I make sure to stretch properly, roll, apply some muscle balm, apply heart, decent sleep, get a proper massage, drink electrolytes. There’s lots that can contribute to tight calves!
What is the next big race ahead ? Start early, and Training for next year great north run. Aim for top 20. How is the sub-30 for 10k and sub-67 for half-marathon… Two months left, but I think you gave up on those goals…😂
If ive not lost fitness, Ive certainly lost something (whether it be sharpness or whatever.) In total I had a week of tapering for my Half, then a complete week off and a week off easy running... so ive kinda had 3 weeks away from proper training which I can certainly feel - but im glad you can feel what my body feels lad ;)
Cole, you’re a sub-15 runner. 16:54 what ? No… no … you should not have your name associate with that time, even a 1st place. There is no podium, no medal for Parkruns. Btw.. that Parkrun path is a bit narrow. It will be a stampede if a huge crowd is going through there. 😂.
Unfortunately sometimes you have to revise goals. I changed to focus on track this year, something that has very much changed my fitness level over the longer distances. It is not something I regret but not something I will do again. Thank you for your negativity, it has been duely noted.

How do you deal with calf tightness... Literally feel like my calves are chronically tight and in pieces after every run... Even with Massage gun etc.
