Repair in Africa is very difficult because it is difficult getting shorted components replacement and expensive ordering it from Ali express etc. a successful repair boils down to good troubleshooting and able to find replacements for the shorted component.
We get most of our parts from china. Shipping is usually not bad for us, often for components we can pay less than $10 or if we are buying in bulk with fast shipping it's $40. How much is shipping for Africa?
What are your thoughts on the length of the soldering? There were a lot of components, and I wondered if it was too much and maybe I needed to fast forward through it even more?
Hi Rick. Thanks for doing this video. I have this same TV with a blown power supply. I got your parts kit and replaced burnt components R9111, C9100, Q9100, R9104 and R9106, Also replaced U9101 which appeared burnt as well. The other parts in the kit appeared to be okay. R9107 measures 9.5k ohms which should be good. However, when I plugged in the power cord, it burnt R9111 and Q9100 immediately! I don't have either of these spare parts but they are easy to source. Any ideas what may have taken these out again? My bench soldering days date back to 1977, so it's been a relearning curve with these small scale components!

70" Vizio M7 series TV model M70Q6-JO3 There's a visual defect - vertical streaks show up on the screen behind words and image at times, what maybe causing this issue.
I am not familiar with that model yet as it's still fairly new and have not had it come into our shop much or for that fault but any picture issues could be mainboard or T-con which is what we are hoping for since those are replaceable or repairable. The other part that could be causing the fault is the screen, which is not worth replacing and would mean it's time for a new TV. Without pictures or having you bring the set to our shop, I wouldn't be able to assist further.

Yup Mouser and Digikey, as well as Arrow, but sometimes yes Alibaba and Aliexpress are the only options. There is also Taobao, but it's complicated, you have to use a shopping agent to buy from them, we use Yoybuy to buy from Taobao.
AliExpress is neither ideal not a safe and reliable source. When orders FAIL to arrive - one wil have a struggle to obtain a refund. Thus - DO NOT pay more than one can afford to lose - ALSO - there are too many FAKE components being SOLD ( SOD - if you are North American ) Best buy from a trusted / reputable local Wholesaler / supplier I have been dealing with such reputable local Wholesalers in QLD and NSW ] AUSTRALIA ] for almost six decades - and have sent components to the U.S. where they are apparently unavailable in the U.S. The U.S. commerce model and economy rests on end users buying and replacing non-functioning equipment - rather than repairing it. So I have the exact same model with just the c9100 capacitor burnt out and nothing else Can I replace just the c9100 capacitor and be good to go? Or I still need to change the c9801 along side the c9100
It would be a first if C9100 burnt up without anything else being damaged, so my thought is one of the other components is probably also shorted or affected in a way that may not necessarily be detectable, but if you can't find a fault with any of the other components I replaced in the video I would say replace it and power it on. See what happens. There is no harm in replacing only the damaged component. As for long term functionality yes it would be best to replace C9801 as well since it's in parallel and even though it is not burned or physically damaged in a way you can see, doesn't mean it wasn't affected so I definitely recommend replacing both.

We offer the mail in repair service so you can send in the board for us to fix. As for each component, they are very hard to find some of which we aren't able to source directly from USA sources. it is very hard to get some of the diodes we end up having to scavenge them off donor boards. The other passive components you can get from any retailer in the USA.
I will double check but I am confident that I have done these same checks both in and out of the TV and that did not make a difference, we always got lower voltages than listed on the power supply.

Please give exact model number of the TV, it will help better understand what the issue might be since some models have specific and common faults. But as a rule of thumb yes almost always Sony sets have mainboard faults when it comes to the TV cycling or boot loop. @@bilalkhan-zk9hw To repair this you will need to either replace the mainboard or replace the eMMC on the mainboard.
