Today I made and tried Indomie Telur Kornet also known as Internet. This is a popular street food in Indonesia and something you can easily replicate at home! Do not feat the canned meat!
To make one dish I used:
1 bag Indomie
Scoop of rice
1/4 of canned corned beef
2 green onions
1 egg
Topped with black sesame and red chili flakes
I thought this was do delicious!

Hahaa I’m Indonesian and have never heard of this before. Probably because I grew up in Canada. Indonesians have a way with words.... lol
finally an internet that won't constantly disappoint me.
Fun fact, the word "kornet" is derived from "corned" as in corned beef. But because Indonesian pronunciation is Dutch-based, we pronounce it as in "cornet" or kɔːrˈnɛt
I just had a seizure trying to understand how to pronounce it
The way she cook, adding rice, corned beef, the egg, even the plating etc, as an Indonesian, I can confirm all she did is authentic. Kudos to you, Beryl!
Yeah she took so much care to cook it properly (with the previous video also when shes making soto) kudos to beryl

Same in Indonesia. Aren't corned beef should be canned?
Where I live in New York state (not in the city) you can easily find canned corned beef all year long in most regular grocery stores. However, fresh corned beef (which I think is salted and or marinated so maybe uncooked is a better word for it) is a little more of a specialty item. It is either a seasonal item (for Saint Patrick's Day in March) or you have to go to a store with a larger meat section.

Corned beef is huge in Indonesia. Other common usage include: omelette, fried rice, roti john (sub sandwich), martabak telor (egg mixture covered in crispy dough and then deep fried), and perkedel (fried mashed potato shaped into a patty)
Rich Brian loves Indonesian canned corned beef
We eat Indomie in Papua New Guinea too. There's Maggie too but Indomie is so much better. My mom usually made the corned beef with rice but now I want to try it this way!
Ah! Years ago i picked up a variety of brands of ramen noodles to try. There was one that I liked more than the others but i couldn’t remember which one it was. I just remembered it had several flavor packets, fried onions and had a picture of a fried egg on the package. Now i know it was the Indomie brand and can get it again!

Oh my goodness that brand of canned corned beef is my favourite and we love to eat it with potatoes. So you like sautee chopped garlic then add the corned beef then little cubed potatoes (add a lil bit of water so the taters can cook) once the potatoes are tender, you add chopped onion and once everything us cooked you eat it over steaming white rice.
I personally like to eat canned corned beef with ketchup (it's weird but that floats my boat so yeah). Anyway, stay safe and much love from the Philippines ❤❤
Try corned beef with yoghurt and flat bread. Ideally, heat the beef in a pan, serve with yoghurt from the fridge and scoop the bites with a small piece of bread like a spoon. It tastes way better than it sounds.
Corned beef with ketchup isn't weird lol. I had corned beef dipped in eggs as batter and fry it in oil and then eat it with ketchup or hot sauce and rice. It's really good

“Indomie telor kornet, also known as INTERNET”
Me, an Indonesian: “aaah yes it feels at home already all of a sudden”
I love that particular brand. The bbq chicken flavor, omg! Favorite way to eat them: cook noodles, beat a raw egg with the seasoning/flavor/oil/onion packet. Dump hot noodles on to raw egg, mix like mad. Enjoy!
I live in Alabama. Found the noodles at my local Asian supermarket, and fell in love.
This may be blasphemous, but I eat my indomie with a fried egg, scallions, and kimchi!!! It's SO good!
Indomie mi goreng is wildly popular here in Australia too, it's in every supermarket and convenience store.
It's even in our military rations, and is the guardian angel of many a hungry uni student
I dunno if anyone's mentioned this but you can also mix the corned beef in the water as you boil it. The egg is also poached in the water after you take out the noodles.
Sometimes people add grated cheddar but this is to taste. The usual "topping" is pickled bird's eye chili.
Indomie is a little different from other asian noodles since they use a dark soy sauce that's a little sweet. This provides contrast to the salt in the seasoning packet. The added oil also provides mouthfeel and satiety.
Here's my family recipe for corned beef: slice 2 medium onions and saute till brown. Add 1 can of corned beef and mince it in the pan. Fry till really brown - you'll see the change. If you like it spicy, add some minced thai chilis. Add 1.5 tsp of sugar to the beef and toss.
Beat 4 eggs and fry separately, french style (i.e. creamy). Season lightly with salt. Then chop the egg and add it to the beef. Taste test (add sugar/salt to taste). Serve on white bread with mayo or eat it with plain congee. Enjoy!
I really like how you talk, your smile ,your whole persona 🥂
hmm i use corned beef for some recipes as well! if u find it a tad too salty you can soak it in hot water for like 30 mins, drain then rinse with normal water and drain again? it would remove some of the salt..
I’m Puerto Rican and growing up my mom made corned beef on days she didn’t want to cook a lot. It’s the first thing I ever made myself.
So we cooked the corned beef with tomato sauce seasoned with adobó and Sazón, with plantains fried soft on top of white rice. It was my favorite.

