Xfinity is somewhat accessible, arca not so much, “ASA” not so much FLO is helping these days but there is a leadership vision that’s missing- “they” don’t make heroes out of career arca drivers or whatever. But xfinity is WAY more exciting to watch than cup week in, week out. If they got rid of stages it might surpass cup for spectator enjoyment of racing. “They” just need to make some heroes and sell some tickets. Leadership vision can do that. Maybe there are some lower tier heroes there but the hornady levels don’t seem to be their right now.
I love watching Xfinity and trucks on tv from my couch/recliner, but If I'm paying to go to a race, I'm only going to Cup. You ain't lying...and neither is Corey.

Watching a lot of the Truck and Xfinity Series and its very evident that the stands are very bare for those races. He and his sponsors will 100% get a lot more eyeballs on them running a partial Cup schedule as opposed to running full time on either Friday or Saturday. Its a shame because those series are still awesome, but that's the reality. The money and eyeballs are firmly on Sunday.
I’d rather win races on Friday or Saturdays than run 25th on a part time schedule on Sundays. You can build a Hall of Fame career on Saturdays or Fridays.
I had Xfinity Series starts I only finished eight of those 11 Starks my best finish was floors now I would run Sportsman series and what used to be called All Pro Series all around as much as I could it would make more money then I would run an Xfinity
That's the problem with the lower series , no body is watching . it a shame lots of good racing in Xfinity and Truck. Something else Nascar needs to fix. they are cups future drivers. If nobody is watching it will be imposable to find the money to run. Then we have the problem of future only drivers with rich dad's get to cup . Money not talent.
Sometimes Truth can be painful. But I thank you for your experience & honesty. I will say that there were weeks when I looked forward to the XFINITY talent & Truck talent than I did the Cup Race!! Much Love Brother. ✌️
Corey would still have a full time cup ride if he didnt cause so many dam wrecks an take a good finish Corey's had plenty of chances an 8 out of 10 times he takes a top 15 top 20 an turns it into a dnf or 50 laps down carson hocevar will be right behind him if he isnt careful
Corey would still have a full-time ride if he would just be humble and grateful for opportunities he got instead of always act like he is some top-tier driver and fan-favorite.
Damn when it was Winston, Busch, Craftsman, and ARCA on The Nashville Network the whole freaking weekend starting with Friday night was a party. We did a lot of camping back then and I couldn’t get the satellite dish set up quick enough after spotting the camper with a clear southwest clearing through the trees. Cup qualifying kicked off the first beer of the weekend. Where have all the good times gone?
3:45 Kenny, give yourself more credit. You went bumper to bumper with Bobby Labonte for the championship in 1991 in the Busch (now Xfinity Series). You might not have gotten the top notch opportunities that your rivals got, but that does *NOT* make you a B-level driver. It wasn’t like you were some pay driver, or you mainly got your chance because you were one of Rusty’s brothers. Cup teams took a chance on you because you were obviously Cup worthy. Same goes for your brother Mike (who Carl Long was willing to let him drive the Daytona 500 for this year, let’s not forget).
What I enjoyed about the Busch and Craftsman Truck Series was regular drivers raced against the Winston Cup drivers at the tracks the Cup Series raced. What also made the Busch and Trucks series watchable was the different race tracks those series went to and the Winston Cup series didn't go to
I don't understand why there is so much controversy about this. Anyone who has been around NASCAR for awhile knows you and Corie are absolutely right. The big show is where the big bucks are. The other series are meant for driver development and to give NASCAR an exposure in smaller markets. However, I saw some amazing racing in both the truck and Xfinity series at Gateway and on TV. I feel that they are overlooked by far too many fans. While I am here, I want to just say that the Wallace Family Tribute race was the most fun I had at a race. The crowd was pumped. It was a special day.
His dad Randy will like a word Corey. I love all three series and others in Nascar. Not all drivers work out in cup and found success in xfinity and trucks. If Allgaeir is happy to race in Xfinitty then so beat it.
First of all Corey isn't good enough for cup , What has he done ? And to say that about Xfinity ? Absolutely crazy , If he really wanted to prove himself he would go there and show he can drive ! Guess he doesn't want to hone his craft at all ! Custer did it , Nemachek did it etc .. Yet Corey wants to stay in the Cup series when he hasn't at all earned his way to be there !!!
Well yes, but why not go down to Xfinity and continue your career and possibly get another Cup ride that is not awful. Spire was a decent ride and he blew it.
I think the main reason the Xfinity series is struggling to have fans in the stands is because there's only about 3 or 4 cars that can win on a regular basis, and the rest just hope to get lucky. Even I get tired of tuning in to watch every week knowing that.
