Rocky you inspired me to start fostering dogs. My last foster dog was a dog named Rip, he was a black lab. He got adopted on April 1 and now we’re fostering a yellow lab named duster. Thank you for being an inspiration and I hope that all of the dogs in the shelter get adopted❤❤🐶🐶🐾🐾
I saved a dog yesterday! Thanks to you Rocky, I was able to think logically when a saw a dog running scared. Leo was reunited with his family. Shout out to Wanaque Borough dispatcher who was an animal control officer who helped get Leo home.
I was short on food once, but most of my life we had a huge garden. We didn't starve, but down to spaghetti noodles, no sauce before payday. I never forgot that hungry year we moved to a new state. My garden feeds me like a queen and each week I give a sack of groceries to someone who needs it. One of my passions. Everyone deserves food.
Can I suggest you buy a small bag of dog food to be in your car. When you see a homeless person with a dog they always say yes because it’s easier for them to get food than their pet. Add a paper bowl and a bottle of water. I need to edit this now. The other day I gave the food to the first homeless couple who didn’t say thank you or any acknowledgment. What I know now the food wasn’t for them but their dog and I’m sure the dog said thank you every time he got to eat. Thanks enough for me.
She's definitely smart, I pray she finds the right person. This dog will need adventures of some sort, or a job, or sport training. Dont waste her natural characteristics.
I am autistic. I understand, I have turned animals around, I just being patient, quiet, and allowing the animal to work through their emotions. Full panic mode I do not think nor can I control myself. This is how I know how I feel. When I was a child, my parents tried to call me down with words and sometimes holding me. I would become worse. What I needed was for them to just be quiet, still, for them to relax let me work through the panic, manifested as a tantrum.
My son is autistic aswell and we learned that when he has a panic attacks, we just keep calm, quiet and just watch that he is safe. He knows when he has panic attacks he can have his space, and he can count on us not to talk, not to touch him, but be there for when he is ready to have a hug. And I can see how he appreciates our understanding and every time panic attacks get shorter and hugs longer. Same tactic i apply to anxious dogs. Latest example, I was babysitting a friend's dog, who is scared of everyone but me, because I was just there for her, patient and let her come to me for a hug. I am amazed of what Rocky and Kelly are doing, dogs can't talk, but they need us to understand and respect them, same as the humans. ❤
Reece looks just like my foster fail Tucker. He was also 5 when he came into my foster home. He was in a domestic violence situation and is terrified of men. He is fear reactive and after 1.5 yrs in my foster care and not one application he became my boy. I love him so, and he has such a sweet heart, and nothing that happened was his fault. So now I get to love him for the rest of his life.
It’s so hard for Reese to lose her owner. I’m so happy she realizes everyone is there to help her. She’s a beautiful dog. Someone will scoop her up and take her home! We are all routing for you Reese to find your forever home!
Teaching tricks is such a good bonding tool, and dogs gain confidence from mastering a skill. I love that she offered behavior for the treats! She initiated that communication.
The second Reese’s name was called her tail became untucked. Amazing! Sadly she tucked her tail back. Whenever you said her name she untucked her tail again. She’s a sweet beautiful girl but has been through a lot. 😢 I’m glad you’re showing that aggression is not a “self fulfilling prophecy” for all of these dogs.
Thank you for saying it loud!: it is never the dogs's 'fault'. Always human's 'fault'. That counts for all animals: it is never ever the 'fault' of the animal.
For most of my life (40) I've not really been around dogs due to a phobia after being badly bitten twice by the same dog as a kid. The last 5-6 years I've been chilling in my local park and there were so many dog walkers and I've kinda slowly gotten used to getting closer and managed to pet some. Now i love to interact with every every doggo i see (with owners permission first) and i absolutely love dogs, especially Staffies ❤ I'm really starting to understand the body language of dogs too, especially watching your videos. I'm still predominately a crazy cat lady, but I've also discovered a deep affection for doggies too ❤ Thank you Rocky for advocating for these precious furbabies xxx
My brother was bitten in the face when he was 5. He ended up breeding yellow and chocolate labs. It took some work but he loved them and v.v. Your patience and courage will pay off!
