"listen, not just with your ears, but your eyes as well" .. people very much underestimate the loudness of body language. It can speak volumes more then the words sometimes.
As an entrepreneur, training your people is the highest form of effective, necessary communication. When you are training those in your organization the best way to prepare your people for the “game” is to ROLE PLAY. You role play EVERYTHING! Let me give you a few examples. When I worked in the insurance business, it was important to be able to give a great presentation to the client. BEFORE you can give a presentation however, you had to be able to get into the house. We started our training with “how” you knock on the door. We had a specific, friendly knock. We role played the knock. Then, when the prospective customer came to the door, we role played what to say. We role played to all the possible responses that the customer might give you at the door. We role played “qualifying” the customer at the door. We role played saying, “May I come in?” We called this whole process the “door approach”. If you have never gone “door knocking” before, you will find that it can be a very intimidating act for he or she that is knocking. YOU BUILD COURAGE AND PERSEVERANCE THROUGH DRILL, PRACTICE; AND REHEARSAL. When you role play, you have the opportunity to see what your trainees are doing right and wrong. Obviously, you reinforce correct technique and you correct faulty performance. Additionally, you may also learn a new technique from the performer that you hadn’t thought of. Another thing that happens, that is incredibly positive, is when they ask YOU to roleplay the part of the performer. When they switch roles with you they are about to give you the scenarios that are causing them difficulty and hardship in the field. When you solve these issues for them you have accomplished two important things. First, you have answered their question and uncovered an area that needs work. And second, you have established more credibility for yourself as the leader. Here’s a major irony of teaching and training: Much of the time, the trainer will learn more than the trainee. Let me give you a negative example. A couple of years ago, the executive director of the library where I worked, decided that we should have a person “meet and greet” our patrons when they walked through our doors. All she did was assign people to perform this task, without any instruction, an hour at a time. The only people that were able to effectively perform this task were the director herself and me. Why? Pretty simple, right? Never assume. Always begin training by explaining the why and because. Always explain what you are trying to accomplish. Always show the trainee how to do it. Always observe the trainee performing. Always track the results. Sound familiar? PESOS, (SEE BELOW) my friend. It is always necessary to give CCDD. Clear, concise, definite, direction. Our director, in her wisdom(?), blamed the performers. When a seemingly simple task that has been assigned is not performed as EXPECTED, you should first INSPECT to see if the proper direction was GIVEN and RECEIVED. Never assume that your instructions are understood. Always have the performer give you FEEDBACK to be sure they know what is EXPECTED. The PESOS Training System In business and coaching, you as the leader, are constantly teaching and training. What’s the difference? You go to school and receive a high school education. In the business world you receive both an education and training. Ask your high school sophomore if he wants sex education or sex training. See the difference? There is a simple way to train people to perform. It’s called the PESOS system. Mexican money. Here’s how it works. It is, of course, an acronym. P-repare E-xplain S-how O-bserve S-upervise The first thing that you do is to PREPARE your pupil for the task. What is it EXACTLY that you want me to do? What is the why and because that makes the task important? Where does it fit in to the “big picture”? Etc. The second step is to EXPLAIN how the task is to be performed. Step three is to SHOW your student how to perform the task by performing it yourself. Number 4: You OBSERVE the mentee performing the task. You do this for as long as it takes for the student to get the job done right. You critique, analyze, and continuously correct until you are happy with the quality of performance. Finally, you supervise. What does that mean? It means that you track the results. If the results are not satisfactory then you return to the OBSERVE step and make the appropriate correction. If you are receiving good results than you move on to the next task and collect your PESOS. In this way, the student will also become the teacher/trainer. You are building your organization and developing your leaders.

Thank you so much, this really helped me a lot. I had never been able to communicate correctly nearly in my life. I’m a shy guy but I’m also listener. I have a lot thoughts and opinion in my mind but don’t know how to convert or paraphrase it to have topic. I over think a lot because I’m afraid the audience that I communicate with gets awkward and on my authority failed of health of the conversation. Until I watched this video, I just broke out my comfortable state and earn polished new skill..
Trusting a speaker is the best way of learning communication instead of judging before ends up speaking and try to be the first one to listen and be the last one of speaking.
Also showing them that you cared is by listening, being there by there side, helping them out, doing things with the people you love and cared for, but don't forget to care and love yourself too

Every time I try to do what's good for the other person, I get told it wasn't good to assume or get told I'm trying to take control when I'm not. When I go with the flow of the other person's needs, I get called lazy. If I ask to clarify, so don't misunderstand I'm treated like I'm not listening. When I communicate thinking I did understand, I'm told I act like I know it all, which I absolutely do not. I am getting tired of even trying to communicate. I always end up on the short end of the stick.
