The rolling joke here in the US is Type 1 fun vs Type 2 fun. Type 1 is like a roller coaster, fun then and now but not memorable or a story. Type 2 fun is miserable at the time with occasional highlights but fun to talk about for the rest of your life. Adventure riding is Type 2. Totally worth it. Keep it up guys.
Too much of a good thing is still too much (wine). Thanks for your selfless effort in order to support the French farmers. Since they introduced the 80 km/h limit and 30 in towns, France has doubled in size. Looking forward to your next episode, Günter/Nürnberg
Your excitement to get to the ‘adventure’ as fast as possible reminds me of the tale of the old bull and the young bull. They were both stood on the top of a hill looking down on a herd of cows. The young bull turned to his elder and said “wow look at all those cows, let’s run down now and shag one”. The old bull shook his head and replied “no son, let’s WALK down and shag em all!”.
I do at least one long trip 4-5k a year and for me it is always more about the journey and not the destination. Sat Nav is always set to avoid motorways. Cheers
This video was the best I've seen from y'all. It was interesting and entertaining, it was relatable and personal, it was Art. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a solid F9.
Very good episode guys ❤️ I am proud of you and I am hoping you will gain more audience. I am jealous! by having a small capacity bike and wanting to do Europe off roads I realized I am alone with this😅💩 BTW I totally understand you Marc about camping, remote/wild camping smells like adventure to me to! I HOPE you have some more abroad plans for the next year trip. In my eyes Europe has so much more to offer than UK. For your riding and YT channel too!. I am living in UK too and cannot describe how desperate I am to find adventure abroad in the mountains. Thanks Guys❤️
Hello from York, Pa. USA. Love watching your videos. You're doing a great job with the editing. I've always had sportbikes but recently got a crf300l rally. I love the bike. I even started building racks for it and selling them. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful landscapes. I’m still trying to prepare my bike and myself for the TAT. Maybe once I complete that I will be able to figure out a way to do the TET... The thought of driving on the wrong side of the rode drives me nuts though! Lol.. I don’t know how itchy boots is constantly changing sides! Lol... Your videos are great!
Ah that's awesome, we plan to try and get over to do the TAT at some point I bet it's amazing! Yeah swapping once was enough for me 😂, I dont know how she does it. Thanks for the support, ride safe 😎
Great video you two. Been following for a while and from a high starting point, it keeps getting better. Can't wait for the next episode. I'll be doing more of the tet uk, plus camping in a few weeks, largely inspired by videos like this.
Hey, sorry we didn't reply, we both thought we had replied 🤦🏻♂️. Thanks for the support, if anything, we just hope it shows other people that you can get out there and do the same 😎👍🏻. Great to have you along for the ride.
I’m sure with time you’ll reflect on your blast through France 🇫🇷 as a missed opportunity and one I’m sure you’ll not miss on your next adventure. As the comments above mentioned it’s the journey and not the destination that’s the adventure, its in the effort made to get there and return safe full of memories that will keep you fuelled and not just your bikes until your next. Enjoyed watching and looking forward to the “good stuff” 🤘🏻
Wow 8 or 9 thousand revs! I’m pretty sure mines not seen anything over 7. I’m super surprised and happy the bikes made it. I’m really enjoying the adventure and showcasing the little CRF as it’s a great bike
Fantastic stuff guys...can feel your building excitement as you relax into the trip. BTW, there has to be at least one night where you over do the vino calapso... it's the law. Will have to send u the pic of our empties from our first night in Spain 😅
Do ya think sometimes when we travel we focus entirely on the destination .... I am sure in the following months and years to come you will both chat about the journey to where you wanted to be with fondness .
Hey Snox, certainly that was my (Marc) thinking. In hindsight, it was the small things that made it great. I wonder if will learn our lesson for upcoming trips
Hey Darren, yep, we want to show all of it, warts and all. The gov advice on covid forms was a faff. In the end, it wasn't needed, but the various government websites don't tell you that 🤦🏻♂️
What constitutes an Adventure? We seem to be confused. Some think it's like The Long Way Around --- take 1000 lbs of man and machine and charge into a mud bog. An Adventure Tour company in my area brags about blasting down logging roads at 70+ mph. At 77 years old with 57 years on motorcycles, every time I get on a motorcycle, it's an Adventure. Heck, just walking out to the garage and looking at the mechanical marvel that is my motorcycle is an adventure. For me an adventure all about the landscape and people you meet, all enhanced by riding a motorcycle. An Adventure is what YOU say it is, not what others tell you what it's supposed to be. Enjoy
Brother and I ordered two of CRF300L's... Kinda having this "life" in mind... Will follow.. ;) Greetings from Serbia PS. What sort of big petrol thank is that?
Hey, good question! The tyres did amazingly... 3500 miles, with motorway, A & B roads and trails of course and they still have life left on them. Great tyre 👍🏻
Hey guys. When you applied the carbon fiber pattern wrap material to the windshield on the Rally, did you have any trouble getting the material to lay down nicely? Did you have to cut it, or splice it into two separate pieces, or anything like that? I’m asking because I have tried to apply window tint to mine and have Not had very much success! I tried applying it to the front as well as the back, and due to the shape of the windshield, it just won’t adhere nicely to the surface... Now I’m considering using something like you have used hoping that it will be a little easier to work with since it is a little thicker? I don’t know... Do you have any advice?
Hi, yep, carbon fibre wrap, well spotted! It was simple enough with two people. We removed the screen and did it on a bench. Heat tye iflm with a hair dryer to soften it when laying it down. It went down in one peice. Have a go, it's fiddly but achievable 👊🏻😎

