Would be nice to see the bipod for the M4 make a return. I run a bipod on my AR-15 in real life, and when shooting from a supported position with a A2/A3 style carry handle rear sight and Magpul MBUS Pro front sight, I've found I can hit 18" targets out to 450 yards with ease, and 8" targets at 450 yards with about 35% accuracy. Rifles are a lot more accurate than people give them credit, especially the modern AK platform, which in the hands of a competent shooter can hit very accurately even over 350 yards. Also, just gonna point out, typically you zero your carry handle sight to a 25/300 yard zero. Means the bullet trajectory intersects with the line of sight twice, once at 25 yards, then again at 300 yards. I'd also like to see the wind mechanic they added quite a while back be implemented not just for particles and rain occlusion, but also for ballistics. I don't have an AK, but I do have an Enfield No.4 Mk1* which uses .303 Brit, and from what I can tell, .303 Brit seems similar to the 7.63x39mm cartridge, regarding ballistics, especially when wind is at play. I can get about 2-3 feet of lateral drift at 450 yards with a light breeze of about 5mph, enough to completely miss my target, whereas my AR-15's 5.56x45mm has maybe a foot or less drift at that range (and almost no drop). Even my brother's .30-06 has dome decent drift at 450 yards. 450 yards is the maximum range I shoot at steel, if you were wondering. I do have experience shooting at 600, 800, 900, and even 1,000 yards, but you really need a spotter at those ranges unless you're doing precision shooting religiously, even if you have a powerful optic. By the time you recover from recoil, the round has already impacted, and dust settled. When my brother and I first started, we didn't have a spotting optic for the spotter, and we couldn't figure out where our bullets were going until we moved up from 1,000 yards to 600 yards. Would be cool to make long range shooting in DayZ actually challenging like IRL. No hit markers allowed!
I only have one question. Did this supressor durability neft affect the vvs rifles? If not i see those much more valuable now. With how dangerous zombies now are, supressors are the main tool surviving the apocalypse!
The durability of all suppressed weapons in 1.13 hasn't changed. Which means you're right, fixed suppressor weapons got a good deal here and will last much longer :o
@@WOBO Honestly I feel like the suppressor east got nerfed way too hard. I have a PBS-1 irl and its a very durable piece. You can't even go through a whole drum mag without ruining the suppressor now.

One thing they should have this update done is attachments increase slots if it has a suppressor or butt stock but it will decrease when you have none or a foldable Butt stock.

Holy smokes I LOVE this. The only real important thing they'll need to do some day is improving the reactiveness and and snappy feel of the controls/animations in general. I feel this is keeping a LOT of players from playing DayZ and also make some prefer EfT over DayZ. (yeah yeah can't compare this bla bla but it used to be the standard) Personally I hate this as well since I'm a diehard comp player but I enjoy my occasional DayZ session a lot. Also we need near instant cancel actions for stuff like cooking food on a fire and similar, imagine you're getting shot in the woods and your first thought is to get up in slow-motion and pack that tasty marshmallow stick comfortable into ya backpack..
HOLY CRAP I'VE WANTED THIS FOR SO LONG!!! I hope that you find guns missing attachments, would be cool to have to build it out, but no matter what this is amazing. I agree! We have all these stock weapon attachments like AK wooden handguards lying around but most weapons already come with them by default, if not even better attachments
I like that the devs are making gunplay more complex, it'll be more interesting in future shootouts, as now the raw mechanical skill of the player may differ from weapon-to-weapon, which begs new specialization across different weapon systems and their possible attachments or lack thereof.
This change increases the value of a big section of the loot table, particularly buttstocks and handguards that players hated to see everywhere while not finding anything they could actually use. This change also adds an additional reward for running across the entire map to find all the best attachments. In many shooters, players love their attachments anyway and want to be able to geek out on them. Of course things will get rebalanced, especially the long-range accuracy buff. However, the changes to recoil and sway are very good imo. The crazy sway and hold breath/stamina systems in Dayz are my least favorite aspects of the game. I will take anything I can get to help deal with those issues since I don't think any other forms of the much needed reworks to sway and the way hold breath functions are coming along anytime soon.
I’m pleased to see how granular they’re making DayZ. It brings value to the different attachments and I welcome the additional complexity, it brings more depth to the game and worth to the various parts of a weapon
i do like the direction the devs are taking it, attatchments giving buffs/nerfs to your weapon sounds really cool. However id like for them to fix things like the railgun snipers and maybe the length in which it takes to get fully geared. ps thanks for making such great vids wobo

id like to see the AK suppressor behave the same way as the bottled suppressor, different calibers depend on how fast the supp. wears down 5.45x39= slow wear rate 5.56x45= medium wear rate 7.62x39= medium/high wear rate 7.62x54R= high wear rate i would balance it since you can put the Ak suppressor on weapons which take different calibers
I don't understand why they don't give stats to your survivor the longer they're alive and actually perform tasks like using an optic properly to kill AI and players, running, repairing, etc. That would increase a players investment in every character. Still keep the functionality re other stats but I feel leveling a player is a worthy addition to the game.

