So glad the world is catching on to this show. I took a chance on it when it was first released and it blew my mind, but nobody else I knew was watching. Maybe one of the best seasons of television I’ve ever seen.
The season 2 official trailer came out today so naturally I came looking for a reaction video and yours was the first I found. Loved it so much! Also you probably figured this out because you posted this a year ago, but the reason Helly’s dad looks so familiar is because he’s the current CEO…the very first creepy wax figure you see when they went to the perpetuity wing. Can’t wait for season two!
I worked at a retail store on the third floor, no windows, only white lights and high ceilins. It was crazy how you couldnt tell the time and how easy it was to stay lunch hour just laying in the break room. Many took naps there. It was scary cause they arrived at 10 and left at 21.00 without seeing the sun, and did it 5 days a week, some for years. It was an easy gig, but you got no life.
Very common misconception but no, they generally can't put you to sleep during brain surgery, they need to be able to talk to you through it to make sure they don't do any unintended damage.
I’m so glad so many people are getting into Severance. It’s such a brilliant show and it holds up well to rewatches - there are so many little details you can catch! I also highly recommend reading the Lexington Letter (the supplemental story). It fills in some tech gaps but also adds more to the mystery of Lumon. Can’t wait for season 2!
This is right up there for me with Westworld season 1. Absolutely top tier story, cinematography, acting, script, everything of the best that TV can do now. Really enjoyed your reaction, glad you loved it too.
This show is such fridge horror. I work in an office and have been working in an office my whole life, this show hits so hard. That finale killsssss me, it makes me mad how much they all drag their feet and waste their time at the end there and then the cliffhanger AAAAA
I just realised Cobel ratting on them using the OTC was because she was going to be outed for everything she was a part of so she needed to stop them for her own needs. Also great reaction, mate. I binged this on my own so it was cool to see someone else's reaction to everything ☺
Gawwwwd what a show. How did they manage to not make me suspicious of Helly? So obvious she had to be someone relevant/important, but I never saw it coming in a million years. And when Dylan stands up to Milchick, man what a badass. 2 scenes in particular - the music dance experience, and the waffle party - make me think of the show Legion. It's not Severance level quality, but I really liked its whole style - telepathic battles depicted as dance-offs, switching genres halfway through an episode to convey someone's power etc. - really weird, unexpected shit that I found very compelling. But yeah man, they better be hard at work on Season 2 - some pretty huge promises made this season and I need answers! Wtf is going on!?
Cobel put Mark and Ms. Casey together for the wellness check with the stolen candle to see if his Outie memories could be triggered. She's still trying to figure out re-integration.
i might have watched this show a couple times already + the times i watched reactions to it. and i just got shivers down my spine when he screams "SHE'S ALIVE"... AGAIN.
I just finished Severance and was completely blown away. I wanted to see it again right away but thought that watching a reaction video would be fun...so I found yours, watched it, and I gotta say it was great. Great video...glad you loved it too.
Severance was also my first Apple TV experience & im still hooked, there’s also an e book? I think😅 that talks more about lumen & other employees that got messages to their outies. I can’t wait for season two!
Brilliant series! That season finale was relatively short, but it was precisely as long as Dylan was able to hold the OTC switches. Brilliant! Less than a month until season 2!
i don't know if any other reactor has mentioned that they recognized dichen lachman from agents of shield. i also loved that you called milchik a good looking man because i'm sure most of us agree lol. man, devon talking about gemma with so much love makes me cry because i think this is the first time she's talked to him about her to mark in a long time, even if it's not her mark
The Good Place had been my all -time favorite series. I was telling everyone they needed to watch it. But Severance, man, is an incredible journey way beyond TGP. I'm so excited for season 2! BTW, when I first heard that Devon and Ricken named their baby Eleanor, I immediately thought of Eleanor Sheltrop. Could this be an Easter egg?
Idk but I'm just glad they actually say Eleanor correctly in severance. The way that white haired dude in TGP says it bugs me so much that I couldn't get into it
Lumon must have done a great job on advertizing, since Mark chose that option, rather than throw himself into work. Work is the best thing for grief. I can understand that he could not fall apart in the classroom, but a physical job would have done him good. Instead, he drinks himself to sleep every night, since all he has in his head is his dead wife.
This show was easily the most mysterious masterpiece & insane rewatchability (if that's a word 😂) show I've ever watched. I would recommend watching the whole season atleast twice. You'll be surprised how insane little details they planted from ep1.

What I don't get is, how did they not know about Helly committing suicide if Helly is the daughter of the company owner. Does that mean the Board is NOT the Egan family and another faction?
It looks like it. The board might be just some random people not necessarily related to the Egons but just employed by them. I don't think anyone from the Egon family besides Helly and maybe her dad is actually working at Lumon. Egon was just the founder and Helena simply was excited to be part of the project (kinda as a "nepo baby" because she doesn't get paid) but it doesn't seem to be a family bussiness per se, they are just the founders and Helly happens to work there because Helena wanted to be part of the severed experience.
*spoiler* the board is hellys father. You can hear him mumbling multiple times. Even in her first time in the breakroom. My Theorie is cobel just suppressed the suicide Information of leaving the severed floor thinking she can get ahold of the situation. That’s why she gets fired immediately

I want to like this show, but as you pointed out during episode one, this is no procedure you would want to get through. There are many logical flaws. Why did they let Helly wake up on a conference table? Also the scene when she is leaving the office and is turning into her outie, makes no sense, because as her outie she would be aware of the situation and she would not reenter the office. Also Marc's motivation to undergo the procedure is at least a horrible mistake. He wants to go to work and become an innie so he would forget about his wife and his grief. But he goes into the office and leaves it pretty much the same time and becomes grieving Marc again without remembering having forgotten about his wife for eight hours.

I'm not sure if you stopped watching or something, but we saw later that when Helly left to the stairwell, Milchik was there to reassure her so she'd go back in (15:25). @@brady3319 1. Maybe it is not a logical flaw, but it is at least very weird to let someone wake up on a wooden table after they had a brain surgery and lost all their memories.
