Hello wade I have the TCL stylus it's ok I'm going to my a71 5g . That's phone kills TCL stylus in every way so I be turning TCL stylus back in to T-Mobile
@@Widebody20 yea that was dumb asf bro. For 450 you could've got a newer iPhone. Or a galaxy note ranging from the note 8 to 10 and still have money. I paid 180 for a note 10 plus unlocked. Go look before wasting money in the store
Motorola needs a competitor like TCL right now. Because hopefully it will push Motorola to actually start making better budget phones, the phones they have now are fine dont get me wrong. But there's so much miss potential they could use rn but they won't for whatever reason. So I'm hoping TCL can put some pressure on them
I hope so too! I think Motorola needs a better foundation for their smartphones - better screen, more powerful specs - and they need to expand the stylus experience too. It’s been 3 years of no change
Totally agreed. I bought the Moto G Power in 2020, and though I'm quite happy with it, I am starting to think about upgrading in the next year or so. Right now, Motorola isn't giving me much of a reason to upgrade, and I'm beginning to look at the Samsung Galaxy A series.
i slightly disagree the screens on my moto g stylus 5g and moto g pure are pretty damn good espsially since one of the phones was only 70$usd and i fully unlocked it for under 10$usd
Adding on to this, the successor to the phone seems to be the Moto g pure due to having the same price of the Moto e and that phone's only differences are worse charging speeds and in my opinion a really ugly design.
If they made the stylus as good as the Note 8 S Pen, I'd definitely consider getting this or a Moto G Stylus 5g. It doesn't need to do Bluetooth or gestures, but pressure sensitivity is a must.
I clicked on this video because of one word... Stylus. Yes, I really like and want a phone with a housed stylus. I also was pleased to see that this phone has a 6.8" screen! I don't take pictures, and I am seldom outdoors when using my phone so the lower light, while a bit of a bummer, isn't a no go for the. I would prefer a larger battery, but I am usually near an outlet so again, not a deal breaker. What bothers me is that I would have to change carriers. I need to replace my Note 9 soon so I have been watching videos like yours to see what's out there. At 74 years old, I am no longer interested in paying through the nose for a flagship phone, so I just might look into the carrier and see if they can temp me away from AT&T. :)
You know the weirdest thing? It's not like Moto isn't making great phones, it's just they're not selling those in the US for some reason. Like Moto in India has a whole list of phones people would love to have. $250 to $300 phones with amoled, 120hz, 5000mah bettery, snapdragon processors, 33/66 watt chargere and still that clean UI. It's pretty much what one could ask for in that price point. They also sell good ones for $350 too with the Moto edge 30 and Moto g82. I recommend you have a look at the Moto gee, g52, g82 and the edge 30. I have no idea why they don't sell those in the US
I agree. I really wish they sold the new Moto e series they have in India in North America because it'd give me a reason to upgrade to a Motorola. They look alot nicer than my Moto e 2020 I have currently and seem to be alot better too. Unless they bring those here though, I'll likely be switching to Samsung's a series for my next device.
I have one but have had the opposite experience when it comes to updates. I got the phone in June and it was on the April security patch, then once setup it installed the May security patch, and yesterday July 19,, I got the June security patch. Quite good for a budget phone. I most often use the Stylus in place of pen and paper. With the screen off, removing the Stylus let you write and save notes. Very handy.
Why the hell is no one doing a flagship or near mid/upper tier level, business style stylus phone? 🤷🏻♂️ It's ludicrous. If the Asus zenfone 11 had a stylus and SD support id buy one immediately, Samsung = no headphones jack or SD... Seems crazy to me that not one manufacturer is filling that gap in the market, despite all the supposed 'note' type phones that are half assed. I want a $400-600 phone with: Stylus Reasonable size screen SD support Headphones jack Ideally side fingerprint reader to avoid prints on screen Ip68 rating Good battery. Someone make this phone, I'm looking at you Asus, Motorola and Sony...
