Alright, I did some calculations for the seasons. For John Andretti, he led 5430 laps without a win lol. It took Terry Labonte 334 races and for Kyle Petty he ran 662 races between 1994-2014 without a win.
@@austinstitzel But Benson is actually reasonable to win before Johnson tho; MB2 was basically Hendrick-lite with Pontiacs and Benson is far from awful.

idk if you ever learned this since then, or if you might ever even see this comment, but it’s not just Gordon, if anybody wins 8 championships they automatically retire. i had stewart go on a monster run with like 5 in a row, ended up retiring after his 8th and i actually had Gordon retire in the same save, Ashton Lewis drove the 24 after that and he stunk it up
1:37:57 That "odd" font of the 40 was actually the Busch car Brian Vickers drove for in 2002 before going to Hendrick's Busch team for 2003. So Vickers in this universe was potentially mid-carding it up in Busch for 15 years in that car before graduating to Cup.
Some of these have real life parallels which is scary (The big 3 in 2018, but with Kenseth, Jr, and Stewart, Kamikaze's favorite driver finally getting the championship in 2017, and the Napa car winning at Sonoma in 2013, breaking a long winless drought)
Why can't any of the NASCAR games after 2004 (roughly) have all these detailed stats? I hate how the new games don't let you look at ANY stats. You can see wins... and if you are lucky top 5 and top 10s, but nothing else. It stinks! You can't even look at other drivers stats. One of my favorite things with these classic games was doing a season and seeing how well the other drivers did and seeing their T5, T10, their average start, average finish, etc. Come on game companies, give us these stats back!
1 thing I love about this game, still play it to this day....the 'fantasy drivers' are either EA developers, musicians, MRN Radio personalities, or drivers who have been dead for 30 plus years (Al Smith in 85 if I'm not mistaken)...just laugh at the hometown/age snafus for people like Kahne, Purvis, etc.
The Purvis one is worse because they screwed him up with not 1 but 2 drivers. Purvis' stats list him with Kevin Grubb's hometown & birthday, but Wayne Grubb's birthyear.
An interesting idea after you get through these games (this'll take a lot longer to do) is to go into each race in NASCAR Thunder 2004 and DNF yourself every race to see how the game shuffles the field (You may have to do it on PCSX2 as you can input a gameshark code to have unlimited money)
I’m doing a season for NT03 where I wreck all the good drivers and make them retire. Some interesting stuff has happened. For one, Johnny Sauter is currently driving Jr’s old car, and in 307 starts has 36 wins and 2 championships.
