- Got a work order that the gym ac is not working right before a game of course, here’s what I found #hvac #hvacrepair #airconditioning #gym
I work on toshiba drives all the time. Pull it out of the box. Just the six wires ribbon cable four screws. Lay on a table and you will be able to see everything you need clean that heat sink good too.
Sweet , Thanks peterbuilt. I’ll do a follow up 👍
You da man, you go from working on fans with 8 foot blades to fans with 2 inch blades!
If it moves I’ll work on it , or at least try. Thanks CC 👊
I have a few accounts where I installed axial fans to pull heat from the cabinets. Grainger sells them with a stainless guard for around $100. Keeps those drives happy
That’s a good tip, Thanks MarcosHVAC
Those damn fans fail all the time. I find them failed on so many ABB's. Thanks for sharing with us
Yeah I find ABB’s out a lot, Thanks for your support 👊👍💯
Nice work Subcool. Looking forward to the follow-up.
Thanks Steven , me too 👍
Nice work, keep it up
Thanks, will do!
On those sleeve bearing fans, use a light grease (super lube) on them and they should live for another 5-10 years. Ball bearing jobs, forget it, just replace them.
Don't forget to slap some electrical tape on the holes.
Got new motors ordered , hopefully they’ll be RIP in the near future, thanks for the tip Nighthawke70 👍
@@subcoolHVAC If it came down to a bar fight on the fans, head to the local computer repair shop. They got a wide variety of fans, both new and used.
But if they are in the 120 volt range, forget it. That's special order.
We have to use approved vendors for parts, they are 24VDC motors
Keep it going man
It’s a going 👊👍
Great Video. Thank you for sharing. What is Toshiba Q9 ?
Thanks for asking , it’s a solid state speed drive design for HVAC motors.
Nice job.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing. Great work!!
Thanks for watching!
Funny how that control center costs more than your average gaming pc and yet they put those tiny fans in there. Good job toshiba.
They are cute, could make the plugs more accessible too… I quit before I broke something
That drive released in early 2009. I guess those fans weren't terrible if they lasted 14 years of 24/7.
@@tschuuuls486Absolutely, They’ve done their job 👍
Why is the bypass light on?
There’s something mis wired in the switch or relay , something else to figure out..
Just curious. I know nothing about HVAC repair 😅 Is there a reason behind using compressed Nitrogen instead of compressed air?
Good question, That’s the gas tank I have available on my truck for purging, blowing out drains, etc. Compressed air could be used if available. Thanks
Dam I thought those were just disposable unserviceable junk !
I'll try and fix 'em next time one fails , do you think i could use " universal " grease or did you use a specific kind ?
Cheers mate 👍
I hit with WD-40 to clean out the grit then dropped zoom oil in. Cheers 👊😎
@@subcoolHVAC I fix those fans on computers like that all the time. You will probably get months to a year or two before those fans lock up again.
@@DEW409 I’ll be happy with a couple weeks until I swap them, Thanks DEW409!
