ABOUT MAJOR SLACK
Major Slack is a veteran gamer who has been playing video games ever since they were first invented. (No joke. He was right there plunking his quarters into Pong when it first came out at the arcades in 1972.)

More Starfield. Man. I look forward to these videos every time. I scoured youtube the other day. Just seeing if I could find anyone who does walkthroughs like MajorSlack. There aren't even any that are close, in my opinion. You're the man, Slack. Thanks
No one does walkthroughs like Major Slack.
I had no idea you can fast travel from inside. It wasn't possible in Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and 4, so I haven't even tried it. Another plus points for Major Slack.
What the duck is with the books and 2.000 dinneros? (*googling session*)... I see! Good thing I am hoarding all the books at my place in the Lodge. I didn't know about it. I haven't even visited Akila City yet 😁
Well, that was fun to watch. Though it would have been even more entertaining if Vasco responded to being repeatedly blown up, etc by refusing to carry your junk at the end. 😋
i will go back for the book
Really enjoying this
Load screens are no issue.. handling the ship is a nightmare ( and I played Space Engineers for years)
There are a few things that deserve legit criticism of this game. However, overall, I think this is a very good game. A lot of the criticisms is just influencers hate mongering for clicks, and all of their followers jumping on the bandwagon. Some of the criticisms I heard are just ridiculous.
I just hate how its literally the same companion system that they have in fallout4, everything else is great imo. They always get in the way, push you around when you're getting in position, and steal kills. I hate missions that REQUIRE bringing along a companion. This is why i never bring companions in fallout 4. At least in new vegas they don't get in the way that much.
I found book “OLIVER TWIST “ on the same floor as the locked office on a side desk…Playing 2024..
Watching Vasco walk in front of you while you are attempting to loot a body/box reminds me of the most annoying "feature" of Bethesda companions' AI - they always do this From Lydia and Serana, to Piper and now Starfield companions. They just won't stay out of your way. So I rarely travel with companions past their quests.
Same reason why i hate companions in bethesda games. what's strange is that these things didn't happen in my new vegas playthrough. The AI was surprisingly bearable in that game despite its age. I can't stand companions in fallout 4 though, especially that one quest that requires you to bring a robot along.
Seeing you utilize the ship as an inventory management system and doing it well makes me hope that The Elder Scrolls 6 has something like a pack mule you can get for free early in the game that'll follow you around and let you offload your inventory without it counting as a companion and without doing/taking damage. I love going solo so having that option would be great
Check 12:13 of the video, you're looking straight at a weapon rack with a Grendal and ammo...
Been a long time since I saw your content, glad to rediscover you!
Thanks for this tip. I'm going to bookmark this for myself.
👍
Loving this Slack! Despite putting in over 100+ hours myself, I've already learned a ton from just your 4 vids! Never realized the money opportunities with the books.
🔥
And no Ripshank. Got a Veterans Deep Mining Pack. Gotta love the randomness🙂
Vasco is the worst, damn you Bethesda
Just to make everyone aware. I didn't find the Oliver Twist book until entering Research 02. It was on a desk immediately to my left when entering that part of the building. Not sure if it's a random spot. But yea.
The only novel by Charles Dickens you should loot is Oliver Twist to unlock the London quest, the book seller will not pay 2,000 credits for any Charles Dickens novels. Once you unlock that quest you can drop that novel.
Vasco makes a great mule carrying all your extra loot. So do all your companions. But Vasco and the Hero Worshiper never complain.
At the end you missed good loot on the high platform on the roof of the building.
👍
Sigh.. poor Vasco ! I have to admit though, when I first started playing, one of the thoughts I had was that Bethesda had somehow managed to make the NPC companion AI even worse than it was in Fallout 4 😛Question for later on Slack: I know Frankenstein isn't on the list of books for Sinclair's (assuming I'm looking at a similar one as you've created) but I could swear I sold it to her at some point. I remember her carrying on about Mary Shelly etc. but I can't be sure. Love your work as always Slack 👍
If you check her inventory, you'll see she already has a copy of Frankenstein. I know, it seems like a book she'd buy but she won't.
Thought you could tell Vasco to hold position and he would stay until the next loading screen.
Who the what now? There is no such option in Vasco's list of dialogue options.
I don't think that's an option for him at this stage because he's technically not a full companion.
Military post to the north and a abandoned weapon station to the east
How come Hayden Wynn - Senior Microbiologist doesn't include his pronouns in his correspondence?
I love the technique for disabling vasco 😂
I completed this bit following this vid I found that going back through after killing the boss you van re-loot the bodies only the pirate that is
No Oliver Twist or War of the Worlds for me :-( Bleak House, Frankenstein and The Comet. Just have to hope they turn up elsewhere I guess
@gordonbalfour6099, The Comet is worth 2000 credits.
@@MajorSlackAttack Looks like I'll be going back then. Left it behind!😂
Can you hi-jack the pirate ship at this moment? Or go inside and kill the crew for more loot and possibly come back later for the ship? I did the persuasion option with Brogan.
No, if you approach the hatch, it says 'Inaccessible'.
@@MajorSlackAttack Thank you for the answer, boss.
I'm playing along with you, but I'm much slower. These videos keep me focused. Otherwise, I would have no rudder.
I'm doing the walk-through with you and learning a ton of good stuff even after having completed the artifact mission twice. One bummer is that on Xbox there aren't any shortcuts I can find to change weapons but otherwise quickly as you do on the PC. If there is please let me know.
My Unknown was an abandoned mine. And, Hey you shouldn't disparage Vasco De Gama, he was a great explorer.
