“The cost of housing is expensive”. Me from Huntington Beach California looks at Zillow and thinks, wow for the cost of a nice 4 bedroom house in CO Springs I could only get a crappy two bedroom house here in HB hahaha. CO Springs looks super nice and once I save up enough for a down payment I think I’m going to move here. As a native Californian the idea of leaving the beach and its climate scares me but I think it’s worth it for the cost of living and mountains. I also like the face that CO Springs is a conservative business friendly area. Thank you for all the awesome content!
Love the aspens. Colorado Springs rocks. Thanks for pointing out all of the outdoor activity. Going to snow soon and then you guys will be enjoying all that winter brings. Such a cool town. Thanks for pointing out the good, bad, ugly.
I've been thru 7 ...yes 7 windshields on my truck since I bought it new...yeah maybe 20 years ago...plus 3 paintjobs...As I was born here, we do have big city problems...homeless are getting bad, costs are going up, very pricey for what you get in a house, taxes going up, city milks, for every last charging idea possible...now there is no free downtown parking on any day...that's a start...Ask the locals or natives if anything....
If you are searching for homes, I recommend using Redfin or Realtor. I was told by our agent that Zillow is very late in updating homes. So you might see one that is available in your price range and that you absolutely love, but it’s going to be “most likely” off market or pending.
In washington state housing cost is off the charts, for a 3 bedroom manufactured home on 0.25 acres you will be paying $400,000 to $700,000. I've been looking in colorado and have found 3 bedroom 2 bath manufactured homes on 30+ acres for $125,000. Renting costs are closer to the same but colorado is still cheaper than Washington's rent, my 2 bed 1 bath apartment that's 600 sqft is $1,400 a month not including utilities with no washer and dryer or dishwasher and I live in the cheapest housing I could find in my area. I want to move to Colorado, I got family in Colorado springs that have been wanting me to move there for the past 5 years lol
Great videos...I'm looking into moving there. I've been in Vail/Eagle County for about 20 years & just want somewhere more affordable. How's the cultural diversity?
Vail and Eagle County is gorgeous! Love every chance we get to be in that part of the state! Sure wish we could figure out the traffic on I70😁 We've certainly gotten more diverse over the last decade with the growth we've experienced. It's unique to have the military presence we have because we have a younger demographic and we see a lot of service members love the area so much they come back after retirement. We also have such great civilian jobs for them that we are a great destination. So, from age range, ethnicity and cultural backgrounds, we're certainly more diverse than years prior. Not a New York type of diversity but better than years past. Hope that helps! If you have any questions, please feel free to text or call us at 719-685-6964
Thanks so much for the video! I have a question! I'm a 23-year-old dude about to move to the springs from Georgia (Originally from Cali) later this year in the winter! My plan is to work at a bike shop out there while I look for my first web development job, so obviously I can only afford a cheap, small apartment. I'll have enough saved to pay for the first few months of rent(and other things) while I look for a job. I see several decent ones online in around the $700-$900 range, but I'm a bit skeptical. Will most of the ones in that range probably be located in a bad neighborhood/part of the city? Are there any areas with cheap apartments that you'd recommend?
Joey Kyber it’s definitely possible to get a lower rent apartment, it’ll just depend on what is convenient to where you will be working. If you have questions about a specific area/neighborhood please feel free to call (719) 685-6964
Ha! That's a hoot. He speaks well but typical salesmanship propaganda. (BTW to not be too negative we do own a place there though our main residence is in Ohio. We DO like going there).
As someone who grew up in Colorado Springs, I would have to say that the biggest con, is all of the people that aren't from Colorado that have moved here..
iamvictorious31 we have a ton of craft breweries here and many of them have food trucks on site daily. I believe food trucks do well even in the winter! COS loves good food trucks! Where do you live now?
Hey my man. I'm here in Nashville and looking to move to The Springs in July when our lease is up. I keep hearing mixed stories about it. In all actuality, is it worth the investment or is looking elsewhere in Colorado a better idea? (Aurora, Denver, Fort Collins, etc) I like your channel and you seem down to earth. I'm from Los Angeles originally but have lived in Boise and Nashville. Any advice?
