A day spent hiking is a day well spent.
You ladies, pup and brother(?) killed it. Looks like doggo had it in 4 paw drive.

The nice thing about hiking this time of year is no rattlers. We hiked the Old Loggers Path several years ago and saw two big boys sunning on the rocks. Northern PA is great.

But that is no mountain! A wee hill where I come from. And good land stewards will always take found garbage out with them - including wayward wedding balloons!
Quite a geology lesson to be had on this hike. Rock strata shows evidence of tens of thousands of years of weathering and erosion. Great way to spend the day. Hope there were no twisted ankles of banged knees. Video was well produced.
Such a beautiful day for a hike. It's always easier going up than going down. Never figured that out. Lol
You 3 were having fun, exploring and discovering the beauty of PA....Life is not always about work. The Boss and Mom understand nature and what it means...................✝...🌄.......🦅

I live in Wisconsin and the highest point is Timms Hill. Just under 2000 feet. The third highest place is named Rib Mountain. You can understand why it's confusing and funny. @@beebjnu3906

This was a great idea for an LCLY episode. Now we saw the valley and the area around the sawmill - cool hike! In addition to the hard work, don't forget to reward yourself well and have fun in life.
You all remind me of when my cousins and I used to climb the mountains in WVa around their place. The memories are great. I love the shots looking down the mountain and how small everything looks from up high.

That’s what age I was when I climbed my first mountain in Colorado even then it was pretty hard , I could never do it now ..😂

As wood turner, I love burl too !!!
The pieces I turn come out amazing. Oak burl is nice, but cherry burl really stands out !
As far as the rock formations, those are metamorphosed ocean sedimentary rocks.
They are surely precambriam and deposited probably more than a billion years ago. They were uplifted during the Taconic orogeny (which created the Appalachian range) about 450 million years ago.
Very interesting, I knew the Appalachian’s were once the ocean floor. Btw; I think I was part of an Taconic orogeny once!

Awesome! When I was a kid my dad would take my brothers and I up the "mountain" at our family homestead on Larry's Creek just up the road from the log yard. The old cabin that's still mostly standing was built in the late 1700's, but there are ruins of an older cabin, just the chimney is still standing, and the root cellar of an even older cabin farther up the hill.
Oh to be young again. Excellent departure from the regular agenda! This was a pleasant surprise. Great job ladies!

Wow , all you ever do in your life will not amount to the peak that y’all reached today ,,,and if you don’t believe me ,,just wait till you’re all in your seventies and there won’t be one minute of this day and sights that you would forget ,,,I am a fifty year grouse hunter and have been over many mountains ,,just the privilege to visit such a lovely place is indefinitely unforgettable.
You Ladies are Awesome. Loved this video. I use to do that type of exploring when I was much younger on my hunting trips. I really miss being able to go mountain climbing like I use to. I got to help on a log mill one time and loved it. I am a retired carpenter and still love making things with wood. I turn wood and love making Bowls with different wood burls. Keep up the great work videos you do and I will continue to watch them 😁 Love that you are a family owned and operated small business. Keep smiling 😊. A friend Rick.