So that's how the lockpicking mechanic works!🤯 Thank you so much, Major Slack. I appreciate your hard work on these walkthroughs.😎
Nice
great video slack i do love the lore behind this place on the computers project petshop sounds very very scary and awesome video , ive made a special character following this walkthrough even though im on ng+ with my main character enjoying every second
Woohoo!
Notches. They're notches imo. Tabs works too though.
Excellent work Slack. I like the strategy on neutering that droid.
Smart move letting us read the journals! Thanks as always slack!
11:52 I didn't get the Oliver Twist book or War of the Worlds book. I did get the Frankenstein book, though. Either way, it was a great walkthrough! I liked the digipick information because I kept full sending whichever one I noticed fit first without checking and was confused when it became impossible sometimes. XD.
Yeah - me too. No Oliver Twist book, but Frankenstein. Assuming it will sell for the 2000 credit
You can use the scanner to help locate bodies. They are highlighted in blue.
I did use the scanner. Obviously, that doesn't always work. 😎
The books appear to be random as i didn't get a single one of the 2000 credits 😞
Ya I didn’t get Oliver Twist book
Hot Damn Slack to Back to Back videos!
👍
Can’t you just tell Vasco to wait, or is that not available this early on?
What're your thoughts on the Digipick mechanic? I can't be the only one who thinks it looks rreeallyy tedious
It's better than the master locks on Skyrim, having to get a pick within 3 pixels of the right spot was ridiculous.
There are mods for that ;-)
Yay - good morning all
As compared to the No load screens that were advertised... Just food for thought
I forgot to search Broden (or whatever his name was) and his men before I jumped over the wall to get to the other ship. So when I couldn't get back up to the roof, I ran all the way through the facility again and a lot of the soldiers and some of the lab people, had regained their stuff. Including credits. Has this happened to anyone else?
Another good lock picking method is to solve it from the inside out. When you line up the picks, they stay where you leave them.
I didn’t get a Oliver Twist book
Same
Alright it's here!
No Oliver Twist book for me slack 👎🏻
You might be able to steal one later on in the Freestar Rangers headquarters. Stay tuned! 😎
Oh😅
Vasco is a prime example of why I don't use companions in any Bethesda game
Brilliant work Slack 👏
Huh, I got “the comet” for the book which did not give me a mission.
Good stuff! Thanks
Subscribed to Slack in the Far Cry 3 days, and I know how people hate on the “missed-a-spotters”. But Sweet Rolls! Surely I’m not the only person to have found them…
Yeah, I found them as well. LoL. They are above the entrance to Kreet Research Lab
It does not appear to have the same weapon I just got a legendary Tesla Eon 33:16
Hey is this playthrough on very hard difficulty??
No. Default.
😻😻😻
The book was not there and Oliver twist war of the worlds, just the Frankenstein, I'm playing on Xbox maybe the problem
On the science crate I got a purple backpack, it is called the hauler's deep mining pack combat veteran -15% damage from humans and resource hauler: resources weigh 25% less, and comes with basic boostpack
Same for me. I'm also on xbox
👍🏻
what if I run out of digi picks while trying to open safe at research lab?
Then you are done till you find more.
I call them pins, like the pins on a lock
Question ,do the guns work the same as in fallout 4 , ?I.E when you pick up a fallen enemy weapon ,the ammo in said weapon transfers to your inventory ? allowing you to drop said weapon & continue without overloading your inventory ..anyone know ?
Looks like picking up guns do add ammo. Major Slack has 92 ammo for Maelstrom (gun uses 6,5 MM ammo type) at 5:42. At 6:13 he picks up 52 pieces of 6,5 MM and Maelstrom. At 13:22 he has 177 ammo for Maelstrom.
Weird. At 15:41 Major Slack has 79 ammo, picks up 36 ammo and Maelstrom and the ammo count is 115. At 16:42 he did get ammo from picking up Maelstrom...
@@MrSanta78 appreciate the reply ,i have been attempting to dicover this the same way from watching gameplay & can not get a confirmed count either ... guess i,ll just have to play the game & find out .
@@richardvowles-j8w No problem. I go with looting everything. Ammo gain seems to be random. Weapons has very good weight/gold ratio, so I am picking them up.
Comment, for visibility.
👍
Sinclair books will not take anything by Charles Dickens
Yeah I know but I never read any Dickens so I wouldn't know Dickens from Dr. Seuss. Which one was Dickens?
You never had to read the worst book in the history of EVER?!? We had to read A Tale of Two Cities at the end of freshman year in high school. The teacher broke 3 yardsticks smacking desks to wake us up because everyone kept falling asleep because it was so boring.
Nope. All the way through public school and high school, we never had to read any Dickens (grew up in Toronto, Ontario).
We read Orwell, Salinger and Steinbeck but no Dickens.
Oh yeah, and in Theatre Arts class, we read enough Shakespeare to stun an ox. Let me tell ya... you don't know what boring is until you not only have to read Shakespeare but you also have to memorize all that medieval English gobbledy-gook so that you can put on a play.
Brutal. 😣
@@MajorSlackAttack Macbeth
Whole thing. 2x in High school and once in Junior high I move school and both schools ended up doing it. 😒
2 plays as well.
Some reason school in South Africa had a run on it. Thought the school change would save me.
Not so much 😕
At least final year was Taming of the Shrew and we could have some fun with that.
Ha ha... I also did Macbeth and Taming of the Shrew! 😎
The book collector already has too much Dickens . . . so that's why it wasn't on your list :)
Been disliking airlocks
Same, been considering making a mod to make them open faster, straight up remove them or their collision.
Sure they add realism but its just useless timewaste especially when going through them multiple times
