- Hi Folks. Today we show you Huemens Bos Caravan Site, Nijmegen, Holland, plus local places to visit. This video is a little long but we wanted to cram 10 days into one video. Best watched with a brew.

Took me back there Phil & Juliet visited the Evoluon Phillips museum not long after it opened in 60’s as a child, long time ago. Must revisit Netherlands.
Hi Colin. I am glad it took you back. The Philips Museum was really cool as I love my tech so this perfect for me. Juliet liked the Social History of it all. I have to admit we have kind of fell in love with Holland such a lovely Country. Thanks P&J👍🙂

We visited Heumens in May. Loved the area. Not too impressed with the site or pitches. We had enough room when first set up but by the weekend we’re surrounded by vans and tents as they crammed as many in as they could. Loved your vlog tho. We also pitched up at Delfte Hout and loved it. So easy to walk into town. Looking forward to your next one.
Hi Thanks for watching. Yes the site is a little tired and could do with an update. The grounds could do with some work. The shop we thought was very poor. I guess we were lucky as our pitch was huge but it was not very level. We used it as abase to visit the museums etc. Now Delft hout was special a lovely site. Thanks again for watching. Museums look really interesting and well payed out the last one especially , Phillips ? Didn’t even know it existed but great to see my kind of gadgets 😂😂 apple cake hmmmm
Hello Gav n Z. I have to admit I didn't know Philips had a museum either but i thought i was at your house😂. I know how technical you are. The apple cakes were lovely, I tried about 6 different Dutch apple cakes from different regions. Thanks Phil & Juliet🙂👍
Hi Phil & Juliet, Your pitch was in a nice setting and with good privacy 👍. Very interesting museums particularly Airbornemuseum Hartenstein near Arnhem. Yes we do remember pressing buttons to change tv channels 😀and I see Phil was ready for battle in the castle. Did you take some Dutch apple cake back to the caravan 😁. All the best, Rob & Gail
Hi Gail & Rob. The pitch was quite private but it was not very even. The Museums were very good. Philips didn't have a VCR with the wired remote. I remember tripping over the over the cable or fighting with my Brother regarding who was recording The Tube on Friday evenings😂 . No Apple cake at the Van but every time we were out I would sample each regions version. I am a Dutch Apple Cake expert now. Thanks for watching Phil🙂👍
The card issue in the Netherlands is very common. Apple pay doesn't appear to be effected. We also used a chase card which worked in most places.
Hello. We had brought cash and had debt and credit cards. We used the cash in the supermarkets, debt for museums etc and credit card for fuel. This worked out better for us. The charges on our cards were quite low as well which was a bonus. Thanks for watching Phil & Juliet. 👍🙂
@lostweekendscaravan we found card was OK in the aldi/lidl, jumbo and Albert Heijn. If you have a vegetarian with Albert Heijn had a far better selection. Petrol was where we expericed the most problems and apple pay usually overcame that if you went to a larger facility.
Can't beat a bit of privet on the boundary for privacy and keeping other camper's dogs out 😉Apologies if I missed it but what does site name translate as?
Just back from charming CL alongside the Shropshire Union canal.
HI Martin. Bos means forrest. We were lucky that our pitch was large and yes a privet hedge on one side. The site was nice but could do with a spruce up and weeding around the pool area. Hope you had a good time in Shropshire. Shropshire is my favourite please in the UK. We are there in September at one of our beloved sites. Thanks for watching. Phil & Juliet👍🙂
