I can't tell you how amazing it is to see the four of them back on stage together AND without all the annoying dancers they had on past tours. We are there to see ONLY Jane's Addiction and they delivered here!
Why can't you tell us?
🤔😲🤪
Saw them in Doncaster on their Strays tour (minus Eric Avery, obviously) and thankfully it was merely the sports hall of Doncaster Dome, so there was a fairly small stage. Their set was amazing, despite Chris Chaney playing with a flu bug. I even discovered one of their support acts that night (Stellarstar*) who were bloody superb (think a group mixed between The Damned, Pulp & Pixies).
I'd seen Perry & Steve as P4P at Reading festival 93 so that was one of those nights I'd never want to miss if at all possible.
I love! Saw them in the 90’s fkn stole the festival
Jane’s addiction will be and should be one of the most influential bands in America! They changed rock!
wot duz that even meen
If they're not in the R&R Hall of Fame, that needs to be rectified, while the original quartet are all still available (and still alive, dare I say, knowing what happened to Killing Joke😞)...
Eric was the foundation of their early work. Glad he's back. The new song sounds like that's continuing.
I agree with you 100 percent on Eric! Band would not have existed without him.
Eric did claim he would never want to reform with them, even saying it would be like climbing into bed with an old girlfriend.
Amazing that he joined up with them years ago, but a sheer miracle he's done it again.
When it's the original quartet, you just know its what it should sound like.....
I hope my neighbors are enjoying this as much as I am. 🤗
muah-ha-ha-ha-haaaawwww
:D
I'm convinced Eric Avery is the most important songwriter in the band. Every great Janes song the bass is THE hook. They should be up there with the likes of Zep and Floyd. They are that great and influential.
They certainly weren't as good after he left. Coincidence?
@@richardtorres3688very true. They didnt have that "edge" with Flea as their bassist, in the same way Dave didn't seem to fit in with the Chilis on One Hot Minute.
You can't fit a Mercedes part to a Rolls Royce or the opposite.....
Love that JA opened up with Then She Did...they still sound great!!!
i’ve admittedly lost hope in hearing this band sound like their authentic selves for decades. this is immensely hopeful. dave sounds amazing. thanks for sharing this!
Yeah there had been some poor shows 10/15 years ago. But this is better and the videos from the last uk visit 7 year ago were good. They were so good tho during the 88-91 gigs done in the UK. But even those don't compare to the intense energy of the 86-88 gigs that are on you tube. This 2024 gigs are good for ppl who have never seen them, but when you have a history with them these shows don't reach that level at all. It wouldn't be possible anyway. It's not fresh, they are professional musicians now not band members getting wasted enjoying themselves. Know what I mean? They truly pushed boundaries back then. Asking as you ignored his banter between songs !
Whatever dude, be glad Perry isn’t dead from excess and enjoy the music.
This lineup is what JA is meant to be. There is a certain inexplicable chemistry that some musicians have that makes them greater than the sum of their parts. All the truly great bands have it, and the energy and synergy between these four guys is magic.
Perkins is flawless
JA was the soundtrack to some crucial parts of my young adult life . A pleasure to listen to this stuff again.
Samezies.
Just seen them in Glasgow tonight ,at one point I just stood in pure amazement s to what I was witnessing
Thanks for posting, I had the pleasure of seeing them last night, 29th, 33 years later after the last time at Brixton Academy in 91, felt like meeting old friends.. Just an awesome band….
Did it take you back to the ‘90’s? Just hearing this does for me. I have to wait til September to see them.
Those were exactly the 2 shows I saw!! It was a privilege to see them on Wednesday.Dave is my absolute favourite guitarist of all time.
Ha. That's a memory. I saw them at the old marquis a couple nights before (or, was it after?)
So tight! Every song sounds new again and thank effing god AVery is back.
Janes addiction changed my perception of music when I discovered them in 1991 and I have loved them ever since, thanks guys for changing my life.
Can’t overstate what these guys did. Pre-grunge post 80s metal genius. Fantastic show and hope they come close to my neighborhood.
Great job Kristian...excellent camera work for all of us to enjoy...well done...we appreciate your effort and sacrifice so that we can watch it over and over forever!! Brilliant job on a BRILLIANT band on a BRILLIANT LINE UP AGAIN...10 outta 10 sir...clean sweep...so much respect...thanks again
BRILLIANT!! YES BRILLIANT!
Agreed
Thanks for posting. Eric was always the secret sauce in my opinion.
So good to see them all together again and making new music. They sound great! Eric is my favorite bass player of all time. I hope the four of them can make it work long term this time around.
I remember well seeing this band in the late 80’s and the early 90’s. There was nobody like them, some absolutely amazing shows.
