That is totally true. And that’s one reason why you should create an LLC. That way you can apply for trademarks in the name of your LLC.

Basically 99% of youtubers need to watch this video. So many of them dream of "making it big" but then shit their pants when faced with the realities of business, trademark, and law.
We are YTubers outside the US and this morning we got an email saying that the IRS is going to start taking tax from creators who make money off of US views, and that if we don’t update our tax info the rate will be the default rate of 24%. Also the the Adsense earnings will deemed royalties. If possible can you do a video on this? If you supply your tax details the tax rate isn’t 24%, but I cannot find what the other rate is. Maybe it’s different for different countries.
Hey Chris. Yeah I heard about that email. It really stinks. The tax rate depends on a number of things, one of them is any treaty that exist between your country and America. I am in the process of researching Why U2 made this announcement now. The law that backs it has been in place for a long time.
I submitted it with my tax details and the rate went up to 30% for each category - but I did not realise I was in a tax treaty country (UK) so I resubmitted the form and completed the tax treaty part, and it's now 0% on all categories.
Another creator , EEV blog, is in Australia (also a tax treaty) and he was 0% on two categories and 5% on one.
So if you're not in a tax treaty it's 30% it seems, and if you're in a tax treaty rates seem to vary.

1:10 is it possible to trademark your channel name even if it had to be changed due to a dead channel having the name I use?

From its website, *“Rocket Lawyer* is *NOT* [emphasis] a ‘lawyer referral service’ or a law firm, does *NOT* [emphasis] provide legal advice or representation (except in certain jurisdictions), and is *NOT* [emphasis] intended as a substitute for an attorney or law firm.”
Instead, hire a trademark attorney (in your state) to “properly” file your federal trademark registrations!

What if I set-up a personal LLC, for protection purposes only, and name my UA-cam channel with "LLC" included?

I just went to the website where I'm considering registering, actually two, LLCs. One personal for personal protection and an actual business entity. I found there is two trademarking options, state and federal. Is there any valid reason to do both?
I just thought of something else too.
Regarding my actual business... I have a business name and plan to register an LLC and an ORG using the same name. Would it be reasonable to also register a DBA name to use for both? Such as... ABC Company, LLC and ABC Company, ORG with both DBAs being ABC Company.
Looking to go as legit as possible by the New Year, how does one go about finding a CPA with such expertise? Also, are you affordable? Will be looking for a lawyer as well
my channel name was used before but i did never know that it just came to my head this channel used my name in the past is dead so i don't know should i stay with it or not since the trademark do cost and i cannot afford it