Canned mackerel in olive oil is the king of canned fish. Its fatty but fish oil is good for you. Tuna is the worse. Canned tuna is always overcooked. Its always served covered in mayo because its dry.
hi beryl, i do actually have an indonesian instant ramen recipe, its actually my sis’ but here we go! (seriously beryl, i was like 😭 every time you made all those msg consuming videos trying instant ramen recipes but trust me, this recipe is worth a try, i hope you like and enjoy this one lol 😢)
if youre familiar with ‘rendang’ (its one of the worlds famous indonesian cuisine from west sumatra), you should try this “mie sedaap salero padang nikmat hqq” instant noodles, it contains green chili sambal sauce and dry rendang chips some sort of (but im not sure one is sold in the us). or you can substitute that with indomie rendang (again, im not sure its sold in the us). unfortunately if both options arent sold in the us, maybe you could try some other time AND NEVER substitute with non rendang based instant ramen, because gurl, you wont try any of rendang goodness! but other that that, here are the recipe.
*1 pack of mie sedaap salero padang nikmat hqq* (use all of the seasoning packets in it, trust me, its really good, and i hope you could cope with the spiciness, but personally i love spicy food so yeah) OR *indomie rendang* (also use all of the seasoning packets)
*water*
*milk*
*shredded cheese*
*fried or poached egg as you desire*
*any of your favorite toppings*
heres how you do it
1. boil 1:1 ratio of water and milk
2. dunk in the noodles, cook halfway through (AND PLEASE never remove any of the liquids)
3. put in all of the packets (expect for the dry rendang sort of chips from mie sedaap salero padang nikmat hqq or the fried shallots from indomie rendang if im not mistaken) the shredded cheese (not too much so you can still taste the goodness from the seasoning packets), and proteins you like for toppings
4. cook all the way through until the liquids are almost gone
5. transfer to the plate et voilà
6. pan fry or poach an egg
❤️

After boil the noodles, throw the water away and fry only the noodle with oil on a pan, put ingredients and stir till dried. The texture will be more solid and noodle is more tasty.

The metal tab snapped because the "key" was upside down. How we opened it is actually at the opposite direction. Twist it gently and bam! It's opened. That's how a canned corned beef is opened. But using a can opener is the next option if the tap snapped halfway 😂
Highly recommend roast beef tacos! You take canned roast beef, and shred it, fill up a corn tortilla with the meat, and fry it until crisp. Fill with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream!! Such a surprisingly amazing treat
I am American and I have been buying the Original flavor of Indomie noodles for years (Usually in the 30 pack) from Amazon. The only flavor I liked better was in a variety pack a long time ago and it was the original flavor but with special curly noodles. The Rendang flavor was good too in my opinion. I never tried adding corned beef and will be trying it soon when I get my next batch in the mail. Thanks for your great videos!

Speaking of indomie, Beryl you should try making "martabak indomie" ( indomie omelette). Its so easy and its delicious to. Heres the recipe if you ever wanna try making it:
Eggs (dspends how much you wanna eat)
Indomie (of course)
Sausages (optional)

How to make:
Boil the noodle. Put the spices, you can leave the noodles without the spices but imprefer putting it in aswell^^. Beat up the egg, put a bit of salt. Then pour the noodles mixture into the bowl with the egg mixture. Mix it up a bit, put all the mixture in a frying pan. Cook it in a medium fire. And there you have it, martabak indomie! 6. Add grated cheese to the top, to make it look better
7. Then add crispy shallots and parsley to make it look better

This was a Beryl of laughs (I'm so sorry for that joke lol). Recently ordered some of these noodles, definitely going to give this a try. I don't know if it's a Canadian thing or just my family but I grew up eating canned corned beef fairly regularly lol Cheers from Canada!
You had the key for opening the corned beef upside down. In order to turn the key, the handle part has to be above the can not in the middle of the can... so you can keep it straight and wind the tin strip onto the key without it breaking. Don't know of any other food product with that type of can opening method. Kind of old fashioned.
Love your videos!
I don’t know if anyone here has mentioned it but the reason you couldn’t get the can open is because you had the key upside down. When I was a kid, this is how all coffee was opened, too. Coffee came in big cans back then.
Indomie is the solution when i'm starving in the midle of the night when i live in boarding house. It's simple to cook. And the taste so wonderful 😂
Start introducing corned beef as an ingredient.
Anak kos : "Wait that's illegal"
Indomie is the best instant noodles I've eaten yet! I love it prepared as instructed. Or add poached gooey egg on top to make it creamy
Your videos are SO fun to watch!
i love a quick and efficient video like this, so i can accompany you with my own plate :)
BERYL looked so cute at 2:59
Lol I’m literally simping 😂
Her swag should say..
Oh my gosh, this is so good!
The struggle to open the canned corned beef with the key tho😂😭
The struggle is a real thing it is not a good time😪💥⚡✌
It is so easy if you open it with the key on the outside. You'd never get sardines out of a can with the key thingie if you can't get that can open with it. A sardine can is kinda triangular/oval shaped.
Canned Corned beef was a mainstay in our home. You should try stewing it served with white rice and sweet plantain. Sooooo good!! Love your channel 🙏🏽
