Awesome set up. Your so crafty. Your inspiring me to make mine look better
G'day mate awesome work, great to have Aussies doing slot cars
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice Work Hughe You have really lit up the slot car space with your vibrant commentary and awesome content. Thank you for all this awesome new video content it is inspiring
Thanks!!! Hey, by the way, I'd really like to add you to my 'UA-cam Mt Rushmore', as Dave from SlotR puts it 🤣 Would that be okay? I'd just grab a screenshot of your logo off one of your vids.
@@HughesGarageSCA I would be honoured
Couldn't agree more Rahul !!! Great techniques that are simple to follow.
Great cinematography of the slot car race!
Thanks. It was a challenge, still very much experimenting.
😂love your delivery Hughe , Travis told me about your channel and that I needed to check it out!! Glad I did. Just subscribed to ya🎉
Woo Hoo, we got Boone!!! Welcome aboard, mate. Wow! 😁. Hey, I’d love to add your ‘Boone’s Slot Car Garage’ logo to my layout’s ‘UA-cam Mt Rushmore’, if that’s okay with you? I’d just grab a screenshot and make a little billboard like the others featured so far. And thanks so much for subscribing. 😎🏁
@@HughesGarageSCA 😂 no worries.. I would be proud to be part of your mountain area 😂
Wow beautiful track > Great job and awesome video’s
!!!!!!
Many thanks!!
Brilliant video, I love the fact you throw a load at these videos and the kitchen sink! What should and could've been 5 stand-alone videos, thank you for doing a decent session, I've learnt so much in this and ready to use some on my track soon. Keep them coming, your editing is to die for ledge!! 😲🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much, Pete. Ultimately I’m working towards making these ‘episodes’ like a video equivalent of a slot car magazine, with several regular segments etc. But for now it’s a matter of trial and error until the format is perfected. Big ongoing learning curve. Cheers mate. 🏎️😎🏁
Really great video ,the track is fantastic
cheers mate
Glad you enjoyed it
Good day mate love your channel keep great work

Ooohh I made it to UA-cam Mt Rushmore !!!! thanks Shane 🤩
I have to use that now, UA-cam Mt Rushmore. 😂
Looking really good. Great work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the billboards
Great touches to your layout, it looks very cool
Thank you very much!
Great explanation to the issue with wireless controllers and it’s the exact reason why I prefer analog your reaction is transferred instantly down the cable which in turn means you have fully control of the car (unless it derails or a break in the cable) with wireless your not entirely in control you have acted but you have to still wait for all the modules to talk to each other and perform your decisions that’s enough to cost you a race or derail the car without your interaction or your over-reaction due to lack of understanding of lag
The standard Carrera 'wireless' sets are perfectly okay for normal everyday use, really. But when you up the stakes for 'high speed racing' with tyre changes and other performance enhancement mods, that slight latency delay indeed can become an issue (for some). You just can't go wrong with a quality 'hardwired' cable. My opinion.😎👍
Shane great entertaining video your doing great 👍. Thanks for shout out ! Nice looking Billboard haha . Have you looked into Just Plug by woodland scenics? A little pricey but know it would help with lighting on the top of your bridges. Track looks great. Thanks for sharing.
I will check it out, thanks
Thanks for this video - it's really helpful and I really enjoyed your presentation style. I'm just coming to Scalextric from a modelling background. Really looking forward to getting a baseboard and some scenery going :)
Well done mate I like your layout!!!
Thanks a lot!
with all the bling bling going on; let's not see this is a great technical course ... worthy of serious racing. Excellent track.
Thanks!
awesome find, thank you. oh, and the fun begins @ 1:08 lol
Overall looks brilliant, those columns though 😂
Holy Cow! Man - this is the best slot car racing vid I have seen yet, on UA-cam! Incredible!! Amazing what you did with your track, and it is so cool how you showed the new additions coming together, and bringing your set-up to life, even more than it already was. Amazing! Love it. I'm just getting started, after not messing with slot cars since I was a Kid.... quite a while ago. You've absolutely inspired me! Subbing immediately!
Welcome aboard. Fasten your seatbelts. We're just testing the boundaries and getting warmed up! Try the... 'Who will be the new King of the Garage' vid in the meantime. Cheers!
❤😎
This is why men need a companion that is into crafts. I know you will have to deal with them decorating the track for Christmas but crafty ladies or men can do all kinds of scenery.
Nice work.
Sweet track mate..!!
like those bridge supports
Great work with the video.
I am trying to set up some “Standard” scenery elements so they can boxed up when my track is dismantled. Getting some ideas from your video.
Thanks.
Thanks Raymond. Yes, good idea. Nothing on my layout is permanent. It could all be packed away in less than an hour. 😎🏁
i would love to get it a spin on your track
Love your work. What is your table size?
Hi Todd. It's a modest 2.4 x 4.8 meters, a nice snug fit for the garage with just enough room for marshaling. 🤠🏁
Crikey! where dya get all those tyres from?
Nice inspiration! Beautiful! How much space does your track take up?
@@MapleLeaf0269 2.4 x 4.8 meters
Looking good, what a beautiful layout... can you tell me where you get the Red / White Barrels from?
ebay, a UK seller - WASP
What was your logical plan in acquiring all those tires 🛞? Great informative helpful video. My daughter and I are starting our own slot car track. Thank you mate👍🏻 Australia 🇦🇺 USA 🇺🇸 👍🏻👍🏻🏎⛽️🛞
Thanks. I found those decorative tyres on AliExpress. Ordered a box to try out for some tyre wall features and they were absolutely perfect for what I needed, so got several more boxes. Very good quality, nicely detailed, and super cheap. And you can also get them in several scale sizes.
Happy Sunday
You too!!
Where do you get such a great deal on tires that you can fill that track with them.
AliExpress. They are decorative 1:28 scale tyres, approx 40 in a little box, for around $12.
While I'm a fan of scenery and dioramas, not for slot car tracks. This stuff is very appropriate for trains but trains are all about the visual elements and they don't race (usually). It's the competition element that sort of kills this idea for me.
Competitive racing demands clean clear lines of sight with minimal visual distractions and that need really doesn't blend well with scenery imho.
Then there's the beating that all your hard decorating work experiences during races where turn marshals tend to be less concerned with some of the more delicate visual elements and more concerned with grabbing a de-slotted car and getting it back in to the race as quickly as possible.
There are a few decoration elements that are appropriate for slot car tracks but they usually don't include things that stick up off the surface like buildings or trees or even road signs or streetlights.
I've seen some beautifully decorated slot car tracks in all scales but, if you plan on doing some actual racing, I just don't think it's practical overall.
Super, what is the music? Thanks
Thanks, mate. I produce all my own original music. 😎👍🏁
Where did you buy the tires that you used as a barrier? It's on the 10 minute frame.

Mate-your narration and humor makes my day! Hey- I’d love a billboard for my channel, “Full Earth Workshop!” Subscribed!
All the best, Doug
Thanks, Doug. A Full Earth Workshop on the UA-cam Mt Rushmore, huh? Done! 😎🏁
@@HughesGarageSCA Dude! That would be awesome! I think King Shane should appear with the presidents on Mt. Rushmore! You are, after all, sovereign over all you survey! Post soon…I need a good laugh!
