This is the first P-Funk song with Jerome "Bigfoot" Brailey on drums and he's already laying down a master class in funk drumming. His playing on The Clones Of Dr. Funkenstein and Funkentelechy Vs. The Placebo Syndrome is the best of the entire genre.
Clinton calls all those different instruments, adding character in small bits and coming together to make a unique and full funky sound, "percolating. "
It was so wickedly wonderful to have been raised in the time of funk heaven. I first saw them in 1971 at 15 years old with 30 performers on an incredible stage set in all types of obscene costumes, getting stoned and playing some the FUNKIEST and the most BLAKHEDELIC grooves ever! I was blessed to be able to have this and to also hear Mahavishnu, YES, JONI, MILES, RAVI, DAN, STYLISTICS, SABBATH, HEEP etc ... all on the same day. To boogie & dance was just part of normal life. Sitting around to this wasn't even possible if not unimaginable.

You are correct sir, some movement like you don’t give a funk, is necessary or unintentional. This reminds me of my artist friend who introduced me to Parladelic. It among others was way funkier than I was used to, except maybe There’s A Riot Going On by Sly And The Family Stone. This was a perfect morning celebration since he’s now a Kansas City homeboy. Great oviod ball game last night.
Been fighting reflux most of the night though, pizza and beer hit me sideways… feel better this morning and the music helped me move on down the funky road.

Mothership Connection's a great album. My favourite PFunk album - and probably my favourite live album of all time - is the Live PFunk Allstars album, Live at the Beverly Theatre LA. It has incredible live versions of Cosmic Slop, Give up the Funk and Maggot Brain, particularly. You ought to listen to that one. Funkentelechy would be a great album track to do, as well. It's got some really funny lyrics delivered with great vocals (as always) over super-smooth super-funky music (as always), and it's a nice long one.
You should do a De La Soul reaction in memory of Trugoy! I think it'd be your first hip-hop video as well
