Nice coming of age story from an annoying yoof 😜 to someone who loves adventure and respects nature ❤🌱🌲🌳🐜. Kids enjoying themselves develops the kind of people who go into the military and look after our countryside. I worry for the oldies who don't understand this and want to close down any activity except bird watching. Let's inspire the next set of 8 year olds !
Oh, plenty of us "oldies" understand ---- more than you can imagine. We have been around. Not to worry. Bird watching is a great activity for the very young and old. Life is great.
I enjoyed this! Good pace, amateur but authentic filmography, great choice of music. I'd say your introduction to bike riding was spot on; many begin in worse places, doing worse things. Mine began and (nearly) ended in a hedge around the same age. Good luck with preparations for South America.
Ill have to take my bike over there one day, heard of it but never seen it and it looks a nice place to ride. Good to see you've turned a leaf from your criminal past, I'm sure you slept well after coming clean about it!
Also, if you want sand, get yourself up to Heacham, next to Hunstanton - there’s a great track there that will get you used to deep sand. Lemme know if you head that way and I’ll show you around a few lovely sections
I used to practice trials on my Beamish in Thetford forest, from the age of 15. The police would try and catch me. They never did. 😂 I moved away 30 years ago, but still go back to see friends and family every now and again.
Those comments about ‘what if I fell off and was hurt…’ reminded me of a case back in the 60s near Brands Hatch (yup, a longtime ago and far, far away), where a chap came off his bike, was seriously hurt and pitched into a ditch. He lay there for (I think) two days before they found him. He survived, though I don’t remember if he was permanently disabled. But this was on the A2! Take care out there, and think on’t! Good video, thanks. Les
Sand 😒, i'm currently recovering with a bashed in leg from sand , I also thought about being stuck somewhere alone cause I couldn't get the bike off me being sandwiched between little hills, I eventually wiggled out 😕, good thing it was a 250 rally .
Loving your content mate, I’m just about to sell a bike to buy an older trail bike to have a go off road after 30odd years on the roads… plenty places up North to go mooching too 👍🏼
Riding alone does make you double take on what could happen, I was out yesterday riding the lanes near market raisen giving it the beans as usual then stopped for a drink and realised I had no mobile signal instantly though what would I do if i binned it nobody would find me and I couldnt call out
Really makes you think, doesn't it 😕. I actually don't think perfectly set up for that when I ride in UK. For Europe, I take my Garmin inreach, I should in UK too
Hold on! Don't even think you're getting OLD! My Kids are 8 and 10 years older than you and they are youngsters. Now, I'm old, almost 80, and still ride. Just don't go stupid and you can enjoy riding for a long time to come. When you have had your fill of South America, You, Jamie, and Austin need to visit me in Oregon and help put a damper on our BDR Adventure mentality, which heavily orientated to the "Long (Wrong) Way Round" model. Large, powerful machines, overloaded, high speeds close together. Look at their videos. If they're not crashing and tearing up expensive bikes, breaking bones, and suffering all kinds of calamities on dangerous terrain, it's not an Adventure. The skill set required is amazing, but I just don't get it. So, you think you were irresponsible at 13 ------- you were a Bloody Amateur. Cheers

100% this! I partly wonder if this is why the average age of the trail rider is slowly creeping up. Consider your comment pinned to the top 😎

It's fun to see my local lanes through other peoples eyes. If I see you there again I will say hi!
100% do mate, I'm always up for a chat. I'll be back at some point 👌🏻
Love this video buddy! Very nostalgic and had me reminiscing about the good times in my own life! 🏍️🍌👌🏻
Haha, awesome. Thanks dude 😎👌🏻

Like an innocent little baby 😂. Definitely got a ride it. Avoid the Peak times, it gets ridiculously busy 👌🏻
Moving to Watton in a couple of weeks and looking forward to exploring.
I know Watton very well. Right on the edge of all the lanes 👌🏻

Ah, we tried that lane when we rode some of the Pedders way. I'm pretty sure Jamie got stuck. Or fell off. Or something...

@@danielc6106 ah, similar to me, I haven't lived there for close to 30 years now. Still, it's nice to visit once every now and then

Great point Les, I guess we become complacent in most circumstances
Sorry about your mum passing. Looks like a great place for a childhood. A blessed man
I really am mate, was an ideal place to grow up 👌🏻
@@lightweightadv what about helping set up for the festival?
We passed you on our cts that day. We spotted the lads at the junction
That was you! I was kinda hoping you would stop, I'm keen to have a look around one of those 😂
Excellent! Good job!!!
👊🏻😎
Love Thetford. Second time riding sand there, got to watch the run off from some of the pig fields. Be warned ! It can get a bit sketchy down there.
Haha, definitely. Lots of pitfalls around Thetford. It's a fairly benign place, until it's not 😂

Well past the limitation of proceedings on that one!

Thank you, that's awesome. Loads of trailsbuo north, you're spoiled for choice. Older trial bikes rock, I love the bikes from the 90s
@@lightweightadv I’m fancying a kdx220 but need the zxr400 gone first 👍🏼

I have a Thetford toilet in my van! Where do we go from here? .......
😂😂 Not back to your van!