Rocky, your childhood experiences with not having money and having had dogs has brought you to paying it forward in this animal calling that you have now. Everything happens for a reason!
the fact that she took treats and was offering sits even while fearful & anxious is amazing, and it just shows how resilient and trusting she is. she’ll be an incredible companion to whoever brings her home
Rocky! I was watching you “sitting with dogs” while I was grooming my pup. Every time you told Reese to sit, my pup sat! I was trying to keep him standing -so I just gave up. 😂 Thanks for all you do! I’m loving the Flip coffee and Bean tees I bought.

I just lost my dog last month, so I am not ready to get another one, but we have welcomed Harley, a foster dog. He's so sweet, and I hope to find his forever home. ❤ God bless you, Rocky for your compassion.
@rachelkilby5829 His name was Jasper. He was a stray that wandered up to our house. Even though we had two other dogs, I convinced my husband to keep him. He was 16, so he lived a good long life. Thank you for your kind words. 😇
@@theresataylor6675 It must have been lovely for Jasper to have two other siblings to help him adjust to no longer being a stray. I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you and your husband.

Reese is gorgeous, what a sweetheart! Thanks to you and your team for all you do - your videos are so uplifting, and the dogs are always such cuties. I'm going off to donate to the shelter now too!
Hey Rocky. Asking for quick prayers for 17 1/2 year old dog. We rescued her when she was just 6 from a kill shelter. She's been really for the 2 weeks. We're worried. She's beeb a great dog. Our Brooklyn is your flip.
She is so beautiful surely someone is going to want her. She needs more love. Brought tears to my eyes seeing her with you. God bless you Rocky. I pray for a happy ending. Thank you for working so hard this week to get these babies adopted.
Reecè got a Reese toy! How much of a coincidence is that!! That's a good omen! Reece/Reese is a beautiful girl and yes, a good intelligent girl❤❤❤Love you girl ❤❤❤ Thanks for all you and your team do to help this shelter 😊
My granddaughter has a dog that looks exactly like this pup. She is the smartest, most intelligent and trainable did I know. Very quick learner. She also trembles with strangers, loud noises and riding in the car. Our dog loves to be around other dogs. Super friendly and super fast runner. She looks like a ‘Carolina dog’. Perfect family pet.
I know same! They all deserve it but I really hope they see past the scared reactivity because she will be a great dog for someone! Especially an active person!
She is so beautiful, and so intelligent. I feel so sorry for all the dogs who are currently in a shelter. I cannot wait for the right time to adopt one, but unfortunately circumstances do not permit it right now. Makes me sad. But I am thinking about the future and how I will make a dog so happy one day.
The look on Reese’s face when you started to give her positive affirmations and tell her you were sorry, it was like she understood every word you said, and it was so meaningful to her! She deserves to be adopted and feel the love of a family again! ❤️🐶
Me too!! I miss my soul dog Lucy🥰so much!!I never filled the hole in my heart. But I did rescue a couple of cats an now my daughter lives with me and her daughter and the brought there 3 cats with them 😂❤
I appreciate you sharing your personal experiences with us. It means so much to me and I am sure many others on the channel. It helps us see each other as human, relatable, and you are proof that these things can get better.
This one made me tear up. She really seemed to understand when Rocky was talking to her and telling her how sorry he was that she lost her person, but that she's a good girl. She just snuggled in and took it all in. So touching. What wonderful work Rocky is doing! A little love goes a long way!
Dogs react differently to being in a shelter kennel; some shy away in resignation, others charge out of anxiety, like, "Get me outta here!" Reese is wondering when her family is coming to find her. This poor girl has been around the SW, so much transition and uncertainty in her life. Imagine being stuck there, your life dependent on every little behavior. Not a cute, friendly, happy puppy? Forget it, I'm pretty sure I'd lose hope.😢 As you said, Rocky, their condition and health could also affect their reactions. Thanks for always showing these pups w/different personalities in their best light - and for doing this event!💕🐾☮️ 27:10 I love to see Ken and the blackdog (my fave kind) cuddling & smiling!

Adopted an aggressive dog (did not realize @ time) from the local pound, was so scared of everything he was truly aggressive ... we did not know his true self... working with him & doing agility to increase confidence has worked wonders with him!
