Allison's moving and traveling lite. Making plans to clear and sort things right. What to sell and what to throw. Some things in the trash must go. Things less used she gives away. For nicer things, some will pay. Hooded shirts, it's understood. Will remind her always. Life is good. When autumn's past and winter is nigh. They will keep her safe and warm and dry. The items she forgot she had, could not bring joy or make her sad. She gives them with a generous heart. To needy souls before she parts. When it's time to go, she will not fail. With vehicles loaded and time to sail. On wings of wind, with heavy load. Wheels will hit the open road. Where she goes, she does not say. That's wise of her. We all need pray. Please keep her safe, on this trip. Until she boards her next big ship. Take care and stay safe, Allison. Much respect.
@eldergal Thank you for the compliment, Allison, but I best not quit my day job if I had one. It is, however, always my pleasure, and your kindness is also noted. Take care always.
I am preparing to move as well so I will be following you and observing you declutter and your downsizing approach. I am 63 and live alone in a home that is too large. I am not sure where I am going but I have a feeling that when that day comes, it will be sudden and I want to be prepared. It is difficult when you don't know if you will be in another home or apartment or camper for that matter.
Planning on moving to senior bldg. w. washer dryer in each unit. Also is new bldg.About time they recognize that seniors shouldn't be lugging laundry baskets around!
You inspired me to declutter a bookshelf today. I'm have removed about a quarter of the books for donations. Like you said in one of your other videos, removing unwanted stuff from your life makes me feel freer by reducing the load, both real and on my mind, I have to carry with me through the rest of my life. The hardest items to part with are those from people who were in your life but now have passed, the final material artifacts of the people you cared for. However, those people we cared about are gone. When I pass, no one else will know the meanings I place on the stuff so it's the memories and legacy they gave to me that count, not the physical objects.
I'm not moving, however autumn is here and my garden is going quickly. I've spent the morning and the last previous mornings, pulling and pruning plants that are spent that gave me great abundance and pulling plants that never produced. It's always a time of reflection. I think about the good and the bad, and hope for the future. We took down two sick trees in our backyard this year. I loved those trees, which were a 60 year old Japanese maple and a rare shag bark maple. My family had so much fun sitting inder those trees around the fire pit. My 1/4 acre lot is small, but I try to do what I can. So with the loss of these two trees, I am expanding my vegetable garden and with the extra sun; now maybe I'll be able to grow those watermelons and pumpkins! Fall is so beautiful, but I am a summer person.
I am also doing my decluttering/perching as I am watching your video of decluttering your home!! 😂 so much to do, overwhelming a little! 😂 but as I accomplished every little task, I celebrate!!👍
One thing I like about the normal sweat pant hems is they stop snow from creeping in my socks when I clean up the snow off my decks and driveway in the winter. That bronze horse looks like it would make a good doorstop.
Hi Allison, Gee, that's a lot of clothes! Thought I had a lot but obviously not! Amazing how much we acquire over the years. Probably bought most of them when working and then we no longer work we don't wear those clothes in our retirement. The cooker took me back some years! You have a lot of patience putting your clothes up for sale over the Internet but I can see you are on "a roll". Good luck with the rest of it.
Thanks for your comment weirdfish! Actually I have fewer clothes now than ever! Probably had my peak of clothing in my 30s/early 40s. Appreciate you watching this video; I am plugging away at more all the time.
I’m so glad you said you did that over three days, because I was thinking when I was watching you…Wow, she is so full of energy she got all that done in one day! Lol
22:48 Good to watch. Helps with getting rid of, or saving, things. We always say that we have to "get brutal" sometimes to purge things. I think you did that 🙂! 🙂🤝🕯
Thanks for the decluttering demo. I did this 3 months ago before moving into my new condo. Wow you're pretty good at making decisions about items. I held on to 13 yrs of clothes (I swore I would still wear). They were too nice to sell/donate. Yup, i wore them once or not at all. I have an issue with losing anything. Keepind them was comforting.... until I decided a new beginning was my next goal. Good planner you are. Maybe offer "decluttering" services as a part time business lady?
Thanks for watching this, Lindy, and for your suggestion - who knows, might try to help others with the decluttering! It's not always easy - my Achilles heel is sentimental things.
I don't have a problem getting rid of stuff... Now to follow this logic, one must understand that books and art supplies are not stuff. 😂 Ergo, the dilemma.
good video! I wish I could get rid of stuff like clothes I don't wear as easily as you. I seem to be very attached to everything. But at least, I try not to buy more stuff that I don't actually need. I TRY. I wish you good luck with your moving :) Great plans!
Thanks for sharing this, vibeke! I know it's harder for some people to get rid of stuff. If you want to start paring stuff down, just start small and let it build from there. Appreciate you watching!
I was doing this very same thing today. Loved watching you and your sorting/packing method. BTW, I have bin envy - looks like you have several nice clean ones. I was going to buy some since mine are pretty old and banged up, and I can't believe the price of them! I'm just going to have to clean up my old ones.
Well done 👏 It’s good to see you a little chirpier today 😊 Your lucky you really don’t have much stuff to sort out ! Have you decided where & when your leaving ? Take care 🫶 💜
Yes, income has increased because of You Tube, which finally gives me some ability to make a move. Been wanting to do this for a while. Thanks for watching, Ana!
Not moving there right away. Not all places in Europe are expensive; stay away from major cities and certain countries like the U.K. and Switzerland. I've done a lot of research on this. Anyway, it's still a ways off. Doing an interim move somewhere in the U.S. first. Thanks for watching!
@@eldergal I am very interested if you might share your top potential destinations/regions in Europe to test, and whether you are fluent in those regions, I have done MUCH research and have experienced various lifestyles from Norway to Spain, etc. Have enough Spanish under my belt… but prefer welcoming cultures with not-hot climates… and clean air/simpler life/high quality farms/food. Seems that former Eastern bloc countries are least expensive…
Some of those are great travel clothes!
They have some awesome secondhand stores in Europe.
Great job on getting things organized!
Thank you for donating. We have lots of people in need.
Thanks much Barbara! Appreciate you watching!