I wish that for the design of the tcl that they would make the bezels more of a thin square look like the Samsung note series and other phones since it is blocky and add a oled screen since artist like color accuracy when it comes to screens and would make its appearance better and perform better
I plan into return my TCL 30 XL. Bad sound quality low signal for antenna, some videos are freezing, slow frame rate. Google map and UA-cam on this phone glitching sometimes when you switching apps and coming back and rotate your phone in landscape mode. Overly horrible experience
So how does it compare to a Moto G Stylus? I've had the Moto G Stylus for years, but the battery is getting worse and the charging port itself is bad. Regardless, I am not sure what year this is, it does not say it in my settings, but like I said it is a few years old. I'm just worried about getting the same kind of performance as this phone with the TCL, not worried about any of the newest models or more expensive ones and any of their features. Thank you.
This phone is horrible! When I got home with it, it got stuck in a permanent bootloop. Took it back to metro and they let me trade it for a new one. Thinking there's no way it could happen to 2 phones in a row but before I even got to my car the new one did the same thing! I was very upset and I now have there Moto g stylus 5g 2022 and haven't had a single problem with it what so ever and am very happy with it!
10:08 have they had a security patch since you did this recording? Also the 4 ram is what a lot of phones have, is the phone too powerful for just 4 ram or it would have just been nicer to have a little more? Thank you.
I Have The TCL Stylus 5G & I'm About To Get The Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) Model I Have The (2021) Model Already Though But The TCL Stylus 5G Is Awesome I Love It Already
could you do a video of the other brands than the all big ones? i'm on a budget here, and even a Redmi is kinda top end, i need a phone just for apps, calls once in a while, and photo and video in a biggest screen possible because of my eyes
Just got this phone about a week ago. My main concern is this phone does not have the option to make the SD Card be the default storage. I talked to TCL rep, they said this was because of the Android 12 system. Not sure if this is true or not but my previous phone (different brand) running Android 8 does have the option to select the default storage (between Internal or SD Card). The phone is also super thick and heavy.
New Nokia phones have the same problem if l was you give it back and get a phone you will be happy with..it's going to be with you a fair while and the last thing you want is regret..Up to you at the end of the day..peace . 🙋🏻♂️
@@imwatchingyou6113 : I still have time to return the phone back to T-Mobile. I really like the Stylus, very useful. But the fact that I cannot put manythings automatically into the SD Card is really annoying. The Camera app has the option to make the SD Card as default storage, but so far I can only see this app that can do it. All others (such as Whatsapp) will just sit in the Internal Storage an takes a lot of space for the media (pictures, videos, etc).
@@Tiger9194 Very sad. So, what is the point to ve a slot for SD Card if we cannot use it effectively. Hard to understand that Android 8 has that option but not the latest Android 12. Not sure when this option starting to disappeared.
The biggest downside with this phone that I see is literally the camera housing design. It's so boring. If they made it look nicer like maybe a blend of a Samsung Galaxy a53 look and a Moto g stylus look I think it'd do so much better.
the stylus is good on the tcl but can it do a lot of stuff like the moto 5g stylus and like older phones like the samsung note like one notable feature i'd love to see on both of these budget phones for their styluses is the option for the stylus to act as a remote for the video cameras on the phone so that you can control what was going on
Hopefully finishing it up in the next few days! Anything in particular you’d like me to touch on? Honestly, if the Moto G Stylus 5G wasn’t so expensive, it wouldn’t be awful. But $499 full retail price are you kidding me 😳
@@TechDaily truly understand. For a budget phone I would expect it to at least be 300. So 499 definitely sounds a little beyond belief especially for not having a oled screen. I paid about 110 for it with activation when I went to metro. Also have to mention I havent had a phone in a while so the new line deal was perfect Yet I wanted the oneplus Nord n20 so was a little disappointed. Yet I've been waiting for YOUR PARTICULAR review so I'd know if I still want my phone or not. And if I should sell it and get the Nord n20
@@TechDaily if anything the main thing im looking for is quality of screen durability and power of gaming on the phone. Mostly gaming and display... I've NEVER seen a AMOLED screen and new the difference between lcd and led oled AMOLED till I came across your channel. I'm just wondering if AMOLED is more worth it than lcd. To that much of an extent because I can deal with AMOLED 60hertz, yet my screen is really not so bad either on the moto stylus