Daniel Deutsch Hey Daniel! Thanks for hitting us up, we really appreciate it! As I've said a few times in my videos I'm super biased towards Colorado Springs having grown up in the midwest,so, here's my attempt at helping to clarify. :) Obviously compared to LA, Colorado Springs is far more affordable and your dollar will go farther. From our friends that come here from SoCal we're told that traffic is considerably less and they can get a lot more house for the dollar. Coming from Nashville, Colorado Springs will not have the historical architecture that the Nashville area has and it would be ludicrous to even try and compare the Springs night life to Nashville. :) Our friends that live in Nashville always speak of a very vibrant night life with great local music. Not something that readily abundant here in the Springs. As far as a comparison to Denver and Northern Colorado, we are still more affordable and we've seen very comparable increases in home values. Denver is far more spread out than we are and definitely has that 'big city' feel compared to the Springs, however, it totally depends on what you're looking for in that capacity. Monument and northern Colorado Springs have been very popular areas for those looking to be closer to Denver and still get more for their money as taxes are lower in El Paso county than they are in the northern counties and it's a little less expensive than the northern counties. It truly just all depends on what you're looking for when you move. If you get a chance, I'm available all day tomorrow and would love talk specifics with you. 719-685-6964 is my cell and I'm happy to help any way I can. Have a great evening and I look forward to chatting with you soon!
Hey Jeremy! It’s interesting to look at our cost of living versus other areas in the country. That said, to have witnessed the fairly rapid rise of home values in the area has certainly impacted some folks’ ability to move up. Have I forwarded the site we use for determining cost of living comparisons? Really interesting stuff.
Ericson578 you’re right in that we’re in line for a correction, however, most forecasts don’t show anything near what we experienced in 2007, 2008. Most forecasts show a correction within the next 3-5 years
Hi Angelo! There are so many factors to consider when making a big move like that, I'd be happy to answer specific questions for you. Please call/text me so we can discuss in greater detail. Mark (719) 685-6964
Hey bud I've been watching your videos and I'm so psyched. I'm going to be a transplant from New Orleans I plan to move there within 4 months to 6 months will be getting an apartment until I find a job. I'm definitely going to look you up when I get to the springs. You say the housing market is expensive would I be able to find a single-family home between 150 and 200 k?

People of Colorado Springs are the sweetest most chill people I have ever encountered. I have seen many Californians move to CS and are total assholes. ....After watching a dozen or so videos on Colorado Springs I am surprised at no mention of Christian churches. I had heard that it was a central location for many, yet not a single video has talked about that.........
Some other important aspects of the Springs: Mega Churches. The Springs is CONSERVATIVE and CHRISTIAN. This is either a pro or a con, depending on the person. It’s been almost 20 years since I left after high school, so I can’t say if it’s changed in that regard, but as liberal leaning, atheist, high school student living there in the 90’s, this aspect of the Springs was practically unbearable.
There are pockets of liberals near the downtown area, the universities, and Manitou Springs. Young people have been moving into the state who tend to be liberal. The downtown & west side will tend to be more liberal, the north and east side more conservative. Yes, there is a strong evangelical presence as it has been a headquarters for that for many years. Five military bases surround the city, so the political perspective is conservative. The whole county, El Paso county, is strongly conservative. If you have a problem with that, don't move there, move to the ultra liberal cesspool that Denver has become. BTW, Denver City council is pushing legal safe heroin injection sites, legal homeless camping in all outdoor public spaces and is already doing away with traffic lanes to make way for Agenda 21 bike paths, so the horrible traffic in Denver is only goin to get worse.
I forgot to mention that it is legal in Denver to urinate and defecate in public streets and sidewalks, This is to protect illegal immigrants from being deported, Denver is on its way to being the next sh*thole San Francisco. If you love what SFO has become, you will love Denver.
I love it here... mountains, weather, people!!!
Me too!
Lived here since 1996-1997, still here, it’s better than living in the desert, but I wish we had a beach to go to regularly like in Alaska.

What is the average house price in El Paso County? Crime rates? Political climate?
That is my kind of weather! Love the views.... Ugh Pot Holes! Great video
You failed to mention the horrendous hail storms. Golf ball to baseball size. No fun replacing you car & roof routinely.
You're right, the hail storms seem to have gotten worse the last few years! We did mention them in our video on the weather in COS.