Well done lads 👍
Over cooked it on the wine 🍷
Haha
Never done that before 🤣
Keeping it real !
Haha, gotta try the local produce! I think we kept the small business in trade for the next few months with the amount we put in the tills 🤣

Absolutely. As the series rolls out, we learn a few valuable lessons!
That walled town is Navarrenx, we know it well, we have a house 10mins from there. The Pyrenees can be seen from there.
Ah, awesome, a long standing question now answered, thanks. It was a pretty cool place for sure

Hey Darcee, such a cool comment thanks, it's great having along for the ride (pun intended)
That's cool, how u finding the Rally?
I love the rally. If you guys buy the 300l or 300l rally let me know I will donate racks to you.

Hey Peter, yep, I think you'll enjoy the series as it goes on, there might be a little twist or two which prove your point!

Hey Ian, yep, motorway cruising makes for high rpm! The bikes did us proud, such a great little machine. Happy to be singing it's praises 😎
Really looking forward to the meet up! I have a load of questions lol 👍
Be great to see you, bring the questions on 👊🏻😎

🤣 Yep, the mandatory first night madness... It just spilt into the second night (pun intended) 😎
@@lightweightadv lol, yes I noticed your penchant for puns...you pour boys
Good effort lads. Looks like a great trip.
Thanks Ollie, it was a great trip, just sad that it's over now. Have sent you a pm on Facebook by the way 👊🏻😎
@@lightweightadv hey dudes. Yup, seen it. I'll be in touch soon!

Fantastic video, really cool to talk about the nervousness and getting pissed happends, good to see. Can I ask what paper work was a faff?
Hey Darren, yep, we want to show all of it, warts and all. The gov advice on covid forms was a faff. In the end, it wasn't needed, but the various government websites don't tell you that 🤦🏻♂️
@@lightweightadv ah OK that's really good to know thanks. And yes a very realistic video of two mates on a adventure
No problem buddy, thanks for the support we really appreciate it 👍

Great video again fellas 👏 question ... on the motorway stretches, what sort of speeds were you sitting at ? I'm assuming a GPS 60-65mph 🤔
Hey, good question! I (Marc) measured the GPS at 70mph most of the time, maybe just over on occasions 😎👌🏻
@@lightweightadv blimey, that's cracking on a bit 😳
Yeah we needed to cover the ground so some of it was purely trucking but the bikes purred away no problem

PS.
What sort of big petrol thank is that?
Hey Andrej, that's awesome, I'm sure you will both love them.
Yes, the tank I have on the L is an Acerbis tank about 13l I think, hope that helps 👍
Oh cool for you to be able to purchase 300l, there won't be any available this year in Poland, so I bought 2017 250l. Good luck with adventure!
How did the tyres handle the trip?
Hey, good question! The tyres did amazingly... 3500 miles, with motorway, A & B roads and trails of course and they still have life left on them. Great tyre 👍🏻
