Looks like a well planned track and would be fun to drive on. Thanks for sharing. Only two real “problem” areas is a great result. Not too difficult for newcomers to learn where a bit of patience / control is required. Nicely landscaped too. Well built, sir!
Thanks Stewart. The first time I had a newcomer over with average driving skills it only took him about 30 minutes to get used to the track. When he did that I was thinking that the track is too easy, but in retrospect I guess I would rather have the flow and have to concentrate on your passing skills. With only a few places to pass you definitely have to plan ahead.
@@dw5555 LOL, have you clicked the link? Pretty much any computer or phone/tablet will work. You just need to follow the prompts to allow Zoom to run in your browser, or install the app. If you ever want to "practice" just PM me on SCI or something and I'll set up a direct chat to practice with.
Cool track. Just a heads up. Never coast any cars around corners, it’s like having the handbrake on, if you have the a bit of current going through the track the cars can handle a fraction higher speed without flying off.
Thanks for the comment Bill. You're right, the track is easy enough to learn but you have to be conscience of certain areas otherwise it would be to easy.
Dave- how did you determine that the outside lane was .2 volts higher than the inside? I run Scalexric digital (4 lane) but I have always wondered if I have enough jumpers. Can you post a video how you checked? Thanks.
I agree BUT I will be the first to admit that if you have a side by side battle going on you have a habit of pushing the limits just that little bit than you normally would and as much as I've driven this track I do get caught sometimes pushing to far.
Hey John, I cut them all from existing track. Just cut down the centerline of the track and use whatever lane you need. In the video the single curve right at the Chevrolet sign is actually an uncut 1/60 curve. I knew I needed a border there and Carrera doesn't make borders for cut track so I just removed the metal rails from the outside lane and used bondo to fill in the slot. Sand and paint.
Thanks for the reply, I am getting as much information as I can before I jump into this new hobby adventure. Again, thanks your videos are helping many people like me.
Good question as I was wondering the same thing. The gray looks much better than the plastic black. I don’t know why Carrera supply track in gray grip surfaces
Sounds like the people driving on your track don't actually have a track of their own. Anyone can learn how to drive on any track. They need to come over more often and practice.

What a great looking layout. Well done!
Thanks Rick!
Love this track, I see no problem areas!!!! :-)
Very cool track! Colour is realistic looking. Like the elevation change.
Thanks
Truly inspirational. I can't wait to retire so I'll have time to take something like that on.
Thanks John, it was fun to build.
Great looking track. I've always appreciated your input on the videos or on the slot car forums. Great job.
Thanks, I try..
I really like your track, I wish I had that much room.
amazing layout, best Pit Lane iv seen so far.
It's really worked out well.
If I'm ever in the area, be sure I'll invite myself over. ;-)
Anytime Greg. You can show me how to Zoom so I can join in..Lol

Very nice track and explanation. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks..
Epic track
awesome layout !!!!!
Thanks Parry!

Cars come off in turns? Sounds normal to me. If they didn't, it wouldn't be much fun or challenge. Great track you have there!

Hey Chris, all you need is a voltmeter. Set it to 20V and put the test leads on the rails at different points on the track. Easy peasy.
I don`t see any problem areas?? It just forces people to have to drive their cars which makes the racing funner!!

Great track, where did you find the single lane curves.?

Have you painted the track ?
And if so what type of paint have you used ?
I just used Behr house primer tinted to a color I wanted. It's been on for about 5 yrs now with no lifting or ill effects.
Hi, better grip with painted surface? Rubber or urethane tires? Magnets?
Good question as I was wondering the same thing. The gray looks much better than the plastic black. I don’t know why Carrera supply track in gray grip surfaces

Very true. About 95% don't have a track of their own and have limited experience.
Not a fan of your painted track.
To each his own John. I did it for aesthetic reasons. The cars really show up better on the grey track.
@@dw5555 you do good work.
