If you call Alex's number, it takes you to a voicemail saying he's either being punished, or busy re-elasticating Greg's swimming trunks.
He also says if you have any questions about Taskmaster, call back in two years, and those two years are nearly up. He's almost definitely got something great planned.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the launch of their new book/real-world puzzle "Bring Me the Head of the Taskmaster"?. Which I have, of course, pre-ordered. :D
@@NeilTalks That's what I thought! Huge respect to them if they've been planning this the whole time.
Any idea if it was figured out what he did ?@@15schaa
Ed was the one who stole Greg’s pants for mark watson
When Rose Matefao first came to the UK (from New Zealand)... She split an apartment with Nish Kumar (from series 5), and was dating James Acaster (series 7). Also, Ed Gamble was the support act for Greg when he toured so this series Ed really tries to tap into Greg's motivations.
David Badiel is one of my all time favourite contestants simply because of how utterly incompetent he comes across when actually he's a very intelligent man.
He certainly comes across as utterly incompetent... :)
@@NeilTalks Paul Sinha is a qualified doctor and holder of the pub quiz UK title, and regularly wins awards on trivia contests...he was useless on Taskmaster, but still fun!
Whoop!! Glad they have started uploading it so fast! Ed is probably the biggest fan of the show ever so it's fun to see whether his "fanboy" knowledge of the show actually helps him or is a hinderance during the series (much like Richard Herring in Series 10)! :D Jo and David have earned their comedy royalty stripes over their careers so although they may not be the best at playing along with the format they at least can provide a lot of unique fun along the way, it really is a good cast as usual! Interestingly back in the 90's David was half of comedy partnership Baddiel and Skinner with Series 1's Frank Skinner and although they haven't done much together for many years it seems like you can still feel their similar comedic DNA roots in places during this show.
It's still early in the series obviously, but I can see what you're saying about Baddiel and Skinner. Thanks for teaching me more about the contestants - it feels like the start of a really strong series.
I have to confess I asked, “in the world!?” out loud in unison with David. Should I be concerned 🤦♀️😂
Almost certainly.
@@qwertyTRiG I blame lockdown and being an idiot 🤣🤣
@@jen6879 Perfectly reasonable explanations, both.
This simply is the best thing on TV.
I have a hard time arguing against this stance right now.
It’s so weird that I get jealous we don’t get all the series on UA-cam in the U.K. despite the fact I have free access to all previous series through the Channel app.
I mean, exactly how spoiled am I?!
Pretty spoiled. But then, so am I. :)
Why would you get jealous rather than just type in a different URL and get them all?!
@@icturner23 On the scale of things there's hardly any difference.
@Ann Other I have UA-cam Premium, so I can see them without ads on UA-cam.
Look up Mysterious Girl that will give you your answer to who Peter Andre is...
"Hide three [egglants] in this room"
....run to the kitchen. If there's an extra one in the kitchen, bring that back, hide one of the [now four] somewhere easy, keep one sitting on the table where it started, then hide one really well, then hide one somewhere easy like the first one _but stay there!_ Just stand there waiting and when Alex walks in pretend like you were trying really hard to find a good place but you lost track of the time, and let him "catch you hiding one". He'll find the one you're pretending to be halfway through hiding, he'll find the easy one, and he'll find the one you didn't touch. But you hid three. Just like the task said. No more no fewer. And Alex missed one of the ones you hid. You can even have the timer ongoing for an infinite score like Nina's "sink the bowling ball" [or, presumably until whoever filmed it tells somebody to get the eggplant before it rots, in which case Alex can then never find it where you hid it, you still score off the charts]
It's such a fun season and the contestants are hilarious together!
The first episode was definitely a very promising start. Cheers!
New taskmaster reaction, hooray!
Right?!? So excited that this is finally dropping on UA-cam!
Ed gamble is good friends with Greg. He supported Greg on a couple of live tours. He’s also a huge taskmaster fan.
I love that comedians are also fans of all these shows. Like you know they want to compete, not just make a paycheque.
He also stole Greg's trousers, if you remember that.
I'm surprised Canadians don't say Aubergine over Eggplant considering the French influence
Katie Wix was on Lee Mack's sitcom Not Going Out for a few years. She played Tim Vine's girlfriend, Daisy. Daisy is unbelievably stupid. Katie played her expertly...
I think that's True! - bing!
To fill some time before TM12 ,may I suggest the following -
Game 11 - Halve - Beat Henssler ( Competitive vegetable halving )
from the series
Schlag den Star (Beat the Star).
Keep up the good work and have a great summer.
Ok, I'm intrigued. I've never heard of Schlag den Star, but then, other than Dark, I can't even think of any other German shows. I'll put it on the list if there's a gap between the end of TM9 and the start of TM12 on UA-cam. Thanks!
Series 9 is good craic. Jo Brand actually loved nearby to me when I was growing up, I was definitely familiar with this cast lol. Ed Gamble also does a great job at hosting the Taskmaster podcast if you're a fan of podcasts :) He has another podcast that he does with James Acaster of S7
I'll have to check out Ed's podcast - I've been avoiding it because I had a funny feeling he was on Series 9 and I didn't want any spoilers. How long has he been doing it? From before he was a contestant?
@@NeilTalks He's been doing it since S10 started I think. They picked him out because he had pod experience. It's a great listen but it probably is best to start it after you've finished this season because I'm sure there's casual spoilers. But the guests and bts info are all worth it
Jo Brand is probably a big fan of Henry VIII. UK Taskmaster is extremely funny, and entertaining
Katie aside from this i only really know from starring in a few series of Lee Mack's brilliant sit com, Not Going Out (which he writes and stars in).
Loving your content Neil - ❤️🇬🇧Subscribed
Cheers, Amber! And many thanks for subbing!
Loving the haircut, Neil!
LOL! It had to happen. And now you'll get to see how quickly it grows back!
Now we know Covid is an aerosol transmitted disease more than contact, we should be able to get closer to each other (in well-ventilated spaces) at least if it's not for too long. I loved your reactions here - yes, the third lady is Katy Wix, I keep wanting to call her Daisy! - you got them all spot-on in your initial assessment.
Hey Neil I've tried to do taskmaster on my channel and it never works I've resorted to just blocking the whole video curious if you can give me advice on how to edit the video
Excellent! Will this be once a week, or does it come out quicker than that?
If the excellent folks at Taskmaster stick to their pattern, they'll release episodes once a week. Therefore, so will I. :)
I enjoy that you're enjoying watchichin the brits.. it's noticeable, what with the clapping and change of word use.
How ironic you started with the worst cast😂
Actually I'm finishing with this cast. I've seen every other series. I just happened to have watched most of them (other than 11) before I started NEIL Talks.
I think I disagree with your judgement, King.
Series 9 is far from the worst. Imo, just behind 4, 5, and 7 EDIT: and 14. That season was amazing