🎉Reese is officially coming home to live with me and my family in Colorado next week! 🎉 She's gonna have lots of love and lots of friends! And a home that will be hers forever. We have 3 adults living in the house so she will always have someone to hang out with, and dozens of other friends that come over regularly for backyard BBQ's and the like. A similarly aged and sized sister lab who loves other dogs and just wants to lounge around with you all day. Maybe Reese can help her be a little less lazy hahah 😁 No more bouncing homes for you baby girl, no matter what happens you have a plan, a back-up plan, and a back-up back-up plan. And honestly probably even more than that. You're gonna live out the rest of your days never seeing the inside of another shelter kennel. We can't wait to meet you! EDIT: Reese is officially home! She's been so lovely already and we're so happy to have her around!! We will be posting some updates on the Animal Friends of the Valleys Facebook page in a few days with photos upon their request ❤
thank you for this. What an awesome outcome for sweet little Reese. I hope you are both so happy and make the best memories imaginable. God bless you for making a place in your home and your heart for her. I know she will reward you ten times over. Heart hugs to you and your, from SE Texas.
Omg that beautiful black pittie with Ken😭😭 i love the idea of doing multi cam. It would give even more dogs exposure, like the sweetie with Ken, and would give even more dogs comfort... which we all love to see. I love that idea so much.
i used to work for a private dog park and we would always use leashes in moments for our safety and for the dog's safety. we would always wear them like you do. leashes are a very helpful tool so thank you for explaining that to those in the comments that don't get it.
You're truly a blessing to the rescue community. I can foster, i can interject and help dogs being dumped, i pay for other people's dogs to get medical care and food... but i cannot step foot into a shelter anymore without bawling my eyes out. Unfortunately there are countless dogs to help even outside of the shelter, so there's never a dull day. But what you do, Rocky, takes so much courage and strength and it makes a huge impact.
Remarkable work Rocky. With the commands creating a shared language and clear communication between you both, right around this point 11:45 her fear drops off and you can see her tail relax and unfold, and her stress panting stops too. No matter how many times I've watched you do this, everytime it's so beautiful to see. *"Be* *more* *like* *Dogs"* would be an awesome T-Shirt.
So, I started watching a few of your videos about 3 weeks ago. I came out of the salon I work @ & hear a little “meow”. Got to calling & I found a little black & white kitten in a storm drain. Called animal control but I managed to get him out about 20 mins before animal control got there. Posted him on Fb for someone to adopt him. Took him home & within an hour I knew he was @ home. My GSD Greta thinks I brought her home a friend. So now, even though I’m getting a divorce & loving with my mom (her memory isn’t getting any better these days), he is a new member of the family. Named him Elvis because we are HUGE Elvis fans!! I was not looking for a new family member but he found me. So, if I hadn’t started watching your videos, I wouldn’t know how great a new family could be, lol

27:11 Thank you Rocky, Kathy, Khen & AFV ! I showed my mother and she is crying happy tears. She got a little too attached to a rescue we couldn’t foster long term. We genuinely really appreciate all that you do!
I just lost my dog last month, so I am not ready to get another one, but we have welcomed Harley, a foster dog. He's so sweet, and I hope to find his forever home. ❤ God bless you, Rocky for your compassion.
So sorry for your loss 😢. If it's ok to ask, what was their name?
It's wonderful that, even though you are grieving, you are helping another dog.👏🏻❤️🐶
I was the blessed one. Unfortunately, I have also lost Jasper's siblings and my husband, but again, I count myself blessed to have had all of them. Your kind words have made my day. God bless you and your family.
I am so sorry for your loss. Our pets are cherished and missed so much aren't they?
Take care and thank you for fostering ❤
Reese is gorgeous, what a sweetheart! Thanks to you and your team for all you do - your videos are so uplifting, and the dogs are always such cuties. I'm going off to donate to the shelter now too!
Hey Rocky. Asking for quick prayers for 17 1/2 year old dog. We rescued her when she was just 6 from a kill shelter. She's been really for the 2 weeks. We're worried. She's beeb a great dog. Our Brooklyn is your flip.
Sending prayers, hugs, and love your way🙏🏼❣️
God Bless your dog. ❤ I’m sending my prayers to her!
Prayers from California for your Brooklyn, wherever she is. I have lit a candle to remind me to pray and send healing your way. 🕯️🙏🥰🐕🐶💕❤️🙏🙏
❤❤❤
🙏💕🙏💕🙏
She is so beautiful surely someone is going to want her. She needs more love. Brought tears to my eyes seeing her with you. God bless you Rocky. I pray for a happy ending. Thank you for working so hard this week to get these babies adopted.
