Jackie Leven was one of the greatest singer songwriters ever and will be greatly missed, I am so envious of my parents that they used to frequently go to see him at gigs
Jackie Leven was brilliant, and truly under-appreciated.I never tire of his music. His lyrics stand as poetry of the highest order. His death was far too soon.Thank you Ian Rankin for this.
"Not well enough known I don't think" Must be the understatement of the year. Leven is criminally under-appreciated.
That is a book I shall be reading. If it was to be made into a film it would give such a boost to Jackie's cherished memory.
lovely tribute to Jackie x
Tengo formada una playlist en Spotify con el nombre "LA MUSICA DE REBUS", que he ido recogiendo a lo largo de sus novelas. Por supuesto figura Jackie Leven. Un gustazo este Rebus. Gracias Mr. Rankin..
Jackie loved rain.
Thanks Ian for a fine recommendation to a music artist I'd never experienced. So... how many CDs/LPs do you have in the collection? Like when I moved from the East Coast of the USA and had to jettison my comic books I had to loose my LPs when I moved to Scotland. Life can be funny sometimes, but with old/new music being discovered... who cares???
Jackie. Rain. The highlands. The sweet, small islands. Jackie,
Fantastic Story Teller... I filmed this performance in Southend many years ago... Just spellbinding Jackie Leven 'Olivier Blues'... ua-cam.com/video/1H04K6V9v9Y/v-deo.html
Intriguing, being a huge Jackie Leven fan I would love to read this book, why did the man have to go and expire like that, inconsiderate I'd call it!
