Brillant as always Propa. Just one question. Where are your Lineker and Zuckenberger (I especially enjoyed that one) videos? I cant seem to find them anymore.
Likewise, I was so relieved when he finally became a world champion, it was the very least he deserved.
Super harsh stoppage in the first Froch fight and super unlucky to have to fight Froch and Badou Jack both in their respective prime for a world title.
Just so glad he got there in the end and has retired happy, healthy and regrown a full head of hair.
@@adambentley3171 never watched the badou jack fight at the time and still haven’t got round to it but wasn’t it controversial.I was late finding out about George but not as late as people first hearing him leading upto the eubank jr fight.seemed I was the only 1 in my circle not saying eubank jr is on his way to another win.

Love Groves, his perseverance is admirable. People wrote him off after the second Froch loss, but he just worked harder until his goals were achieved and he retired with class

I don't know what it was about Georgie boy but I'd never miss one of his fights, one of the most entertaining fighters I've ever seen. Maybe it was his sense of vulnerability and knockout power that had me on the edge of my seat.

Groves is pretty underrated. It was watching him (and a few others) when it finally hit home that I would never be a professional sports person. Not only was I only just less good than shit at all sports, but I was now also older than all the famous sportsmen on telly.
Experienced the same myself. Hits home doesn’t it. If I didn’t love booze and pizzas so much I’d have been a world champion.

Propa brings a sense of community to the boxing world that I feel we've always lacked. most fans are casual and cant hang with the nerdy boxing chat true boxing fans can exchange. This channel gets me my kicks without having to chat to anyone. easier to pretend I know something about football normally....

Fascinating, apparently Groves is the only fighter ever to have the latter part of his career precede the earlier part.
No-one in the world of boxing youtubers does it better sir, such a fantastic blend of incisive, well-informed commentary and laugh out loud memery pokery. Best boxing on the 'Tube, and I don't mean when Grovesy had his Oyster card rejected at Baker Street. GG is a legend of British Boxing and you've done him great honour with this one. The disclaimer at the end was the proverbial cherry as well.

Groves beating Eubank with one hand is one of the gutsiest moments in boxing, and certainly one of my very favorite. George is a legend. People loved to see him win and were gutted to see him lose. Classy, technical, and a true warrior above all!! I wish he enjoys his retirement, the Saint gave us epic fights!!

The George Groves Podcast is actually mint. I thought it was gonna be shit, but I started on the Froch one and then went back to the beginning. Genuinely funny and interesting. Ended up rattling through em all. You can Miss the Azim brothers one and the Barry McGuigan one, but in general they're defo worth a go.
Why skip those in particular?
@@goofyneufy4965 Barry can’t stay on a point and rambles and the azim brothers are boring (on the podcast) and are clearly just there as a help to the mcguigans. Just my opinion.
@@matthewstephens6848 Fair points. I quite enjoyed listening to Barry's dulcet tones. Less to do with what he was saying, ( although I found certain points interesting.) and more to do with his accent and voice. I agree that the azim brothers were there for a circle jerk.

Always had a lot of time for George. It sounds odd to say about someone who won a world title, but I always thought he was unlucky to not go further on the talent he had. Or just unlucky. Getting KD'd late in the first by Badou Jack may have cost him the decision, and Froch in the first fight...

I met him in 2011 when I was on school of hard knocks and part of the show was to meet David Haye and do some circuit training which included taking 3 stomach punches off groves,1 either side and 1 down the middle which I remember really fucking hurt. Nice fella and a great boxer

He was to good to become a nearly man. So glad he stuck it out and got that world championship. It was on Brook vs Spence undercard as well of all things. Those were the glory days of British boxing

I remember screaming at the TV in a pub where most of the people weren't that interested in the fight when groves put froch on his arse, what a beautiful sight to behold. Shame about the outcome though, that was Georgie boys night and I was right there for him. Really good fighter that didn't get enough credit for my liking.