This dog is a real sweetheart 💕 I'm so glad you took the chance to help her ! 🙄
Danke!
A Reese's Candy Toy turned out to be a perfect Toy for "Reese". How sweet! ❤
Knows sit and shake. Someone loved this baby. Such a sweet girl. :) I hope she finds her new home soon!
Reecè got a Reese toy! How much of a coincidence is that!! That's a good omen! Reece/Reese is a beautiful girl and yes, a good intelligent girl❤❤❤Love you girl ❤❤❤ Thanks for all you and your team do to help this shelter 😊
Amazing sign from God! Praise The LORD!
My granddaughter has a dog that looks exactly like this pup. She is the smartest, most intelligent and trainable did I know. Very quick learner.
She also trembles with strangers, loud noises and riding in the car.
Our dog loves to be around
other dogs. Super friendly and super fast runner.
She looks like a ‘Carolina dog’. Perfect family pet.
We have a Carolina dog…awesome dog. She was a rescue. It took a long time to gain trust, but worth it!
Thanks for everything you are doing for the shelter and these loving & sweet dogs.
This one made me actually cry real tears 😢... Someone adopt Reese! What a sweetie! 🥹
Reese is gorgeous! I’m so happy to see that beautiful Mocha was adopted! I hope they all get homes!
The look on Reese’s face when you started to give her positive affirmations and tell her you were sorry, it was like she understood every word you said, and it was so meaningful to her! She deserves to be adopted and feel the love of a family again! ❤️🐶
This event was a brilliant idea!
Your videos bring me so much happiness!!
Flip must be proud of you, Rocky!
Thank you for all you do.
Me too!! I miss my soul dog Lucy🥰so much!!I never filled the hole in my heart. But I did rescue a couple of cats an now my daughter lives with me and her daughter and the brought there 3 cats with them 😂❤
Thanks!
The " giving paw" is the cutest! ☺️
Our Australian shepherd does that. A trainer told me to not allow it. I love it. The paw of friendship
When u said the sweet to her and she cheered up, it made me cry❤
You are so calming to these sweet souls . Thank you ❤
I appreciate you sharing your personal experiences with us. It means so much to me and I am sure many others on the channel.
It helps us see each other as human, relatable, and you are proof that these things can get better.
Thank you! Appreciate you
This one made me tear up. She really seemed to understand when Rocky was talking to her and telling her how sorry he was that she lost her person, but that she's a good girl. She just snuggled in and took it all in. So touching. What wonderful work Rocky is doing! A little love goes a long way!
Dogs react differently to being in a shelter kennel; some shy away in resignation, others charge out of anxiety, like, "Get me outta here!"
Reese is wondering when her family is coming to find her. This poor girl has been around the SW, so much transition and uncertainty in her life. Imagine being stuck there, your life dependent on every little behavior. Not a cute, friendly, happy puppy? Forget it, I'm pretty sure I'd lose hope.😢
As you said, Rocky, their condition and health could also affect their reactions. Thanks for always showing these pups w/different personalities in their best light - and for doing this event!💕🐾☮️
27:10 I love to see Ken and the blackdog (my fave kind) cuddling & smiling!
I love watching the positive affirmations….. I feel the dog’s reactions…. Love this show on UA-cam. Congrats. (🇨🇦). Barb
Reece is very beautiful, and very bright. She just makes me smile. She is brave enough to trusting you in such a short time. What a lovely girl.
what a sweetheart!! Watching her come out of her shell is heartwarming!
Sitting with dogs and SittingS with dogs. You and your team are amazing. Thank you for saving the dogs❤️❤️❤️
I HAVE BEEN PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND THE FUR BABIES ADOPTIONS THAT YOU WILL GET ALL THESE FUR BABIES ADOPTIONED AMEN ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I WISH I COULD OF BEEN THERE BUT I LIVE IN NJ AND ON SSI 🕊😇👵🏻💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Adopted an aggressive dog (did not realize @ time) from the local pound, was so scared of everything he was truly aggressive ... we did not know his true self... working with him & doing agility to increase confidence has worked wonders with him!
That dogs build is made for speed.
Yeah, my thoughts too!
I thought there is probably some greyhound in there somewhere.
@@susanbradleyskov9179Just what I thought especially after that close-up of her midsection 😊. Sweet dog!
