I think a good way to make it slightly more challenging would be to ban a game once it beats a quest. That way games like scribblenauts can't knock out most quests very easily.
Or maybe disallow multiple uses by the same person; I think either would work well to prevent abuse of more sandboxy games (someone else mentioned tabletop simulator).
Was discussed afterwards as a likely rule going forward (only one quest per game)
I find the fact that NL “enlisted” aka caught 100 fish before Dan caught five extremely funny

The Danglicisms, the clutch Monopoly Gambit for getting arrested and the surprisingly scarcity of goblins to defeat!
When I saw that list, first thing that jumped into my head was Oblivion. Kill the gobs in the tutorial, then immediately go to the capital and punch a guard to get arrested XD
Incredibly interesting concept; it had me hooked the entire time. I definitely see the difficulty in rating the difficulty of these challenges. There's almost certainly a way to trivialize any of the challenges if the competitors come up with just the right game. Of course, if the competitors can't come up with a particularly good game, even an easy seeming challenge can be devastating.
For example, NL could have booted up Rogue Tower for an easy 5 goblin kills.
Hell, he probably could have killed 5 goblins (and done some other goals) in Scribblenauts if the idea had occured to him.

It's like a better version of Achievement Hunter GO. The co-op fighting a timer is better than everyone competing to complete one.

Commenting both for the algorithm and to say this was a great watch! I had a similar idea for friends to do over discord during pandemic times so seeing it done here with my favorite streamers is kind of boobalee.

Absolutely awesome series idea!
I think a rule that may be good to put in place would be something like "No (creative) sandbox games" because I think one could load up Tabletop Simulator and knock out half of the quests immediately which kinda feels out of the spirit of the format.
Quest list was really fun and varied, really liked how it brought out discussion and banter between the lads. Can't wait to see more of these with different casts!
Post-show discussion mentioned TTS was expected. There's also likely going to be a limit of one quest per game going forward so it doesn't make muich difference.

Yea Tabletop Simulator came to my mind immediately when they read shuffle, would have taken as long as it took to load and that's about it. GMod could handle a lot of stuff, too.

Since I am only familiar with one of these streamers it would be really helpful if you made the discord bubbles visible next time so I can differentiate who is talking.

very cool concept, watching it got me thinking about a few possible checklist ideas, jotted them down real quick for you, did some easy and harder versions
read a book,
block damage,
survive an attack with 1 hp left,
get first place in a race,
get a new high score,
kill an npc,
kiss an npc,
raise an enemy corpse as a minion,
revive and ally,
kill an enemy with a specific damage type (have them only use a specific damage type for harder version)
have a minion or pet get the killing blow on an enemy (have them solo with the minion for harder version)
eat a food (specific type for harder version),
craft an item (specific type for harder version),
drink a potion (specific type for harder version),
cast a spell (specific type for harder version),
craft a spell (specific type for harder version),
build a vehicle,
ride an animal,
ride/drive a vehicle (specific type for harder version),
die to a specific damage type (poison, burn etc.)
feed an animal, (specific type for harder version)
talk on a phone
beat a game,
beat the final boss of a game,
die to fall damage,
win a fight with no armor,
win a fight with no weapon,
chop some wood,
build a fire,
mine/gather a resource (specific type for harder version)
save a princess,
kill a king,
talk to an npc (specific dialogue option with an npc like lie or persuade for harder version),
buy an item (specific version for harder option like house, horse, etc.)
sell and item (specific version for harder version)

@@braxtengarrett2302 Dr.Disrespect lost an over-million-dollar contract and was banned from Twitch back in 2020. No details were ever given. Then a few days ago, an ex-Twitch employee said the reason for the ban was Dr Disrespect was caught sexting with a minor in Twitch whispers.

This was a great! The NLSS Boys a.k.a. Unity naturally as fellow streamers where all gaming is done on P.C. via Steam, I was over here with my mobile gaming mindset saying to my phone screen "Kill 5 Goblins and Build An Army of 100 Units is easy-peasy lemon squeezey on Clash of Clans", potentially could've covered Obtain A Legendary Item, too, if the definition of "Epic" would pass for Legendary.
Ryan's bypass through Scribblenauts was ingenious and DumbDog's Elden Ring character is a beast. I enjoy the Super Beard Bros. Elden Ring series but what they're doing over there is a niche hilarious Mario themed playthrough where they're getting stronger but pales in comparison to what we seen DD do. If it weren't Phil DeFranco I wouldn't have been clued in on the whole scummy conduct by the one dude but thanks to his coverage about it I was able to laugh along at Dan Gheesling's sick burn he made.

Cool idea, tho I think they shouldn't be able to use save files, since that makes it a lot easier to do some of these. Part of the fun is figuring out which game would be easier to speedrun to finish a quest imo

This is such an amazing concept for a game I can't believe it's not existed already! I can totally envision building a website for this of like a couple thousand quest ideas, and anyone can randomise the quests with their friends and test their game knowledge. Great job Baer!

Coming back to this to comment what I would've done for each, since I said I would do it every week on the episode that just came out.
Catch a Fish - To not repeat myself, I'm going with Runescape. I'm going to run out of games fast, I don't play a lot of games with fishing.
Unlock an Achievement - The game I plan to use for a lot of this week's has a ton of achievements and I don't have a lot of them, Total War Warhammer 3
Shuffle Your Deck - Quick load up of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, build a deck with a lot of searchers, boom.
Pet a Dog - Dark and Darker lobby, easy.
Kill 5 Goblins - Total War Warhammer 3 already loaded up, done in no time.
Get Arrested - I think I still have Starfield installed, so that shouldn't be too bad except for loading times.
Fire an Arrow Between Branches - I'm not confident in being able to do that in Palworld but that would be my first attempt. If that fails, ooh it's gonna be rough. Elden Ring a thought I had, and worst case scenario I'm looking at a long install for Skyrim.
Find an Umbrella - Took me a minute to figure it out, but Smite. Vamana uses an umbrella. Depends on your definition of "find" but I think it would count.
Build an Army - Total War Warhammer 3, instant. I'd have to ask how you define "Units" because in TWW3 one "Unit" can be like 120 dudes, but even if those 120 dudes only count as 1 I can still get to 100 relatively quickly.
Earn a Legendary Item - Hearthstone was my first thought, but I don't know if I want to spend the money. Assuming I don't, I'm probably farming Borderlands 3 bosses.
Defeat 3 Bosses - If I've already got Borderlands up that's easy. Otherwise it's Isaac speedrun time.

I like that this has vibes of Achievement Hunter's GO! series from back in the day, just expanded and team based.
Enjoyable new series should be entertaining to watch more of! A few suggestions for potential improvements to the challenges or format:
- Would create more game variance if only one quest was allowed to be completed per game.
- For the final quest, it might be nice to see every player have to contribute some progress toward the goal to prevent one player from doing everything.

Hey Baer, for the next episode, could you try to sync video with audio for the competitors? I found the async a bit frustrating and just fixed it by opening another delayed video in the background for the audio (but then you were out of sync).

Dan was on the right track with WoW; even if he didn't have game time, non-paid starter accounts can go up to level 20, and there are goblins in the Human starting area (Goblin Assassin, specifically). I think the only two things from this list that I couldn't get done in wow would be shuffling the deck (unless you count one of the Darkmoon Deck trinkets, but I don't know how familiar Baer is with wow to count that or not) and a hundred-unit army (unless you count battle and/or hunter pet stables lmao). (edit: I guess if he didn't have retail installed that'd be a problem though, since yeah classic you HAVE to have game time for. But also in classic those goblins aren't there, that's a revamped azeroth situation lol)
