In this video of Living the Jo life, we explore local sights around Mumbai, India. While Mumbai is known for sights such as the Gateway of Mumbai and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Haharaj Terminus, there is so much more to the city. Our first stop was Dhobi Ghat, which is an open air laundry in Mumbai, located next to the Mahalaxmi Railway Station. It was fascinating to see the sheer amount of clothes being washed, dried and ironed here every day. Next, we went to the Kurla Railway Station, where we explored the slum areas along the train lines. It was amazing to talk to the locals to experience the resilience and spirit of their community and to witness how people from different regions live peacefully together. From here, we went to a nearby temporary temple, where they were celebrating Shardiya Navratri, which is a 9-day colorful festival devoted to Devi Durga. Not long after leaving the temple, we got to experience the festival in full swing along the side of the road, where we joined the celebrations with dancing and loud music. After dancing along the side of the road as part of the procession, it was time for a delicious Indian lunch. After lunch, we went to the local and very colorful Spice Market. Besides selling chilies everywhere, Kasper got himself a new kurta at the Spice Market. Our last stop of the day was the Crawford and Mangal Das Markets, which are a shopper’s paradise. These markets are very busy, vibrant and colorful, with people wanting to sell you everything from fresh produce and pets to handicrafts, textiles and Marsala Chai. These markets are a sensory overload. We really enjoyed getting to experience some of the more local sights around Mumbai, especially because we got to talk to so many nice and friendly people. They should develop satellite cities, & cease new construction in congested cities.
@@alani3992 For your kind information Navi Mumbai smart City project is under construction and the slum which your seeing will be not present after 5 years as Dharavi redevelopment project is already in process. This slum will be converted into Industrial Township by Adani Group and Government joint venture.

So after visiting dhobi ghat in Dharavi, I hope you guys understand why India is now the fifth largest economy in the world and on its way to becoming the third largest by the year 2030. The standard of living in dhobi ghat is so high, the likes of which the western world has never seen 😅😅😂😂. Ok That was my rant for today.
On a positive note, Ella looked really cute with the bindi. I think Ella is so stylish that she can carry both Indian and well as western couture equally gracefully.
