    Great video 😊
    Your Pygmy sundew gemmae that I got from you last winter are growing happily (some varieties better than others).
    I'm about to try to propagate VFT from flower stalks and have a couple of spare pots that would fit in my windowsill propagator so going to try Cephalotus leaf cuttings as well.
    I have a Mexican Ping I'm thinking of looking into how to do leaf cuttings, but the rosette looks quite young and has only just recovered from accidentally scorching the leaves in the greenhouse a couple of months back (it's now back in a large fish tank under a grow light!

    Super cool plant. You say it's not a cultivar, in a previous video, but it certainly looks like the Eden Black to me! I've ordered a few seeds and have sown them, fingers crossed. Yours are amazing, and very vibrant!! Great vids, thanks for sharing!

      Mister Thrice Thank you, I agree mine definitely looks a lot darker than your regular typical, almost like the Eden black like you said. Good luck with your seeds!

      Each plant is certainly an individual and they can have similar characteristics to other individuals. The moment the tag is lost on a plant it's no longer a cultivar. Mine are even darker than the ones in this video.

    I have never known a plant to be grown in so many different mixes. Some all peat, some sand and peat, some peat perlite and sand mix, and ive even seen an all perlite which i think will lead to a plant drying out. Do you notice a difference from one mix to another?

      It is definitely interesting with how many mixes can be made up!! I used to do different sand mixes for my plants however most of the time I now just use a peat and perlite mix but vary on the perlite contents per plant due to how much drainage or aeration in the soil I would like. With cephalotus I use a lot more perlite and the plant has grown better this year. I have yet to try a all perlite mix which I’ve seen for propagations as water would have to be regulated a lot.

    Do you use humidity domes or heating pads on your ceph leaf pulls? I’m using both right now indoors with artificial lights. Too early for results just yet.

      I keep my cephalotus Pullings in my unheated propagator under artificial lighting. So I don’t provide heat but they do have humidity which I’ve always found helps a lot

      Thanks for the info. Mine are between 75-84F with 90-100% humidity around the clock. Hopefully it turns out well.

      @@billw.3156 how has it worked out with all the humidity any fungus or mold?

    • @billw.3156
      @billw.3156 3 роки тому

      @@Origmist seems to be working really well. I lost 2 hummers giant leaves but a more vigorous clone had 100% success with leaves as well as one pitcher pull. I didn’t have any fungus or mold, but I did really lightly spray the media with a sulfur spray at the beginning. I thought I would have to reapply, but haven’t seen any signs of needing it. It’s been about two months now and I’m going to be transitioning them out of the humidity dome soon. I did a few nepenthes stem cuttings that are in the dome as well, but not sure on their status yet. I am going to repeat the ceph pulls with a rooting gel to see if that speeds the process.

    If you want to have the baby grow some better roots quicker you can starve it of water until the top of the soil starts to go dry and it will make the plant feel like it needs some longer roots.