I like that the devs have focused more on making weapons feel more real with increased sway and recoil and all that, but I feel like that's at least partly made moot when most players (barring characters carrying 200 kgs in their pockets) can hold down control and not have to take sway or anything into account. I think that making holding your breath not instantaneously 100% effective would let these attachment changes shine more.
how often do you find yourself with too little stamina to run to cover/jump a fence/climb a roof in a firefight tho? stamina is worth more than gold and drains quick when holding breath
After racking up more experience, i totally agree with stamina being much more valuable than that 3rd gun and bunch of ammo you will never use. Ofc this can be countered with epherin stick for a limited time, but i totally think the game should reward better weight management!
I think the changes are good, so now you would actually want to find attachments for your weapons. However I hate the suppressor changes especially when they're difficult to find, kinda defeats the purpose of finding one. Well either way the game still really isn't getting the love it deserves, I'm not gonna start playing again unless something huge happens, which we all know will never happen. It truly sucks to see, dont get me wrong I'm not dissing the game, this is my favorite game of all time. It's just I've put over 9000 hours into it, its Finally gotten old for me.
I feel like suppressors are in a very powerful spot right now though, it's a no brainer to pick it up and use it because your gun is literally worse without it. I welcome the change like in rust where your damage is reduced by quite a bit for using it, but that's just me personally. :)
I like being able to snipe with AKs again but not having a scope shouldnt decrease your guns accuracy. That just means you cant get epic iron-sight snipes which is sad, i love sniping with iron sights. Its always nice to have attachments do something, you can always customize your gun the way you want and you have more stuff to loot for.
I agree, with irons I feel some of the hunting rifles should still be accurate so long as you're using the irons and zeroing correctly. I still like having a hunting scope but I'd like to be able to make a good iron-sight shot when I don't have one. It does make sense having stuff like the M4 iron sights and backup iron sights help with accuracy over going sightless as I think some people were doing that quite often to get a wide sight picture while only using the fixed front sight with no penalty, this patch solves that.
I have about 1240 hours in DayZ console .. My question that I always ask if the KA-101 or KA-M without the buttstock is better than with the buttstock... Everyone uses it without the buttstock
i wish the new 6x atog let you put any rail mounted scope on top as it would be fun to have the 6x with the 4x on it and then the 4x back up iron sights
Yeah it's strange isn't it. They had already reached a point where the game was actually fun to play, like 2 or 3 updates ago, but then decided to change every single thing that was working fine to something worse. They also always change things radically instead of just tweaking them, which is obviously a terrible idea.
Why would it? You can repair them anytime you want and if you dont take care of your weapon or mindlessly empty a drummag and a half, only you are to blame.

Its good that optics and suppressor attachments add value to your rifles now however I feel that the buttstock attachments need to add just as much value. Especially folding buttsock's which haven't been touched up on since the birth of the game.
I like the update to attachments. I hated seeing handguards, rails, and buttstocks always felt like a wasted loot spawn. Now it gives them some purpose to the game and can make my weapon more deadly.
This and the zombie changes makes me very excited about this game again. Say what you will about DayZ's dev team, they do a dang good job with what they're given.
Even though there isn't that much content in the sense of items and "big" updates, the in-game the changes they are doing too the mechanics is absolutely amazing and changing the game significantly behind the curtains .

Ugh! The suppressors are going to ruin again way too quickly. Bring me back to 1.11 where the game played much better. I feel like the devs are messing with everything for the sake of just messing with something. Fix the bugs instead of making us insane with these shock changes and now attachment changes.
I don't mind the changes they made except the one to suppressor durability. The changes to the attachments makes me think they are trying to be more competitive with tarkov in terms of game balance/weapon design while trying to keep the simplicity (of attachments)
This. 1.11 is where they should have stopped with major changes for good and simply fix the bugs from then on. Instead they made the game much shittier with the 2 updates that followed.
Actually makes it worse... Apparently having a scope on your gun makes it accurate without even using it... Not like real shooting has anything to do with how you pull the trigger vs Squeeze trigger.. An amateur with a M4 Full attachments will still have bad shots Vs a Tier 1 Op using a bare naked M4 will still have hit all the shots... Gun ATTACHMENTS should NOT have any "bonus effects" other than minor things as ergonomics, comfortability, weight, usability... The fix they needed in this game was character skills that increased over time, however it is a very small effect like 1-5% and is lost every death or wipes every 3 weeks..
well you can shoot the end of your suppressors ruining them. would that be better? so no longer having the repair option but just go from prestine to ruined because one bullet ruined the suppressor?
@@PathologicGaming pretty sure they said they were going for realism. Even if they were going for balance, why make a can last 3 mags? My AKM is suppressed, and the cans seen probably about 3k rounds, still looks/ worka like brand new when cleaned.
1:13 your math is wrong here, 0.00019 is more than 10x acuracy improvement for an AK with 0.002, should be 0.0019 before update ;) other than that, thanks for the update! :)
I hope you're not suggesting that this needs "fixing"....I believe this is what they were SUPPOSED to do the entire time, and now they're finally fixed and working....minus the suppressors, because suppressors don't "ruin" IRL, not unless they're using the straight wiper technique of suppression or reducing their effectiveness my fouling their insides, which still doesn't "ruin" them.

