I lived in this unit with my boyfriend from 1981 to 1984. Yes. This unit! The water view was the best part. I have many happy memories. 😊
This building have about 40 studios and 40 1 bedders. It would be amazing to show and compare what people did with them!
I kept my original layout, and only did minor changes to it.
(out of respect for H. Seidler, and due to a small budget.)
I think my studio is practical, and homely, my kitchen has a decent size fridge, dishwasher, washing mashine and a hot water system, and plenty of storage. I furnished it with Ikea furniture , because I could do it myself. (I even have a proper wardrobe, 1.8 meter wide, floor to ceiling.)
If you live in this location, you go out a lot..I used to say, that my living room is the Art Gallery of NSW. we have a garden and a pool as well.
It really grinds my gears that they put in these narrow sinks like people never have to wash a bowl
Brad Swartz's design aesthetic is just wonderful. I've been binge-watching these videos and the designs i liked are all from him.
yes, I agree with you
I agree too.
Me too. He does love his white joinery with a touch of wood look as they all have that!
Lol so have I
same i just now realized that most episodes that i love here are his design
Switching the kitchen and bedroom was brilliant! It makes so much more sense!
I want to do that with my apartment. I don't sleep well with a big window next to my bed, is awful, noisy and too much bright as soon the sun goes up
And my kitchen is so quite at the back 🙄
Almost the best thing about these videos are the audio quality. Not just the music - I really like the Australian and New Zealand accents most of the architects have. The audio technician and mixer does great work!!
I love this apartment!! I always learn a lot from this videos like using large tiles to improve the feeling of quality, or the full panoramic window which opens up the space so much... People like to complain a lot. Small apartments are full of charm and they challenge your creativity because you've got to get the most from each square meter. This is a small place that has certain features that make it a pleasurable space, and cleaning must be very easy too... but people love being in gigantic houses that require maintenance and an army to keep clean, plus utilities are higher , so stop bragging, nobody is trying to convince you to move into a small house or apartment, this is for people like me.
Totally agree! You just need one light bulb on wherever you are in.
Fabulous. So fresh and airy looking. Love the mirror backsplash to reflect the fabulous view.
michaelcsutton , I'm not an architect but a landlord. I get inspired by good design and adapt them in my spaces. I use mirrors like that in my spaces. My tenants truly appreciate good design.
Would have been smart if the bed was elevated until the window to get a nice view and use the space under it for storage
Yes!!
Nice thinking!!
There is storage under the bed he said that. Also I guess the window would have to come to the bed since the windows start at the ceiling.
@@TheRanfaymedio fortunately i dont know how much 5ft is
TheRanfaymedio true - you could put in a couple steps but that still adds a safety concern if it’s so high
That view is incredible!!! It almost doesn't even look real....more like a perfect photograph! I'd never get anything done; I'd just be staring out watching the boats go in and out all day long, lol
Why do people love to make the shelves above their head while they’re sleeping? It “feels” too heavy.
The apartment still is my top fav.
I hate it.. Reminds me of a guillotine. Wake up and theres something ready to fall on your head..
@@maria098cheng I agree. From the perspective of Chinese fengshui, this part of shelves isn's a good design.
It's for those who likes jumping up and down their beds whilst picking out what to wear for the day
maria098cheng I agree in long run will cause me unnecessary psychologically distress. 🤢🤢
I would surely hit my head/ face on that shelves every morning I woke up from the bed! 😅😂🤦
I just love apartment with nice natural lighting without using a really big window.
Yo we're gonna have an incredible party at my place. I have a chair!
Joking aside, this home looks beautiful!
His designs are always beautiful and livable.
I genuinely LOVE this. I've always wanted a tiny house and recently stayed in a one bedroom apartment to dogsit for a coworker and even her space felt too big for me. If the closet in my current room was a bathroom and my desk was a stovetop oven, I'd be in heaven. This would be a dream for me.
This gem needs twice the duration or twice the frequency of uploads!
I really want to say something positive about this apartment. It is very nicely situated.
It is interesting how the living space has been designed to be as large and open as
simple and clean as possible. That individuals can then easily accommodate themselves and the process that gives them colors gives warmth to the entire space is due to the materials that their color palette has that did not occur to me before as a student.
