Morning Everyone, Time to warm up with Victoria and Rico.
Good Morning Alan!! ☀️
That tower is perfect for spotting that elusive “White Grouper”…😂❤
What a great boat. The engine room is fantastic. Would definitely have to have a gyro stabilizer on this one. The crows nest ? One of the USN Destroyers i was stationed on i had to climb the forward mast . To replace the ships horn located near the top of the forward mast on a very small mast extension. My knees were knocking and ass cheeks puckered up the whole time. So crows nest, NOT for me. As always great job, love you guys.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's always good to have a perspective from a sailor! 😎
Beautiful ❤️👍‼️
That engine room and the what I call "penthouse/God's View" aRe Amaizing.👏👏‼️
Sure is!! Thanks for watching!
The engine room is amazing on this boat. ❤❤ It would be tempting to make an offer at this low price. The downside is filling the fuel tanks for fishing trips is ultra expensive.
Yesss
🙏
Great episode! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍
thank you so much for watching
@NautiStyles 👍👍
that fisher is dope. they have room for seakeeper under the enter hatch you opened, that will save the sway. what a smart layout.
agreed
Awesome looking, antique(now, it is 40 years old), boat..However - that crows nest would have to go if I were to get this boat...Doesn't look like it would take much to remove it...Plus , in my opinion, it just looks UGLY...Other then that the interior looks truly absolutely fantastic! And wow, what a huge, well equipped engine room! So, yeah, ditch the crows nest and this would be a PERFECT live aboard! Awesome tour, thanks Victoria and Rico!
I can see how the crows nest might not be for everyone 😂
I've hit my head going doing that engine room hatch many times...great boat, thanks for showing her off
No problem 👍
The top of the refrigeration area on the port side of the cockpit it for making up and holding trolling baits.
Thanks for sharing!
Very nice ship.Clean and seal the teak and you're good for years.
Exactly! 🙌🏼