@dianejones493 Thank you, Diane.
@dianejones493 Likewise, Diane. You write a nice poem yourself. 👌
I love your creativity, John! So much fun to read. You should write songs, if you don't already do that. So appreciate your wonderful comment!

Thank u for your video im close to your age my daughter hasn't spoken to us for many years.... It can hurt for sure....
Sorry to hear that. I do know how much it hurts. Take care!
I’m taking a break from my own decluttering/packing so I can watch yours. 😂
😂 I can't seem to get started
Hope you've made good progress! Thanks for watching!
Impressive decluttering! I don't wear white shirts either! 🤣

I am your same age and doing at the same place in my life. I wish you all the very best as you make your life changes!
Positive view for me. It gives me good thoughts of life changing, improving things we can do for ourselves.
Amy, I see a lot of people living in campers in my local Walmart parking lot.

I have been decluttering yesterday and today! LOL.
You go, girl! Hope it's going well for you! Thanks for watching Gail!
I don't have time to watch right now, I hope this means you got that apartment you wanted😊
No I didn't; their requirements were too strict on verifying my You Tube income. But it wasn't meant to be. Thanks for watching, esteeb!

I know, the bins have become SO expensive. I bought mine between 10-20 years ago. Thanks for watching, Donna!
Good luck with your move. Is that right you dont know where your going yet? Exciting!!
It is definitely living on the edge right now! Thanks for watching, Florence!

My friend suggested get rid of one black bag of stuff per day.
Talbots is still around. Seems like you did a really good job Decluttering!

My local Goodwill gets so much stuff, they have to refuse donations on occasion in an effort to avoid overflow.
I used to donate to Goodwill I only give the salvation army and churches that are having sales Goodwill is out for themselves
I need to decluttering too, but right now I’ve lost my mo Jo ❤
You can do it! Thanks for watching!
Did you talk about why you’re moving? I hope it’s because your channel has grown and that means your income has increased. 🙏🏼
Yes, income has increased because of You Tube, which finally gives me some ability to make a move. Been wanting to do this for a while. Thanks for watching, Ana!

Eastern Europe is not so expensive and still very safe since thay are tough on migration from Africa/Middleeast.
Do they make summer sweaters?
They make summer hoodies!😊