This has to be the classiest Tiny Bathroom i've seen
Ok, this is a student dorm room with a exceptional view!
I think this designer is so far the best. Practical and cozy. And good aesthetics !
This would be a perfect Airbnb room to be rent out. I guess someone might want to pay over $300 a night for this location, view, and minimalist design.
Paul Yu was thinking the same thing . I couldn’t see myself living here but I’d love to spend a night or 2 there with that view .. $300 a night is doable .
Please upload more often. So satisfying to see loovveee!!
Brad Swartz is brilliant - his apartments are my favourites of the ones you feature on this channel! Thank you!
This guy just loves - NEEDS - the kitchen to be in the living space. Gotta have that kitchen sink in direct view at all times.
optimal layout. nice touch to extend the kitchen, even the upper cabinets somehow
It would be fascinating to know what that apartment would sell for now.
Sydney is bloody expensive, that's an expensive part of Sydney, amazing location, brilliant view, great finish, but it is small.
Edit: It looks like the apartment sold for AUD$535,000 mid-2019, as a shell. Think it also comes with a car park.
i grew up in the apartments next door to these ones in the 90s. my parents werent wealthy. one parent income because my mum was looking after my little brother who was just a baby at the time. i think it was somewhat pricey because my mum would be so frugal when doing grocery shopping and then when we got to have take away it was only a few times a year. still.... sydney is so expensive today that you couldn't dream of living in a place like this with that view. and we had the top floor and a huge balcony. rich people ruin everything
@@PlanYourLift Yeah, it sucks.
I lived in that building back in the late 1970's; I was renting but had the option to buy. If I recall correctly, the price was only about $A23,500, for my ground-floor courtyard garden studio. I didn't exercise that option and have been kicking myself in the years since. :D
To put that in terms 🇺🇸 can understand:
AU $535,000 (the price before the rehab) converts to about US $355,000 = $1225/square foot which is equivalent to prices in Brooklyn (Manhattan averages $1600).
I'm glad to live in Chicago, which averages $240/sq ft
@@Nyx773 It would be interesting to see what the $/sq foot would be now, not only as a result of the makeover but also in the increased "value" of real estate.
Thanks for the context and maths.
love the simplicity!
Great space! Please more episodes.
my mate who recently came out of jail will feel right at home here
MRHappyHappyjoyjoy90 😂😂
🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would love to be his house mate
MRHappyHappyjoyjoy90 No kidding! All they need now is a place at the front door for guests to check in any valuables, plus their belts and shoe laces.
Can see my head getting knocked out by the cupboards above the bed everyday trying to sit up on the bed....Huge design flaw! Can't even sit and read in bed without stiffing 5 pillows in there
Or you could just lay at the other end of the bed
I really loved that everything was thought to give the space a lighter and brighter look. It makes the apartment so fresh.
This one's by far the best I've seen in this channel. The window is just insane.
Sunshine is everything !
Having watched so many of the videos on this channel, in my opinion the smaller the apartment the better job the architects do. It's the ones 50 sqm plus that disappoint but these tinier ones are more impressive.
A special edition episode featuring tiny double bedrooms would be amazing to see. I have a 60 square foot bedroom and I want to find ways of adding storage in a minimal, considered way and without making the room feel smaller. Love the bedroom scene in this video. A bathroom edition would be amazing too. I've taken note of the tiles he's used in this example.
hes one of my fav architects on this channel
View is beautiful. I installed a sink to ceiling mirror in my bathroom but it would get dirty easily from water splash. Cooking with oil might be a little messy but using stainless steel pots instead of pans could reduce splatter.
I like how they moved the kitchen for the Bedroom and the brights looking colors inside the apt. but maybe the storage at the bedroom could be on the upside down the bed for spacing the room and feeling it more bigger
Every episode of Never Too Small
This color gives off sense of larger space
This texture gives off sense of more open area
This design gives off feeling of more room
This lighting gives off a curvature that makes this space seem bigger.
.
.
I love it...
If I didn't have 3 kids, I would definitely do this.
Love the focus on light and it is all about tat guena vista.