Attendance - Corey LaJoie is correct but he didn't mention Xfinity Trucks have about 1/3.5 tv ratings of Cup. "Nobody cares" seems kind of strong. And money isn't everything, as long as you have enough to were you don't have to worry about being able to pay the bills. Easier said than done! Interesting comments by Corey seeing that his Dad has 2 Xfinity championships and little Cup stats. The Dick Trickle quote is the correct answer to the topic.
Man this makes me so sad… I started watching the series regularly last year and became hooked… I only ever got into watching the Xfinity series and (i go to Phoenix and Las Vegas both times last year and plan to this year)… i do it to support My favorite driver- Anthony Alfredo who definitely doesn’t get the recognition or respect in my opinion. He drives twice a year in cup at Daytona and Talladega. I really hope he will come up to the cup because I really want to see him succeed.
I agree with you Kenny Wallace. Running the Cup Series are the reason most of the drivers are elite in what they do. As someone that runs the Xfinity cars on iRacing, the racing is a lot of fun over there.
Let's really be honest! The money is in the cup series. Or at least it used to be. You got dirt racers earning more than some cup guys. The money may be in cup. But the good racing has been the xfinity series since they pulled the hp in the cup. And this nex-gen car has been the biggest mistakes. The car is so bad, they have to tailor the schedule to suit it. Any car that's hit the track with known safety concerns and ended careers should have never been deployed. I live between Kansas and Texas, I'd rather see a Saturday race before I'd waist my money and time on Sunday. And why are we really worried about anything corey has to say any way? Just my humble opinion.. stay safe everyone!
@North-101-Racing I agreed the money is in cup. Driver salaries are far less than they were 15 years ago. But the xfinity series has a better quality race package
@@adamgrimes7455 dude, have you not heard what I said? The Daytona 500 will be 30 million to win next Month, largest purse in motorsports!..glad am attending that race dispite it sold out.
Never understood when I have traveled to races for over 30 years that no one is at the Saturday race? Why the hell are you in town if you’re not watching racing! The competitive level within Xfinity has been very strong for 20+ years and great to watch.
I do believe that it would be wise of NASCAR to rethink limiting cup drivers from running Xfinity and truck races. In the early 2000's there was not an attendance issue at these races because a lot of the cup drivers were racing on Friday and Saturday also. Put the stars back in the show and the sponsors and fans will also come. Look what happened when the Budweiser 8 and Jr came back for Florence..... Just my 2 cents.
I think kicking out the cup drivers had a bad effect, honestly I haven't watched an NXS race in a long time. its because the kyles, brad and others aren't in the race.
Putting a limit on the number of races has been detrimental and it'd be even worse if NASCAR did what a lot of fans want and completely kicked the Cup Series drivers out of the lower series
@@North-101-Racing That's correct but NASCAR did make a compromise and limited the number of races not that they should have But something had to be done because of the playoffs so cup series drivers driving for cup series teams like Kyle was with jgr winning just about every week
@@johnhaas2523They should allow Xfinity drivers to score points if Cup drivers finish in the stage points and if they win, give winner’s points to the highest finishing Xfinity Guy, just not the 5 bonus points and playoff spot.
Kenny, the difference is you’re respected by other drivers with multiple wins and 170+ top tens in Xfinity. Corey is just arrogant with no track cred. The problem isn’t what he said, It’s who said it. He should just be thankful to get the opportunity to drive anywhere.
I went to the first truck race at RIR when it would seat 121,000 on Thursday night. Great race. Went back on Friday for Cup qualifying and the Busch race. This was when some Cup drivers would run Busch. Great race. Stands were full from turn 4 down to turn 1. Back stretch was empty. Back stretch stands are gone now and they can't sell out what's left. Haven't been to a race in about 15 years. Haven't watched a complete race on TV in 4 to 5 years.
Used to love trucks and Xfintiy. Can’t say why but it’s lost something, maybe it’s missing cup drivers, I really don’t know. But whatever Corey has set his heart to is the direction he should go. I’m a fan I’ll watch wherever he is. He’s one of the last drivers in the sport I pull for. Hopefully I can find someone else soon if his full time career has come to an end

I have met Corey and like the guy a lot but I wholeheartedly disagree with him on this. Are you a true race car driver or just a steering wheel athlete? A true racer will run anything at anytime and throw caution to the wind to take the checkered first. There's guys like me, trying to scratch up money just to drive a late model at my local short track, and Corey is spitting down on all of us in the lower divisions. Not to mention that it isn't the fans' fault. It's NASCARs fault for never marketing the xfinity and truck series properly nor giving them the right schedules to set their own reputation. If you're asking me, Corey is trying to hide the fact that he may get his ass whipped in a truck. He lost the lead at daytona last year in the truck race with a handful of laps to go and got in a wreck. There's a lot of good guys in those series that have never had the money or opprtunity to go up to the cup level. If they got that chance, they would kick ass.

