    The season 2 official trailer came out today so naturally I came looking for a reaction video and yours was the first I found. Loved it so much!
    Also you probably figured this out because you posted this a year ago, but the reason Helly’s dad looks so familiar is because he’s the current CEO…the very first creepy wax figure you see when they went to the perpetuity wing.
    Can’t wait for season two!

    I worked at a retail store on the third floor, no windows, only white lights and high ceilins. It was crazy how you couldnt tell the time and how easy it was to stay lunch hour just laying in the break room. Many took naps there. It was scary cause they arrived at 10 and left at 21.00 without seeing the sun, and did it 5 days a week, some for years. It was an easy gig, but you got no life.

    I’m so glad so many people are getting into Severance. It’s such a brilliant show and it holds up well to rewatches - there are so many little details you can catch!

    Gawwwwd what a show. How did they manage to not make me suspicious of Helly? So obvious she had to be someone relevant/important, but I never saw it coming in a million years. And when Dylan stands up to Milchick, man what a badass.
    2 scenes in particular - the music dance experience, and the waffle party - make me think of the show Legion. It's not Severance level quality, but I really liked its whole style - telepathic battles depicted as dance-offs, switching genres halfway through an episode to convey someone's power etc. - really weird, unexpected shit that I found very compelling.
    But yeah man, they better be hard at work on Season 2 - some pretty huge promises made this season and I need answers! Wtf is going on!?

    Lumon must have done a great job on
    advertizing, since Mark chose that option, rather than throw himself into work. Work is the best thing for grief. I can understand that he could not fall apart in the classroom, but a physical job would have done him good. Instead, he drinks himself to sleep every night, since all he has in his head is his dead wife.

    • @michelle1794
      @michelle1794 Рік тому +4

      It looks like it. The board might be just some random people not necessarily related to the Egons but just employed by them. I don't think anyone from the Egon family besides Helly and maybe her dad is actually working at Lumon. Egon was just the founder and Helena simply was excited to be part of the project (kinda as a "nepo baby" because she doesn't get paid) but it doesn't seem to be a family bussiness per se, they are just the founders and Helly happens to work there because Helena wanted to be part of the severed experience.

    I want to like this show, but as you pointed out during episode one, this is no procedure you would want to get through. There are many logical flaws. Why did they let Helly wake up on a conference table? Also the scene when she is leaving the office and is turning into her outie, makes no sense, because as her outie she would be aware of the situation and she would not reenter the office.
    Also Marc's motivation to undergo the procedure is at least a horrible mistake. He wants to go to work and become an innie so he would forget about his wife and his grief. But he goes into the office and leaves it pretty much the same time and becomes grieving Marc again without remembering having forgotten about his wife for eight hours.

    • @brady3319
      @brady3319 Рік тому +5

      1. How is Helly waking up on a table a logical flaw?
      2. I'm not sure if you stopped watching or something, but we saw later that when Helly left to the stairwell, Milchik was there to reassure her so she'd go back in (15:25). Plus, we saw in her outie video that she does not see her innie as a person/doesn't care for her feelings/was only doing it to promote the procedure
      3. But doing the procedure means he had to grieve for 8 less hours every day. And regardless, he was grieving, so I doubt he was thinking rationally

    • @Funnysterste
      @Funnysterste Рік тому

      @@brady3319 1. Maybe it is not a logical flaw, but it is at least very weird to let someone wake up on a wooden table after they had a brain surgery and lost all their memories. Why not put her in a comfortable bed with at least a nurse watching for her and being there when she wakes up?
      2. I watched those scenes. Doesn't make it better.
      3. No, he does not grieve for 8 hours less because those 8 hours of oblivion are erased from his mind. He enters the workplace grieving and he leaves the workplace grieving - and there has no times passed from his point of view. Though his day has only 16 hours, it is 16 hours of grief (except when he is sleeping).

      @@Funnysterste 1. Well that wouldn't be as good of an introduction to the show. And I think it was done to symbolize Helly's birth as an innie and capture how disoriented and uncomfortable she was.
      2. How does it not make it better? Again, it was clear Helly did not care about her innie at all.
      3. 16 is less than 24. He's grieving less than he was prior to the procedure, even if 8 hours are absent from his mind.

      @@brady3319 1. How is it symbolic when it actually happened? If the whole show is a metaphor, what does it stand for?
      2. Helly is not just evil towards herself, she also is silly. The question is if the innie and the outie are two separate people or is it the same person with two different memories. They surely share the same body.
      3. It does not matter how many hours per day Mark is grieving. He does grieve every second of his conscious existence as an outie. There is no vacation from grief when he enters the workplace because he is leaving the workspace the very moment after. The only change that happens to him is that he is tired from the work he had not experienced.

      @@Funnysterste he’s not going to work to get through grieving.
      He couldn’t continue his work as a history professor because he was miserable and it bled into his work life. He took the job so that he had a stable employment. Innie Mark is happy and works all day. Grieving mark can grieve but still successfully make his wages. That’s the point.

      Because your friends opinion matters more than the overwhelmingly positive reception everyone else gives it? Silly reason

      Lol, maybe your friend had been severance in the corporate world. You are working for a company that considers you a number, an enslaved person for their pockets. You never have a life outside of work because you have no time for social life, and when you do, it’s work you’re thinking about. Glad your good friend convinced you to be loyal to your office/line job.

      Your friend has shitty taste and you should have your own criteria for judging things.