I was thinking that too. She would be perfect for a farm or someone who's active and outdoorsy!
@@amymbeauty8765 She could lead a flyball team to victory!
🎉Reese is officially coming home to live with me and my family in Colorado next week! 🎉
She's gonna have lots of love and lots of friends! And a home that will be hers forever. We have 3 adults living in the house so she will always have someone to hang out with, and dozens of other friends that come over regularly for backyard BBQ's and the like. A similarly aged and sized sister lab who loves other dogs and just wants to lounge around with you all day. Maybe Reese can help her be a little less lazy hahah 😁
No more bouncing homes for you baby girl, no matter what happens you have a plan, a back-up plan, and a back-up back-up plan. And honestly probably even more than that. You're gonna live out the rest of your days never seeing the inside of another shelter kennel. We can't wait to meet you!
EDIT: Reese is officially home! She's been so lovely already and we're so happy to have her around!! We will be posting some updates on the Animal Friends of the Valleys Facebook page in a few days with photos upon their request
❤
thank you for this. What an awesome outcome for sweet little Reese. I hope you are both so happy and make the best memories imaginable. God bless you for making a place in your home and your heart for her. I know she will reward you ten times over. Heart hugs to you and your, from SE Texas.
@@Khunai. well done , I'm so happy that Reese has found a loving family. Bless you 💕
@@janerichardson8553 She will be forever loved ❤️ even if it takes her some time to get comfortable. We have all the patience to offer
Excellent! Thank you for such a happy ending. She's a beautiful dog.
So great for Reese.
Wow! I ordered some coffee yesterday, and I just got an email that it's shipped already!
Yay! Thank you 🙏☕🐶
Omg that beautiful black pittie with Ken😭😭 i love the idea of doing multi cam.
I am sure she will find her forever home soon with amazing owners that will never leave this precious dog!
Whoever sent them little dolls, WOW! Super cute 🐾💙🐺
Aw, thanks! I loved painting them. A mini me for a tall Rocky, LOL.--Karen
@@karenlandry5550 you did an amazing job 🐾💙🐺
You're truly a blessing to the rescue community. I can foster, i can interject and help dogs being dumped, i pay for other people's dogs to get medical care and food... but i cannot step foot into a shelter anymore without bawling my eyes out. Unfortunately there are countless dogs to help even outside of the shelter, so there's never a dull day. But what you do, Rocky, takes so much courage and strength and it makes a huge impact.
Rocky, this event is amazing!! Thank you so much for all that you do
Thank you! I am so lucky to have all of you as a part of this. We are all helping these pets together!!
@@rockykanaka Thanks so much for replying! You made my day 💕
Remarkable work Rocky.
Yes!🌞
She was ready to get the heck outta Dodge! She was like "let's go Rocky, come on, let's go"! 🥹❤🐾
Kudos to Khen! What a great presence he has!!
24:10 omg I'm crying when you were giving positive affirmations and forehead to forehead she heard you and was just melting into your words ❤❤❤ what a difference you made for her!
It was so much fun to see you open the dog toys I sent. I was so bummed that I could not find a Twix dog toy, but am glad Reese got a Reese's toy! 😊
I was wondering if anyone else caught that besides me! Reese's for Reese!
I can't get enough of your videos. Our boy is a 4 1/2 Border Collie, Me Maxwell and he watches the videos with me. Everything you do is amazing. If you're ever in Wisconsin let me know I would love to meet you guys Thanks!
What a sweet girl!! She loves to “shake a paw”!! She sure loves her treats!! I think she’ll find a wonderful new home. Oh…I got my Bean t-shirt today. I love it!! Thank you!!
Love that she went for the treats.
Reese is just gorgeous! I wish I were closer!
❤I Truly Love All that you do, Rocky!! My grandson in TN and his girlfriend foster dogs, for years, and love what you do!!❤❤❤
Awesome! Thank you Jane 👍
37:32 she still has her tail between her legs even though she’s being so enthusiastic. I know you’ll bring her out 😊🌷🌱
Reese is adorable, and she sure loves those treats. Rocky, this "Empty the Shelters" event is amazing, as are you. Thank you for always being there for these beautiful animals. It's wonderful to see how their demeanor transforms within just a little while of sitting with you. I love all of these dogs, and I hope that they all find their loving forever homes ASAP. ♥♥♥