Biggest thing sucks no sponsor no ride or litter sponsor bad ride usally justin is a dam good driver never could figure out y he never went full time in a cup car
I love the trucks, and for the most part Xfinity. But that’s from a tv watcher,I have 0 desire to go pay a buttload of cash to sit in an empty grandstand, pay for overpriced food & drinks. Not worth it.
NASCAR needs to make certain xfinity races on Sunday morning. Make it a double header race day on Sunday and you’ll automatically get more fans in the stands for the xfinity series or trucks
Truth hurts sometimes. Corie Lajoie is a gambler. He put up significant monies to get the Cup ride but was blessed by someone coming in to sponsor him.
Hell yeah Kenny! Nobody dreams…man, when i grow up i wanna drive xfinity cars. Corey is one of the rare men that get to live out his dream of driving NASCAR. If its 7 races or 700 , doesn’t matter! Its what HE wants to do.
The truth will set you free, but like others I enjoy watching the truck and exfinity series more than cup, My take is these are the training grounds for cup, and just like major league baseballs farm teams are the training ground for the majors.
You're not wrong Kenny, and neither is Corey. You can't tell me racing at Daytona in February in the Xfinity race, is just the same as running in the 500. BS!
Thats true it's not but sometimes it's better to take full session Xfinity series ride and prove yourself and if can get a cup series ride for the 500 that's good also
Am I the only one who thinks the Xfinity series is more exciting to watch than the Cup series these days?
You’re not the only one they are usually way better

If you're asking me, Corey is trying to hide the fact that he may get his ass whipped in a truck. He lost the lead at daytona last year in the truck race with a handful of laps to go and got in a wreck. There's a lot of good guys in those series that have never had the money or opprtunity to go up to the cup level. If they got that chance, they would kick ass.
Your 100 % right and speaking the truth Kenny ! Sorry you hated TV ! I loved you man , because you told truth about what was going on , i mean it! I am going to say it again , i loved you man ! Lamo go Sunoco racing ! Herman the best TV race reporter ! Kenny on pit road ! Kenny out on turn 4 ! Lamo !
AMEN Herm!!👊🏼
Biggest thing sucks no sponsor no ride or litter sponsor bad ride usally justin is a dam good driver never could figure out y he never went full time in a cup car
He did at Turner, but that team was a fraud in Cup. Think the owner was like JD Stacy, a con artist.
Kenny keep racing, not singing lol good show
NASCAR purchased IMSA,... Ticket prices went up 38 % this year... We wonder where inflation comes from.. GREED 😮
You are correct on greed, there's a grocery store in Williston Florida is selling two liter bottle of Pepsi for 4.29 a bottle. They are nuts
NASCAR has owned IMSA since 2012.
@@kristenangier9673 . There's no commies here, just Trump supporters
@kristenangier9673 you must be a liberal, your diverting the issue 😮
@Ezzz-of3gr . nope
Good points Herm! Randy should be proud!
Kenny - you are a legend in your mind ...and in ours. No doubt about it.
I love the trucks, and for the most part Xfinity. But that’s from a tv watcher,I have 0 desire to go pay a buttload of cash to sit in an empty grandstand, pay for overpriced food & drinks. Not worth it.
Rockingham will have the highest fan turn out for an Xfinity race this season.
Kenny, I love because you tell it like it is. No lipstick on it at all.
I would pretty much give up anything to run the Xfinity series or the truck series. And I would run them with pride.
Not only watching kenny wallace but a sunoco ad at the same time😂😂
This is why I watch this channel no sugar coat
I just learned I have the most starts in the NASCAR IRacing series open. Pretty proud of it and I guess I can relate to the old Kenny Wallace now.
Through the years. I enjoyed Stand alone Xfinity and Truck races and ASA and Slim Jim All Pro. But yea, I love Cup too.
Allgaier would be 10 starts off your record if he sticks to his claim of retiring after his contract is up at the end of 2026
Corey Lajoie doesn't owe anyone any justification for his decision.
Kenny i love how you keep it real.
You're not wrong Kenny, and neither is Corey. You can't tell me racing at Daytona in February in the Xfinity race, is just the same as running in the 500. BS!
Thats true it's not but sometimes it's better to take full session Xfinity series ride and prove yourself and if can get a cup series ride for the 500 that's good also
Never thought I would be in a world where Herman is singing Dua Lipa
