Hey y'all!
I've now had a chance to take practice runs deep into the game on Extreme Difficulty settings with No Sleep Heal and Slow Med Pack Heal and lemme tell ya... IT'S BRUTAL. I have to say it's worse than Skyrim Legendary difficulty. I'm basically spending my days getting bitch-slapped to the dark side of the moon and back and then strategizing the best ways to overcome. Stuff I never would have thought of. Helluva lot of fun! (lol)... You'll see in videos to come! 😀

Like I already wrote, there is no way I am going to lower the player damage. The plan I have is to with limited carry weight, weighted ammo and ship cargo available only form inside the ship. And probably also with all the healing limitations. It won't be a happy Dustie :)

So, Extreme Difficulty makes enemies more resistant to even environmental damage (like those exploding containers)? They should call it "Hard Core Slack Mode"! :)
Actually with the higher XP percent it pays to put points in the environment resistance skill and infection skill. It gets you back to normal pretty quick but then for the rest of the game you gain XP much faster.
Your distaste for Vasco is hilarious. Maybe BGS should add the option to keep him in the ship for this portion of the game
I seem to recall that the Kreet upper roof area has some goodies. Climb the stairs before leaving the research facility rooftop.

I’m glad you’re playing the new difficulty. It makes this a completely new game. The damages from environmental and infections make it finally necessary to put pints in those skills. And you can make capacity less but counteract with weight lifting. Then all the extra XP builds up so much faster. It really changes the dynamics and makes the game more fun.
Intense stuff! Can't wait to try it out myself on the 15th!

I found tea, coffee and water tend to get drunk fairly quickly in my runs, mainly as their benefits are pretty useful and don't conflict.
And it also just occured to me that Barbarella looks like Naomi from the Expanse series
My survival playthrough I actually found a use for Chunks! Kind of reminds me of Judge Dredd, "Eat recycled food, It's good for the environment and ok for you!" LOL The Original not the Reboot. I didn't go extreme difficulty I'm still on very hard but I backed off my carry weight. Make distilled water at the cooking station and turn it into Alien Tea then some form of Chunks and I'm good to go. Relatively light weight and covers the bases plus an XP boost.
Barbarella looks suspiciously like Chewbecca. I see a pattern emerging ...

thank you, good video. what i started doing with the lock picks is, start at the middle, and work my way out. at the beginning of the game some were screwed. I haven't had that problem lately.
Another explosive barrel under the stairs, also a couple of corrosive barrels in the corner. You know, just to be sure. I actually blew Brogans lackys off the platform 😂
That run on amp , reminds me of ben johnson in the olympics . If your old enough to know you know . lol........
Love the vids as always. Seeing u save scum is tough tho. Never seen u do it. Always went by the "i know exactly what im doing and im gonna get it done quickly." Its weird lol
So on this difficulty does the spacesuit matter more if we can adjust the environment

I am wondering how the skill for increased carry weight works. Is it the same number as before the patch (and thus useless, when you have 1.000 carry capacity), or is it improved?

I believe the update added turning your own screenshots into loading screens.
