I just had to get my apartment fumigated because of a horrendous cockroach infestation (coming from the neighbors next door). It got to the point where I was waking up in the middle of the night because there would be a massive roach crawling across my face. Can't tell you how many times I would wake up in a panic beating myself senseless trying to fling bugs off my face and chest.
Wouldn't be surprised if there's one in my brain right now.

*shudder*. That sounds like my worst nightmare OP.
Though when I read your comment I couldn’t help but think of the show Raising Hope. The character Sabrina would sleep with pantyhose pulled on her head/over her face. She had a fear of spiders (I think it was) crawling into her ears (maybe her nose/mouth too I’m fuzzy on the details as I haven’t watched it in a while).
If I ever had to deal with an infestation of any type of creepy crawly I’d be tempted to bust out the pantyhose until I either; moved, got rid of the pests, or burned the house down lol

This happened to me. A small beetle of some sort crawled into my ear. It went deep in and it felt like the thing was scratching its way into my brain. I had a good 10-20 people run in to help hearing my screams. Hurt so much I was convinced it made a hole somewhere. Best part, it didn’t die the entire time, kept moving and scratching till they took it out. They took me to our university medical centre and they couldn’t get it out and then took me to the hospital. Didn’t cost much though. Where I’m from it doesn’t cost much usually, plus I had this student pass discount thing. I had meds for a few weeks and couldn’t sleep, it constantly felt like something was crawling in my ear.

I went in for my yearly check up, when my doctor went to check my ear, he found a tick latched to my ear.
Not only was I grossed out and uncomfortable from this invasive thing. I was also terrified cuz ticks carry so many diseases and what I had gotten one of those(thank god I didn’t) but also cuz I didn’t really know how long it was there. I remember a week prior my ear itched like if never had before and I could make it stop and then it hurt for like 2 days but still I was never 100% sure
My teacher from gradeschool got a bug stuck in her ear as well, which died but they were never able to remove it and it affected her hearing
And these are the reason why I have a terrible fear of bugs in ears and basically anything or anyone touching my ears…