Perry looking like he's not sure if he should sing or go on an archeological dig.
(They still sound great, though!)
hahahahahaha
Indiana Farrell? ⛏️
Perry Jones and the Last Crusade
I would love to see *Jane's Addiction* and *Turnstile* tour together!
Jane’s Addiction is one of the finest bands to ever rock the earth & it was wonderful to see all 4 original members, the last time I saw that lineup was at the inaugural Lollapalooza! Thanks for uploading this video of a fantastic concert!! I went to this show & the one on Wednesday while on vacation in London. I’m seeing them again in Houston on August 19!
Thanks for posting the entire show, on;;y 20 minutes in so far and they still sound as good as ever. I have watch a couple of the other clips of this show folks have posted. I am so glad they are making new music with all of the original members. They are all great artists by them selves but when they get together they are on another level.
This was great! Tbh I've always had hard time watching the greats age...sometimes the staying power isn't there anymore. This on the other hand is amazing to see. Even years later they still bring it. They wear their age well and the music is mature and in point. Their music is timepiece of what it looks like when the landscape of not just music but the culture is forever changed. Yet simultaneously it is timeless. Beautiful.
The camerawork and audio is top notch. Kudos friends! Peace.
Perry looks like he’s gonna go hunt a relic from the 18th century after the show 😂😂
they look like they're having fun
I'm on every Jane's mailing list under the sun and I did not know this was happening and that Dave is well enough to tour. Bless you for this video, thank you! Live for Jane's, Jane's to Live.
Join the Jane's subreddit, it seems to be the best for keeping up to date on all this.
This is great thanks, I was there, but couldn't see much.
Would like to name check IDLES, the T Eric is wearing 👌
Ditto - I feel like I'm always the last to find out - and these shows at the Roundhouse would have been easy for me to get to ... Never before had a chance to see them - and have buggering managed to miss them in London
Seeing them in Ft Lauderdale at the end of August. SO EXCITED!!!!!
Omg
Dave’s back! I didn’t know and I’m going to see them tomorrow in Manchester!!!
was there on wednesday. wouldn’t have missed it for the world. thanks for making my entire adult life slightly magical, jane’s addiction x
All original lineup, tight, dialed and writing new material-priceless.
We owe so much to Perry Farrell to organize an experience like Lollapallooza before the experience could be absorbed by cultural marketing monsters. If it weren’t for him, would’ve lost everything that helped it be like a traveling freak show at the moment we were experiencing something that couldn’t be sold. It was something that’s still alive and we are the last real revolution before the internet swallowed everything.
they are sounding better than ever...original line up bravo
Having seen them in ‘90, the first lalapalooza and on the ritual tour, I can tell you they absolutely do not sound better than ever.
@@robertluttrell1958 You are right, they absolutely do not sound better than ever. I first saw them on the Nothing's Shocking UK mini tour in 1989 and then followed the Ritual tour for four gigs, and I can assure anyone that they were most definitely at their peak during those times. 100%.
Great to see Dave back hitting dead on!!!!
Ya know Navarro is a very interesting guitarist. I love his RHCP work- ESPECIALLY Aeroplane live at the Garden NYC❤ deserves a cover on Guitar Player Magazine!!!
Worst part was how quickly it was all over and leaving to find it wasn't 1991 🥀🖤
😳 what a set list..and..VIBE! All 4.. just Amazing
It goes without saying that it is great to have Dave back. For me, Eric is the secret sauce. I wonder what Strays and The Great Escape Artist would have sounded like with Eric there. I don't believe I have seen them play a song from either so far in 2024 shows.
STRAYS is amazingly great to my ears!
I must have been just a few rows behind you, so watching this is the perfect flashback to an incredible show...thanks so much for sharing!
They sound on fire... awesome.
fantastic,,,thanks for posting x
Awesome, thanks for doing this.
I was there! (right behind you) Great job! What a show!! I saw them on the 29th two days later as well. The last time I saw them was in 1991 in Manchester with Primus. Jane's Addiction were amazing back then, but they've got even better with age. Without question, one of my fav bands. Iconic music, lyrics, musicians and fashion dons. Did you see Courtney Love watching at the side and taking vids on her phone too
Ohhh, | was wondering, that woman looks like Courtney Love, LOL, so it was her!
1991 Bristol. Back in those days the support act wasn't always publicised, and I remember when we walked in to the hall, saw a load of Primus T-Shirts, and started to think we'd accidentally turned up on the wrong evening. Was probably the best concert I've ever seen, and I've been to some stormers.
@@CountDadLord without question, Primus tore it up. I'd never heard of them before that show. The next day I jumped on a bus to Eastern Block records and bought the Frizzle Fry album
Hope they keep Then She Did and Three Days on the setlist for Toronto
Wow. I was there and got some clips but having the entire show is awesome. Thanks!
thank you so much for posting this, it's like being there, excellent, subscribed
THANKS FOR THIS!!!!
