They are a joy to drive if you don’t beat them up. The B30 is a very happy engine at high rpms (Highway Merging). Change the variable valve timing solenoids when you buy a used one, do an oil change (don’t go cheap), balance your tires, and always keep that premium fuel. You’ll get 10’s of 1,000’s of miles out of them.
I have owned one from new - now over 17 years old, but I also have a great mechanic who will do an annual service for less than US$300. It has always been a perfect daily driver. BTW my other car is a Ferrari F599 - N/A V12 - enough said.
I have owned the 330i for about 10 years only major issues I had was the water pump BMW wanted 1k to replace.it’s a joy to drive still very nippy. Bit juicy in town but on the motorway you get miles to the gallon ❤
These really are awesome cars. Yup to do water pump and thermostat in New Zealand is approx $2500 at the dealership and these are not belt driven. Please consider subscribing to my UA-cam Channel for free if you haven't already.
hey man would you happen to know why my coolant temp is stuck at 80 degrees C ? No codes present. This problem has rattled my head for a long time, no obvious solutions. Only get over 95 on the highway.

No check engine light but I had a code. Cant recall the code the first time I replaced the thermostat but the second time was 002EFE (MAP- controlled thermostat mechanics). MPG improved after replacing the thermostat. @@bobaphat3676
@Mahoraga-ii8gm Hi, I would say it is a very good car, but you have to have some money saved up for repairs if you are not mechanically inclined. I always tell people have about 1.5k to 2k reday for maintenance . I have a dedicated video on reliability. Please consider subscribing to my UA-cam Channel for free if you haven't already
It is really a nice car . It does have navigation but mine is imported from Japan so has Japanese navigation . There are a few known issues but overall solid car
I have this exact model. Bought it used with 70k miles. I love it so far. It's pretty responsive and kinda fast. I catch myself doing 90 Easley if I don't pay attention on the fwy. Plus it's really easy to maintain. At least so far it has been. Changing the oil is so easy. I don't think you can go wrong.

Hey, each comes with it's own pros and cons. If you get it from a dealership you will pay more but there would likely be consumer guarantees act whereas if you buy it from a private party it would be cheaper but more of an as is where is.

@@adnanmoazzem4146 Hi Adnan, thanks for the comment 😊. There are a variety of reasons as to why car prices are high . Yes that semiconductor theory is also part of it. With the pandemic hitting there is too much demand with limited supply (in materials). They charge more per unit for a new car and drives up used car prices too . Last year rental companies sold off rental cars due to no demand for rentals and this pushed prices down, but now there is a demand for it and rental companies are facing a shortage of cars. This is now contributing to used car prices increasing . In regards to the timing of buying a car , I am unable to come to a conclusion , as a year or two ago not many people anticipated car prices to increase now , but at the same time I can't say if the car prices will drop again - but looking unlikely to. The way it looks the price of your current car might follow the same direction in price of your next purchase so possibly not much risk . Subaru are not bad cars , but regardless of brand each model has its issues. What year and power plant were you thinking ? Boxer Engine or non boxer ?
@@DocMackGarage first of all thank you so much for taking the time to explain. Really appreciate your hardwork. I am planning to buy the 2.5 litre boxer engine
@@adnanmoazzem4146 You are most welcome. The boxer engines are not too bad , but might need to lookout for head gasket issues at later mileage . I have a video on how to check that. I am pretty sure they are flat 4 engines which means it is two pistons which are opposite to each other I.e 2 banks of cylinders and 2 cylinder heads .I am not sure which year you are after, but things like spark plug replacements etc are not as easy as Inline 4 cylinder but they are still good cars.
@@DocMackGarage no I haven’t yet but I did it to a 2011 528i and made 316 crank before the milvs and I usually run a 125-150 or 175 shot with it if I’m felling lucky lol. Was a really fun car and surprised everyone I raced
