    They have been together for 30+ years and play like the old bands of the late 60's and 70's. What showmanship as well!! Hey love the young guns, but this AARP band is letting you know don't you dare forget about us!!! So glad they are now having some success and able to give up their day jobs and work on the music that they clearly love and man when was the last time I heard riffs like that!!!! Absolutely a great request and thank you for reacting to them!!!

    Fantastic band and song, these guys have been around for about 30 years and have a huge (and incredibly consistently strong) discography. Really recommend you try their tracks Great Lord of Terror and The Colour Out of Space. If you're a fan of fat groovy no nonsense riffs these guys are the best.

    Ningen Isu is Japan's Black Sabbath/Dio. They're together for 30 over years, touring Europe in 2019: the band goes from Prog and Hard Rock to Heavy Metal/Doom Metal. Lyrics based on Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovercraft, Buddhism, Humor, Eroticism, History. The bassist Suzuki is a haunting monk probably from the underworld (white colour in Japanese culture symbolizes death, specially a very white face or person: ghosts, the supernatural). The guitar player/vocalist Wajima is a Meijei Master (a professor that taught many subjects includying Martial Arts) and the drummer Nakajima is a Yakuza member as they use to wear in a 70's style.

    Tony iommi also plays sg and doesn't have a thin tone. I don't think sgs have thin tone.

    • @Baldmann
      @Baldmann  5 років тому

      I do think SG's have a thin tone. They certainly do not provide tones as thick as other guitars do.

    • @TheRealFrankWizza
      @TheRealFrankWizza 5 років тому

      @@Baldmann I disagree. I think something we can both agree sounds thin is a tele,

    • @Baldmann
      @Baldmann  5 років тому

      "I disagree. I think something we can both agree sounds thin is a tele,"
      I disagree. Certain tele's can have a thin tone, but tele's with humbuckers can have thick robust tones. A standard tele can sound thin, but there are some killer sounding tele's with humbuckers that I would take over an SG any day. Tele's also don't tend to have the tuning stability issues of an SG.

    • @TheRealFrankWizza
      @TheRealFrankWizza 5 років тому

      @@Baldmann A tele with humbuckers sounds nothing like a tele, but at least it's capable of thick sg like sound in that case. Once you lose the single coil with metal baseplate, it becomes a telecaster shaped guitar, without tele sound. I guess you could thin out the sg if you adapted the tele pickup to fit.
      If you run into tuning stability issues on gibson, you can usually resolve that by rubbing the string through the nut, like a file. Those tuning issues usually go away when the nut breaks in.
      I realize the sg is physically thin but that has little effect on the way it sounds. The majority of a guitars tone comes from the neck wood and thickness, plus the pickups, also if it has a trem things change because of the strings. The neck and pickups, for the most part are the same as the les paul.

    • @Baldmann
      @Baldmann  5 років тому

      " A tele with humbuckers sounds nothing like a tele, "
      It's still a tele, and my point still stands.
      "but at least it's capable of thick sg like sound in that case"
      As previously stated, I do not feel that SG's have a thick tone. They are not single coil Strat thin tones, but they are thinner than alot of other guitar shapes.
      "If you run into tuning stability issues on gibson, you can usually resolve that by rubbing the string through the nut, like a file. Those tuning issues usually go away when the nut breaks in. "
      Even with a well worn nut, SG's still have tuning stability issues. They certainly have them more than other guitar styles. It's well known, and I am not the first to say it.
      " realize the sg is physically thin but that has little effect on the way it sounds"
      This is simply not true. The body, and it's thickness does have a major effect on tone.
      "The majority of a guitars tone comes from the neck wood and thickness,"
      This is incorrect. The body, and pick ups affect tone more than the neck. The tone woods, thickness, and if it is solid, semi hollow, or hollow body affect the tone more than the neck does. The SG may use the same pick ups of a Les Paul, but it doesn't have the same thick, rich tone, or natural sustain. The body shape, and thickness are a big reason why.