That view is priceless!
It's easy to step out of that thin line between "Minimalism" and a "Boring" Design...
Theres something called "small space to work with". The more information you put in small spaces, the smaller it looks. Its something very clear to everyone who study about small architecture.
I agree wholeheartedly! I would definitely add some nice wood shelving and plants through the corners
@@moderndilettante6896 there wasn't any personalization in the apartment because the client hadn't moved in yet.
minimalism is overrated. Casey's studio is a counter example
My favourite so far
Love, love, love, love, love this place.
It's so beautiful
Cant imagine living in such a small place !
I like how the views were implemented into the appartement. It is very sunny and positive. A beautiful bathroom!
Such a cozy place to live, a chair .
The view is amazing 😍😍 this is the kind of view you would want to see when you wake up everyday
That view is so compelling.
good episode, 27m2 is the classic tiny size!
Lovely design, very liveable.
legit thought window view was just a print-out, that's how perfect it is
Hit my head getting up each morning
This is my new favorite channel. I can't get enough of these videos. Them windows and that view really makes this apartment! I wish they would include the old and new values of the apartments, though, or the old and new rent prices.
lovely simplicity
the series of never too small episodes and the chill outro in each episode.... love it
Brad Swatz is my favorite architect for sure!!
Lovely place , the only thing I don't like is the closets above the bed
the bathroom lighting!! gooooooooooood ;)
Worth having such a tiny space for that gorgeous view!
Thoughtful minimalist. Framework for looking around you. Lovely.
Still probably cost $3m 😂😂 God Bless Aussie house prices!
it's madness...
@@fredsalfa $700k?
@@fredsalfa Are you kidding $700K for 27m2 Tiny Apartment !!!!!!
@@fredsalfa 😱😱😱😱total madness
Lol, maybe a little less
i am loving these ! please upload more
its crazy that i show the videos when i want to sleep hahaha because its so relaxin..
Omg that's the kind of house I would love to own. Small, modern and minimalistic 😍
Beautiful. Love Always, Chanett
i love everything, even where the kitchen is placed is perfect!
i believe the bedroom would benefit with having a storage installed within the wall if the bed is more than 10ft high or something :( at least the bed looks that wide to me
the pull-out iron board would be really nice on the living space side of the room really, the entrance is just beside the "up to the ceiling" mirror wardrobe and a lot of traffic can be reduced transferring that particular furniture, along with the pull-out table :((
idk just some ideas *in tiny fonts*
This is my dream apartment. The layout is just perfect.
Lovely simplicity and view
Beautifull space. I love all the light.
I love it! It looks so cleanly executed and devoid of über complicated things like unnecessary storage.
Good design and good use of a small space.
Def my favourite so far. Love the living room window - just needs some plants and I'd be happy.
What a view!!
i like all episodes with this brad guy, it's as if he knows my taste
I love his design so much!!!!
Simply Serene 🖼
The only suggestion I have is to build out just a bit of counter space around the bathroom sink.
the mirror reflecting the view is so big brain omg
Eu amei o banheiro, muito pratico com a maquina de lavar.
Our favorite dude again
Great episode & everything . But how do you sleep on that bed with all storage hitting your head
I think they just placed the pillows there for aesthetics and not for practical reasons
Guess u can sleep with your feet against the cupboards
You are supposed to sleep the other way round, so when you wake up naked the next morning, you can open the wardrobe and think of what to wear whilst touching yourself.
Beautiful!
This is the first apartment I see in this series which looks smaller than the size declared. Interesting.
This is a goddamn beautiful apartment
Love it. The view is like a painting.
So claustrophobic!
Super minimalista
I love small spaces as a single person and would love to live in one like that :)
Si tienes 5 prendas y 0 aficiones se podría incluso vivir. Como concepto, genial.
good idea
This guy is a true minimalist
This is absolutely stunning
Oh it's perfect
I love this! So airy. So clever. I watched it a few times to see more detail. I’m going to take some space tricks from this place
what specifically were the small details you picked up on?
Looks very cluttered with all these yachts :)
I think the best thing in this house is the view. Damnnnn I want to live here forever
Amazing view