Bassline on the new song is fuckin awesome!!
Since 1988..First London gigs..3 in the row..
This is great thanks, I was there, but couldn't see much.
Would like to name check IDLES, the T Eric is wearing 👌
Aside from Perry, the rest of the band hasn’t missed a beat. They’re still as tight and as powerful as ever. No knock on Perry, it’s just the consequences of living the rockstar life of drugs and alcohol for so many years.
Not sure Perry dies live a rockstar life. Might be seeing him just get older. He’s in his late 60’s.
@@ellenhenderson6865Perry did a bunch of drugs back in the day. The whole band did. That’s pretty well documented. No knock on them just the truth
Certainly not like The Old Days, but Jane's Addiction literally sounds better than they have since the glory days of 1990. PLEASE bring this show to the Hershey Theatre in Hershey, PA....!!!!!
Amazing footage! Thanks for sharing, they sound awesome
Great sound!
Greatest American band, not even debatable
Imminent Redemption is after Jane Says. Viva Stephen!
I was there- they were on fire 🔥!
Just gets better 👏🙏
Will see them in August. Soooooo looking forward to it!
New song starts at 40:25
Great again.....!
Haaaaaaa. yess!! This warms my heart. Jane’s forever
Seen them 3 times back in the early to mid 90s, can't remember too much from that era, lol. They sound great these days, but honestly they were so much better when they were high. I mean no disrespect, just being honest.
Yes!!!!!!!! I got my tickets!!!!! LA !!!!!!!!
Stunning gig
Love the band
Never thought Perry was great singer.
he was amazing during the ritual tour.
He is good enough
For me
No Geddy Lee lol
Congratulations 😚
That new song is 🔥! Please release a new album 💿
They claim to be working on it and I can't wait!
Perry should surrender that sound device to a tech. Too preoccupied with it.
He's a bit of a control freak. Always has been.
Perry sounds worse than usual. The rest of the group is tight as fuck tho. Props to Eric for repping the Idles T
He does sound worse in this for sure, might just have been an off night. I saw porno for Pyros a few months ago and he sounded much much better that night.
perkins is a beast
I like it.
There is no Jane's Addiction without Eric Avery. Did you hear that, Eric?
Well by the time they get around to playing Whores it's beginning to sound like Jane's Addiction.
Pretty impressive considering the actual ages of the players up there. I'm diggin' it . Break out the bottle of wine !
Was an amazing show. Perry is just the most magnetic front man, full of energy and Dave is a genius
Eric Avery made me pick-up the bass back in the 90s
60 yr old plus men..sound great still.. glad we not dealing with perrys annoying wife dancing all over taking camera time
Dave's 56
It was better without the dancers yes
Ppl think when you’re 60 you should be put out to pasture.. Jeez
I want to go up the beach w/ these guys
Woaw very short! 1h13!
They should do a uk festival and show the kids what a proper band is
Daves back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perry sings a lot like Vince Neil if you ask me. He doesn't sing at all he just sort of hums the melody.
Love Perry.
19;35 IN OOO wee ahhh yeah...
All corking musicians but how good a drummer is Perkins? Listening on my tinny mobile phone & yet his drumming is superlative
GREAT JOB ALL...THANX 4 MAKING Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO the music worldwide.
LOVE YOU ALL...!!!....MUCH LOVE.!!
Porno For Pyros made my 2023. Janes is gonna make my 24
People get old, guitarrists, drummers, bassists, and even singers, voices change, specially if you have used it intensely like Perry, with that saidm they sound GREAT!!!
Pigs in Zen fuck yeah
52:26 EPIC!
JA IS THE REASON WE ARE A BAND
They sound great. This is the only band I’d dare put up there with Led Zeppelin in the GOAT conversation.
They sound good but that’s reaching…. A Lot
Against led zeppelin are you awake?
Forget RUSH I guess…
Perry seems to be the only one who's got older. He looks so fragile.
Just saw him a month or so ago with Porno For Pyros, haven’t seen him since 2009 so I was shocked with how old he looked.
The concert was great, they are still brilliant musicians. Only downsize the guitarsound was not good, (I stood back in the middle) and they played 75 min. only. But was great to see them again!
Perry looks like a Jewish grandma- though credit for not dyeing his hair, and Dave looks like Papa Lazarou. I'm not sure if that makes them cooler or not. Eric A looks like the beast that they have loooong been missing.
Is that Eric playing the bass?
Play embrace the darkness
Wonder if Love and Rockets opened?
This show simply has to return to Aus.
Please timestamp each song in the set list. Thanks.👍
