Before he became a mindless henchman, this Mr Freeze was really one of Gotham's most compelling villains. Wasn't a fan of what they did with him, they really could've just ended with him committing aliven't after his wife died if they were gonna run out of ideas on what to do with him the way they did.
I'm not sure what you mean, *lots* of people talk about how great the make up and graphic are in *Gotham* ... Most *Gotham* haters complain about other stuff, like how annoying Jim Gordon's love life was, how death was too cheap in this show (they basically have Dragon Balls), how season 5 was too rushed... lots of people also gave up on season 1 because they hated Fish Mooney and Barbara Kean. (I didn't hate Fish myself, but I wish she had stayed dead after the season 1 finale... and I wish Barbara had stayed dead after her fall from the Church in season 2) But most people agree that this is still a quality show with great actors, especially if you're a big fan of the DC universe, especially the parts centered around Gotham City. This show is full of amazing performances; the Bat-rogues of course, with Penguin, Riddler, both "proto-Jokers", Mad Hatter, Victor Zsasz, Carmine Falcone & Sal Maroni, Hugo Strange, Butch/Grundy, Ra's al Gul and even secondary ones like Scarecrow or Nyssa al Ghul... Then the good guys; Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, Alfred, Harvey Bullock, Leslie Thompkins, Captain Barnes (before he turned heel and went full Executioner), even the little we saw of Harvey Dent and Sarah Essen. I believe that when it comes to live action shows, *Gotham* will always remain a classic for Batman fans, much like the 1960 Adam West show still is... or how "Smallville" is for Superman fans. Perhaps not considered a DC masterpiece like Doom Patrol, Watchmen, Swamp Thing, or Constantine... But it will remain a "if you love these characters, you should really give it a shot" like *The Flash* seasons 1&2, or *Arrow* seasons 1&2 (my favorite Arrow season is the 5th, but you have to be willing to sit thought season 3, which isn't that bad, but season 4 really sucked despite some really good villains like Anarky and Damien Darhk, and great allies like Constantine). Time will tell, I guess.
We totally agree. Just meant that not only does no one credit the show for its makeup & graphics, but also we think the lighting and set design is also fantastic and should also be credited. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Say what you will about Mr. Freeze, he was a cool guy. He knew how to break the ice and be chill in a variety of situations. Unfortunately he was often cold to peoples’ pleas of mercy.
Am I the only one who actually liked this incarnation of Mr Freeze? Sure he wasn’t phenomenal but… I mean he certainly was a massive upgrade compare to Arnold’s version. Wish we saw more of him and I wish they didn’t kill off Nora like that :/
@@KillerGothChick yeah ik but I never liked how she was just killed off in the comics either. I like what the Arkham games did where she was still frozen and Freeze was still working so hard to save her. Way more compelling that way for me
@Mark Guerrero facts. I also just hate how he vanished and was barely seen just like they did with Scarecrow! Both such great characters both so underutilized….
Mr. Freeze should've have a glass dome that's bulletproof in his suit permanently cause it's an important feature of the character's suit. I also didn't like Nora Fries being killed off because she lives in the future when Batman existed, but frozen in ice and that's Freeze's motivation in the comics, cartoons, and other media. The scene when Nora dies should've been cut in the show, she was frozen when Mr. Freeze uses his freeze gun to make her frozen in ice the whole time. Victor freezes himself and think Nora is dead by being frozen and will try anything to cure her, but she is alive, just frozen in ice in his lair off-screen in the show.
Nora should've lived, Mr Freeze in the series could've had a much more interesting dynamic with certain characters like Bruce Wayne or Jerome for example, imagine if Nora had lived, Valeska would've threatened to unplug Nora so Freeze has to make the laughing gas, so then Freeze has to work with Bruce and Jim or something like that.
Yee if they wanted, they could've done a bit of plot finnagling and have him become affected by his freezing-suicide attempt with distortion/loss of memory plus the emotionlessness from the show. Hugo Strange -- in typical "narrative-based manipulation" fashion -- gaslights/convinces him that his wife is still alive, but he'll need to play by Strange's rules if he wants to see her again. So we'd have an emotionless Fries driven to do Strange's bidding by a solely-commitment-based love (which he may at certain moments of lucidity even question if it's proper love anymore, since it's emotionless now), all of it premised on the lie that his wife might still be revived. At the eventual climax, he would be finally convinced of the truth that his wife really is gone and that she died in the hopes that it would prevent him from committing more of his crimes. Feeling his sorrow as his only real emotion, he turns on Strange and somehow aids the heroes before presumably properly aliven't-ing. Smth like that.
Indeed, I wish she was just frozen in a block of ice at the end of Victor's initial two-parter ("Mr Freeze" & "A Dead Man Feels no Cold"), and he could have gotten ice'd himself without trying to commit suicide... In the New52, they tried to make Victor be wife-less, and it sucked. They quickly went back to the status quo, which changed again a couple years back, when she was brought back to life and is now in team _WildCATS_ after Grifter (Cole Cash) faked her death. Poor Mr Freeze instead became an enforcer for Hugo Strange, Penguin, Fish Mooney, Jérôme... and used a plot device when something ice-related happened. In contrast, his Central City counterpart, _Captain Cold_ , was done much better in *The Flash* (Wentworth Miller's performance was really good, turned a loooooot of people in Cold fanboys, myself included ^^).
Dear commenters bitching about Nora being killed off: Nora was dead when Freeze's Batman the Animated Series origin was ported to the comics (prior to the New 52, I mean). Not only that but Nora was meant to be 100 % dead in Heart of Ice and her still being alive was a retcon Paul Dini didn't like.
@@BDKnight Freeze being pure evil is boring. His complexity & intellect make him interesting. Just killing is almost every villain ever. I love how easily him & Batman work together when it makes sense for them in the animated 90's series.
Victor was a decent person driven to do terrible things to save the person he loved. Nora's death and Victor's decision to end his life, albeit grim, are a possible ending. I may not agree with them choosing the darkest option, as there are stories where Victor is able to save his wife and becomes a hero, or loses her and chooses to end his life heroically, but I respect their choice. What I do *NOT* respect is them *ruining his arc by bringing him back to do crimes for next to no reason. That's not Freeze.*

While this version of Mr. Freeze is cool, I don't like how they did his origin. While there are versions of the comics in which he did want to become a criminal because he likes the idea, most versions now have him only doing it because he's trying save Nora and to get revenge on Boyle. Killing Nora just doesn't work for his origin. And after he tries to kill himself, I don't see how Hugo Strange's manipulations work. How is being a criminal supposed to make Victor happy now that he's lost his wife? This goes against why people love Mr. Freeze's character so much.
