  • This 3rd gen Tacoma is coming together! When Toyota built this truck they probably didn't envision some dude tossing a red camo wrap and 38s on it lol but I wanted to make something worth building. This is a purpose built rock crawler and I wanted it to look wild! Giant fenders, crazy colors and the right parts to make it super capable. Today we will install some fiberglass, install the suspension and give it a new look! Next week... LOTS of tube work 👊.

As a jeeper, if you told me a 5" travel shock was on my jeep I would cry. But it seems this thing does amazingly well. It shows how good of a fabricator you really are. Solid Axle, or IFS you can do it. Unreal man.

I have 12” F and 14” R 3-way Dobinsons on my HDJ81 Landcruiser. It’s hard to comprehend “only” having a 5” travel shock. Just shows how much mounting points, and leverage ratios, goes into a IFS. I want to say that he’s going to have over 12” of actual wheel travel. Crazy!

Watching other rock-crawlers crawl with their 25 year-old 4runners or SAS pickups made me hate my decision to get a 3rd gen Tacoma. All the 3rd gen owners are just light trail overlanding fanboys but these last few videos have brought life back into wanting to build out my newer Taco. Overlanding is fun but getting dirty with the technical trails is the real fun part so I'm really excited to see how this monster does on the actual trails. Get TONS of footage for us! Thanks Nate

I like the design choice on your hood. As someone that has a wrap on in the PNW (3M 1080 Gloss Liquid Copper and Satin Black for trim), I'm constantly surprised at how well it holds up to brushy trails. Sure you can see hundreds of scratches, but brush rarely makes it thru the vinyl. Still going strong after 2.5 years. I'm hoping for 5 years. Plus its easy to repair small nicks with just sticking little patches over the existing wrap in the same color.

I'm thinking if I buy a new truck and it's white to get a wrap done, at least partially, and concerned about durability since I will be out hunting and hauling firewood etc. Some limbs dragging down the side of vehicle and rocks bouncing off it probably.
