    Absolutely love how each member of the group here is shown smiling and really enjoying the song. No pseudo "metal" prosing or anything, just musicians enjoying the hell out of something they have created together.

      They are posing like every singer does in every musical video in the world (or acting if you prefer that term). Different kind of metal, different kind of pose.

      It's just so human. You can see the precise moment each of them actively think about the next part, and then they celebrate nailing it. I wish bands would do more of this style of music/lyric video.

    This song does not get enough credit. As a metal fan form the original 4 horseman and someone who Loves loves metal . This band has it all. Metal back ground, great base and drums, keyboard, lead guitar is on point the addition of the death metal voice and the angel of a lead is such the combo and metal man should be frothing over.

    I've literally been listening to EPICA since they first came out back when I was in high school. While The Divine Conspiracy is still my favorite album, I still love their new albums and am so glad they are still releasing music. I love Mark's lyrics and songwriting, and of course Simone's singing ability! EPICA sings about issues no one wants to talk about at all. This is part of what makes them so good. They are still my favorite band to this day!

    You don't see bands looking like they're enjoying themselves enough. I enjoyed this vid more than I normally would watching a music video cos they look like they're having a blast.

    • @polecat987
      @polecat987 Рік тому +1

      I have to agree and say this even applies to live performances. Up and coming or "smaller" bands need to understand that. They have to enjoy themselves and engage with the public. I have seen many instances where the musicians don't even move around the stage and interact with each other or the public.

    One thing always stays at the top of my favourite reasons to love this band. Epica could have been a name easily taken by another group. However if another group did think of it, I suppose they thought of it as too pompous, arrogant, or feared they might not live up to the name. This band didn't and they just gave it and still give the best ...the most EPIC versions of themselves every time they can. That is what makes them great ...not the name itself but what lies behind it: sweat, time, effort, creativity on a grandiose scale. Thank you so much for this upload!

      They're been fairly consistent for me, definitely not getting better though. The Phantom Agony and Design your Universe were my favs. Cosign to Oblivion and Quantum were also fairly good. But, not a fan of Requiem... at all, and this new song is garbage to me.

    • @tpawsplayground
      @tpawsplayground 8 років тому

      Its a masterpiece. It flowed well, and had perfect symmetry, and every song just meshed. Fresh, even still.
      Oceanborn and Once are also Nightwish's master pieces.

    • @tpawsplayground
      @tpawsplayground 8 років тому

      TO me they have stylistic differences. And at the core Nightwish are folk/power metal band. And at the core Epica are a death metal band, with keyboard, backed by an orchestra. But their earlier stuff was orchestra backed by death metal band. Depends on what you enjoy most.

    • @tpawsplayground
      @tpawsplayground 8 років тому

      I would call Epica symphonic metal, because of the symphonies, and the keyboard, with the orchestra and choir.

    Wow, I came here thinking it would be another dark pop Epica song, but this is actually good in comparation to their last 4 albums, Im kind of surprised, it kind of reminds me to "Design your Universe" which makes me have expectations over this band again, Good!
    The greatest thing for me is that Simone finally left aside that poppy belting sound and kind of return to her original tone of voice, I really like it. Congrats!

    Decided this is one of their best songs ever written. Musically, lyrically. It also has the best bass and guitar tones. and the infectious melody from the vocals and keyboard really contrasts well with the harshness and heaviness.

    I remember seeing in an interview awhile back Epica wanted this album heavier with a more raw sound compared to the polished sound on TQE. I think they accomplished that. What's interesting is Simone's voice on this album sounds more like her voice hearing her live. Good stuff!

    Solo quiero comentar que quédense tranquilos, en serio, primero la canción de epica era como un aviso para no caer en eso (si miras sus otras canciones como "Beyond the Matrix" (más allá de la matrix) o de su nuevo álbum omega "The kingdom of heaven 3" (El reino de los cielos parte tres), te vas a dar cuenta que tratan de despertar a la gente. Segundo, usted puede cambiar de línea de tiempo cuando quiera, no caigas en el miedo, porque el miedo hace que vos mismo vayas a esa línea de tiempo, por tu propia voluntad, es como cuando tenes miedo a que algo pase y haces todo lo posible para no terminar ahí, y luego termina pasando, no hay que tener miedo, no caigas en sus trampas, para eso uno tiene que liberarse de todo lo que no es de uno (máscaras, si quiere puede ver un poco de psicología para que entienda) y decir firmemente que queres vivir en un mundo donde haya, no se justicia y muchos animalitos lindos y arbolitos (que se yo lo que quieras) y poco a poco cambiaras de línea de tiempo. El error que tiene la gente es directamente dejarse absorver sin saber qué esa es la trampa (técnicamente voy a colocar este comentario en varios que literalmente dicen ES QUE EL FIN DEL MUNDO ESTA CERCA) Eso es lo que quieren que creas, pero no. Hay que mantenerse firme, usted puede cambiar de línea de tiempo, siempre. Suerte, que cuando menos lo esperes todos ellos van a caer. Recomiendo leer la "Ley del uno El material de Ra" , o un canal que me gusta mucho de "Lorena la bruja filosófica" o "Gaia despierta" (esta en español, pero creo que tiene subtitulos y la ley del uno, el material de ra, su idioma original es el inglés y también cuenta con traducción al español, pdf gratuito en Llresearch

    I really love how the orchestra music is working with the band, creating a complex yet fresh song. Twenty-tens was really a great decade for music. Nowadays, it is all just synthesized in computer to make music cheap, prefabricated for general folk. I really miss this 2010's aesthetics when bands would really hire orchestras to accompany them.

      Almost every metal band now focuses on this ... like Stratovarius, Kerion, Nightwish, Rhapsody ... we don't need any more. I personally don't like when bands focus mostly on "humanity problems", I don't feel like we're slaves to technology, nor that we're so close-minded and afraid of our true nature. I enjoy Epica mostly for the music and the impressive soprano. :)

    probably the only band that's ever had so much to say with their lyrics while never sounding preachy, who in the hell could read those lyrics and turn it into a good song, nearly impossible, but they pull it off, when I first started listening to them I barely caught any of the lyrics of their songs, then I found out how deep their lyrics were and I was blown away, the music itself doesn't even need such powerful lyrics, but like George Jones said "why you're happy you enjoy the music and when you're sad you understand the lyrics"
