I am a 74 year young man, who in 2015 had 3 stents put in my heart following a sudden heart attack. I can not commend the staff at the John Radcliffe hospital enough for there patient treating a grumpy young man who hated needles and didn’t sleep the whole time I was there. They were marvellous and didn’t need my ungrateful attention. God bless you all for being there for me and many more whom you treat kindly and with love.
As a retired nurse, one of my favorite employees on this show is Jane the volunteer. Who works hard all the time seeing to people, both patients and staff, because she cares. I always so appreciated working with nursing assistants and other nurses that actually did their jobs with loving care, genuine, for others. Few and far apart. I rarely worked with truly caring people...too many were back stabbers. I did make some great friends that I had throughout my career. Only a few stayed friends with me after I became disabled and had to quit working when I could no longer walk or lift and care for patients and staff. My two main mentors were so wonderful for taking me under their wing. They had worked together for many years and were good friends, and they just took time to teach me everything. Nursing was such a stressful job for the most part. I love the teamwork I see here. I don't know what that inhaler pain reliever is, but it seems to work so well and so handy too. I've seen it used on ambulance shows too. I wonder what medication it is?

I went to this hospital as l was having trouble breathing and walking l was so poorly the nurse was not nice she me not to go near her l had a covid test before l went. I went home and made a complaint to pals. A few weeks later l had a massive heart attack l lucky to be alive. I now in heart failure l would not set foot in this hospital again.
That is what is frustrating about going to a busy ER. They usually just want to get people in for the money and out the door quickly as possible. At least here in the US it's that way. And DR.'s don't seem to get much training as they once did. If I hadn't been a nurse I wouldn't be able to self diagnose and demand the treatments I need. I feel for the people that don't have knowledge like I have even though I have been retired for years now.
@@lorenrobertson8039 I am a ex nurse and l love my job. I had to pay £230 to get my medication change as could not see my GP or Cardiologist. The best thing l have done is lose 3st 2lbs l no longer eat processed foods and l cut fat and sugar out l am diabetic and have Bronchiectasis. My Brother passed last year with heart liver and kidney failure. You have to take of yourself l in rehab once l finished l going to join the gym l am 70 and want to live many more year. Take good care 💖

Jane is a worthy volunteer, but she is too much in people's faces. I am sure she does a good job but she is too talkative with it all, I wanted to say 'gobby' but that is disrespectful, there you go. Maybe, it was the way it was filmed and Jane was taken too much out of context. Anyway, watching it, I find her annoying, too jolly, too matey, too......
Omg that Jane is so irritating. Like a bottle of syrup. Nosy and getting in everybody’s business. She calls another person cherub and I’m gonna scream!
Love Jane. She is a kind person, with a great helping heart. 💓💓💓 The rest of the team are also brilliant. I'm addicted to this chanel

I used to drive a van and sadly I saw a blanket over a young boy l hate seeing young people die so young.
Love Jane definitely a beautiful soul
Jane is a real tonic. Just what every A &E needs.

Did you just copy this comment word for word from the other person? 🤦♂️

Volunteer Jane is a doll; what an asset she is. (I volunteered at a major hospital in Ca. in the early 90s. I enjoyed it.)
My family were miners. Some never left the mines. God bless them.

Jane is awesome. What a lovely lady. ☺
Jane you are an angel 👼💕🎄
Normally hospitals aren’t pleasurable but this one is lovely stuff and doctors love watching it
What a nice calm loving grandmother.
Jane is one in a million!
Miss Jane you are such a Special person. ❤❤
Jane is a jewel. ❤️❤️
Superb post. Love this show.
God bless Jane 🙏💗 makes patients and work team feel good
I agree with you, Jane. If my toes are cold, then I'm cold.
Great job everyone!
VOLUNTEER JANE IS A GEM....
Fascinating to see the difference between one of these departments and their counterparts in the USA. It’s like a war zone here.
I’m a retired RN of 42 yrs! A&E makes USA look pathetic!
Here in Australia, they have the same red socks with non slip dots on them.
Great hospital care.
I absolutely love Jane she makes it fun to work with her. I wish we had a Jane in our hospital.
I am watching these shows while I am battling Covid. Go figure!
Thank you!
Thank you so much!
AWESOME SOCKS!

I swear here in the USA, they run with the gurney and it seems so chaotic. 🤣
That ER couldn't run with out Jane!! The nurses and aids don't have time to make the patience comterful
We have the same socks in Flinders Medical Hospital, South Australia
I lived in Barnsley, so I know this hospital, and I also lived in Modbury North, so I know Flinders Hospital. Small world.

The color of the socks means something, it lets the staff know what to do or what not to, its not just fashionesque

13:00 that inhaler, how do they keep from overdosing?
There would be a specific dose/amount of medication in the inhaler. Enough to help, but not enough to cause harm.
@@pennyjones4954 Okay, it seems like it is just flowing with no monitoring, thanks.
Very nice nurse to put socks on the patient
And she's not even a nurse, she is a volunteer! What a heart Jane has!
Sock color can designate different precautions. I was embarrassed to wear yellow caution socks after I fell.
Please don’t keep saying ‘The car drove off the road’. The DRIVER drove the car off the road! Let’s stop muddying the truth.

……painful. All that ‘Hail fellow, well met’ is grossly annoying, in a medical setting.
