    Hi! I have to say, your video was very helpful. I am utilizing your idea of using the large clamp things as yarn bobbins, such an amazing idea. So I've bought some of those clamps and I can't hear your video, but wanted to just note, if anyone else is trying this idea, don't wind the yarn too tightly around the clip. If you do, it won't be able to open properly. Great video!!!!

    if you use a wooden dowel you can clip the bobbins onto that wooden dowel and never have to clip and unclip over and over.

    Hi and thank you for your excellent tutorial! X I'm a beginner still with Crochet but have been sucked in to the whole C2C Graphgan thing lol I've spent the last couple of days designing a Thomas the Tank onto graph paper and had a couple of plain coloured trial runs of 10x10 squares to get an idea of size. tonight I have been unsuccessfully trying to use 4 bobbins of the many I will be using to perfect the technique before getting on to the real thing. EPIC FAIL! :'( mostly due to not being able to carry the yarn to where I needed it as well as untidy ends. This idea of having duplicate starting points for the same colour thread is perfect as is using the jumbo pegs (inspired) I've never seen those where I live in England so will need to figure out an alternative. It's almost midnight here and I've just given up in despair but I now feel ready to try again tomorrow, thank you xxx

    When starting a graphgan with bobbles, do you have to double the number for the starting chain

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  6 років тому +3

      Nonna M Yes, I begin with one plain row of sc, twice as many stitches wide as are in my graph with no color changes, just a solid base row to begin with. Example,, 50 blocks wide in graphs, i begin with 100 sc. Each block on your graph will consist of two rows & 4 stitches and all will be of the same color. row 1 is the bobble and the sc that follows, row two is the sc on top of the bobble and the sc on top of the sc that followed the bobble. Hope that helps!

    • @CrochetverseChannel

      I suppose it would. But I feel like because they are so much smaller you would be constantly reloading them which could get annoying. Do you have a Dollar Tree? They are only 1.00 for 4 or 5 in a pack!

    for your bobble stitch, how many dc did you do for your bobble? is it a personal choice? All the videos are 5. I like a little smaller.

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  7 років тому

      cheryl grier hello I do prefer bobbles be done with 5 double crochets for graph because then the image looks the best to me. But that would be a personal choice for you! also for my turning chains on double crochet I prefer a chain 2 as opposed to a chain 3. But you would want to not do a chain one. Hope that helps!

    Hello, I just found your tutorials & love this one. I want to use bobbins but just cannot understand how to carry them from one row to the next without it showing. What advice can you offer? So I literally cut & restart with each color.

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  7 років тому

      Traci Austin Murdaugh Hi! If you message me on my Facebook page at facebook.com/crochetverse I can send some UA-cam links to show you how to do it that I found helpful. You can usually carry up one row and to the right and left one (sometimes 2) stitches. if you have random bloops of the color all over, you will need a bobbin for each. send me a message and show me a graph you are thinking of making and I can try to help!

    • @loving110995
      @loving110995 8 років тому

      it's best that you got 5 packs.. I'm wishing now I had some for the Superman graphgan I just made.. well I only did the logo part so far.. so I may go get some soon when I get ready to do the word part. I'm constantly having to rearrange my yarns and I've kinda learned a system on how to flip it one way then flip the opposite way to keep the yarn from becoming a tangled mess.. still isn't the easiest thing to do though.. and I have two cats and two dogs the dogs enjoy playing on top of or sleeping on the yarn.. the cats like sleeping on it or playing with it.. I also have two children living with me. my niece and nephew. the largest place for me to work is my bed of course but not the safest. so when I'm done for the day I have to put all mine in a bag. and I was working with I think it was 17 different balls of yarn at once. this clip things would've worked great. to me 6 wouldn't be enough.. 30 should be.. and if one breaks you have an extra..

    Sorry. another question. how do you know how many chains to make to start?

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  7 років тому

      cheryl grier It will depend on yoir graph, but your 1st row is going to be a row of sc that will be 2x the number of however many blocks you have across on the 1st row of your graph (for the bobble stitch style) For example, if your graph is 50 blocks wide, you will chain 101, so you can sc into the 2nd chain from the hook and have 100 sc in tbe 1st row (50 x 2). This is your base row and the pattern will begin on the next row. Check out the Seattle Seahawks Bobble Graphgan on repeatcrafterme.com. She has a video on it too!

    ok so we changge the color at the sc in between the boobles ? am i understanding it right

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  9 років тому

      Hi! Each block on the graph consists of the bobble, the sc after it, then also the 2 sc on top of those stitches on the next row. So, you will change color at the final yarn over and pull through of the single crochet BEFORE the bobble where a color change is needed. always do a color change at the final yarn over and pull through of the stitch just PRIOR to the one you need a new color on. Hope this helps!

    • @CrochetverseChannel

      Not with the c2c stitch because it is worked corner to corner. But graphgans can also be done in bobble stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and even double crochet though I do not prefer the dc. Those are all worked side to side

      Mary Fender Would depend on your yarn and tension, but I prefer graphgans more tightly stitched for better image definition. I am a fairly tight crocheter and using worsted weight yarn. The hook would be G or H :)

  • @michellegoodney9201

    Hi I have a question, when you have a graph that is for a sc but says it can be worked in a c2c how do you calculate the number of c2c verses sc's? I know c2c would be a lot bigger if I go by the same graph.

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  7 років тому

      Michelle Goodney each Square on the graph will equate to 1 block of C2C. to understand that, go to my channel and watch the video on C2C. I bet that clears things up for you!!

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  6 років тому

      I honesty do not know what you are asking. This video here I made is English. The graphs you follow are just an image therefore would cross all languages the same. Are you asking me how to find videos in English to learn how to do C2C? If yes. Search the Crochet Crowd and look within their tutorials.

      Graphs are usually an image and that is it. When they are deciphered into written from the graphed picture, that usually means they end up being paid patterns as there is quite a bit of time involved in that process. You can try repeatcrafterme.com too. That would be my best advice. Hope you find what you are looking for!

    Ok, I'm a little confused and seem to be the only one. LOL Since you are using the bobbins and you are NOT cutting as you go, where are all those tails coming from?

    • @CrochetverseChannel
      @CrochetverseChannel  9 років тому

      hi! you can only carry the yarn usually one block up, left, or right without it showing through, so, when the color moves to a spot further than that, you need to cut and rejoin, the bobbins reduce the tails, but you'll still have what seems like a ton ha!

      Can I ask for your help? Do you have any good links to how to write up a c2c graphghan? I want to do a storm trooper one for my husband but I can't work from a picture as I just can't keep track.
      I want to figure out how many bobbins to prep x

      Try stitchfiddle.com
      you will want to select "embroidery version" . You will need to tell it the size you want.
      Baby: 35 blocks wide
      Twin: 49 blocks wide
      Queen/Full: 70 blocks wide.
      Using size H /5mm hook every 7th square is approx 6" depending on your tension. Hope this helps!
