Hello Dr Becky thank you for this informative video. It was ver helpful. When my dad went on a diet to lose 80 pounds, he used to eat lots of vegetables and chicken breast cooked or grilled for breakfast. Sometimes he would have bone broth with it as well. In other words he would eat his dinner for breakfast and he was full 3/4 of the day. There are tons of breakfast options if one would consider eating protein in the morning.

I rarely eat breakfast. I like to fast for about 18 hours each day before eating my first meal. I really don’t get hungry for breakfast. Thank you for the good advise. Joanne Kohn I don't eat dairy and went with the soy yoghurt - we can get little packs of four in fruit flavours with pretty low sugar. It tastes a bit strange for the first few days, but now I'm totally used to it and, indeed, love it! I just have it with fruit and some sort of crunchy seed mix. Delicious!

Sounds good but I can’t do soy either. I tried coconut and almond milk yogurts but I can’t seem to like them. I do make smoothies with nut milks and they’re ok. I make vegan cheese and that’s ok too. For me, nothing replaces the taste of cows milk products! Oh well, that’s life! 🤗.

I'm American retired in Indonesia, with my wife and I trying low-carb diet. We do not have all those fancy foods here that you show in this video, and I suspect many others do not have access to those fancy, and expensive diet foods. I try to keep my b/f somewhat healthy with oatmeal (once per week), but I must also use cinnamon powder, stevia, butter and raisins to make a nice meal. However, I break the low-carb with one slice of whole wheat toast. Most other mornings, it's cereal … I know, too much carbs, but so easy and so nice. Only a few times per month I'll have two fried eggs on one whole wheat toast with one tomato. BTW, my wife and I have been drinking ACV/lemon twice / day for 6 months, and I've lost 20 lbs., she's lost 10. So now, we only want to maintain.

Along the same lines of a couple of other questions I have asked you, doesn’t all of this saturated fat raise your cholesterol levels? With high LDL, the MDs then want you to take statins. I think statins are dangerous in certain ways especially with memory loss issues,But how do we go about keeping our cholesterol low if we’re eating all of the saturated fat? I don’t get it.

I'm interested to know what you think of pumpernickel (true German style) which has only Rye in it, so the carbs are basically pentosans. It doesn't form glucose - its a C-5 sugar and the glycemic index is about 1. I like a slice for breakfast plus it has the benefit of being one of the best substrates in the lower colon for forming butyric acid.

Certainly sounds interesting. I can't say that true German-style pumpernickel as you describe would be easy to find in a local grocery store.

Need some keto brekkies. Unless its a leafy green or lettuces I only eat 20g net carbs in a whole day. 12g in one smoothie would kill that lol

In talking about keto coffee, you said it is not considered a whole food. Do you mean the MCT oil only or all of it? I thought, although they are beverages, coffee and heavy cream would fall under the whole foods umbrella.

I have a better idea. Dont eat breakfast too early. Just Fast through till midday or 1pm, then eat your healthy snack.
