In this lesson we take a look at how to properly play a two-handed or “double” shuffle, most commonly associated with blues music. “Double” here means both hands are playing the shuffle pattern, with one hand on the snare drum and the other on the hi-hat or ride cymbal. As there are numerous variations of the shuffle this two-handed shuffle is the best place to start if you want to develop a strong shuffle groove.

Thanks, for explaining and presenting it so clearly and impressively.
Classic Chicago blues double shuffle. Amazing how many drummers can't play it.
Any lover of the blues needs to learn this.
One of the most difficult beats ever. Especially getting the feel and dynamics correct.
Sounds good!
Tons of country shuffles with this
Wonderfull
Fabulous thank you! 👏🇦🇺✌️
Check Lee Kerslake doing it fast in "Easy Livin`" by Uriah Heep

I do this all the time playing jazz,I just accent the left hand notes.Buddy Rich makes an artform of doing this.
great exercise! would be usefull if you add tempo value that you are playing
Or, would that be known as, the triple shuffle? Please forgive my ignorance as far as the name? I was just taught by a friend to do it that way & not easy!
Thank you
Yeah man, the trick to this beat, is to do the same thing with your foot! Definitely easier beats, ha!
Cool man ... thanks ...

Isn't this also called a "Texas Shuffle?"
brian96597 Texas is usually a bit more quarter note only on the ride but I kept this lesson more generic avoiding any geographical references (Texas, Chicago etc).