I do find the idea of reducing the physical dispersion of the bullets fired by a rifle reduce by plonking a scope on it a tad bizarre. Seems very 'gamey' to me. Call of Duty: DayZ anyone? Like, no real rifle has a grouping so small that they put rounds in exactly the same place EVERY time. I appreciate the devs' attention to tweaking things and improving things but I do wish they'd go a bit less down the first person shooter route with the function of sights. I can see that the downsides of supressors make sense - but I'm not sure if they'd reduce dispersion in real life either... and surely the compensators should reduce recoil and bayonets should impact the dispersion since they directly impact the physics of the barrel... Kind of bums me out that I used to love everything the devs did and nowadays i feel like I'm always criticising what has always been my favourite survival pseudo-sim

I have a suppressor on my AR that has in excess of 4K rounds through it, with no loss in performance . I don’t even fire the rifle without it .

The original pbs-1 ak suppressor used wipes so at least there’s some logic behind why it ruins so fast. That’s 40 y/o technology though
Improvised suppressor would actually work, the gimmick is that it only works once. After one round it no longer functions.

I like that the devs have focused more on making weapons feel more real with increased sway and recoil and all that, but I feel like that's at least partly made moot when most players (barring characters carrying 200 kgs in their pockets) can hold down control and not have to take sway or anything into account. I think that making holding your breath not instantaneously 100% effective would let these attachment changes shine more.
how often do you find yourself with too little stamina to run to cover/jump a fence/climb a roof in a firefight tho? stamina is worth more than gold and drains quick when holding breath
After racking up more experience, i totally agree with stamina being much more valuable than that 3rd gun and bunch of ammo you will never use. Ofc this can be countered with epherin stick for a limited time, but i totally think the game should reward better weight management!
I think the changes are good, so now you would actually want to find attachments for your weapons. However I hate the suppressor changes especially when they're difficult to find, kinda defeats the purpose of finding one. Well either way the game still really isn't getting the love it deserves, I'm not gonna start playing again unless something huge happens, which we all know will never happen. It truly sucks to see, dont get me wrong I'm not dissing the game, this is my favorite game of all time. It's just I've put over 9000 hours into it, its Finally gotten old for me.
I feel like suppressors are in a very powerful spot right now though, it's a no brainer to pick it up and use it because your gun is literally worse without it. I welcome the change like in rust where your damage is reduced by quite a bit for using it, but that's just me personally. :)

I like being able to snipe with AKs again but not having a scope shouldnt decrease your guns accuracy.
That just means you cant get epic iron-sight snipes which is sad, i love sniping with iron sights.
Its always nice to have attachments do something, you can always customize your gun the way you want and you have more stuff to loot for.
I agree, with irons I feel some of the hunting rifles should still be accurate so long as you're using the irons and zeroing correctly. I still like having a hunting scope but I'd like to be able to make a good iron-sight shot when I don't have one.
It does make sense having stuff like the M4 iron sights and backup iron sights help with accuracy over going sightless as I think some people were doing that quite often to get a wide sight picture while only using the fixed front sight with no penalty, this patch solves that.

I have about 1240 hours in DayZ console .. My question that I always ask if the KA-101 or KA-M without the buttstock is better than with the buttstock... Everyone uses it without the buttstock
crazy how dayz went to almost no patches (0.62 and before) to like patches with meta changes every month or so
i wish the new 6x atog let you put any rail mounted scope on top as it would be fun to have the 6x with the 4x on it and then the 4x back up iron sights
i've dropped this game years ago and the devs still follow the trend of making every update shittier than the one before instead of improving the game
Yeah it's strange isn't it. They had already reached a point where the game was actually fun to play, like 2 or 3 updates ago, but then decided to change every single thing that was working fine to something worse. They also always change things radically instead of just tweaking them, which is obviously a terrible idea.

Why would it? You can repair them anytime you want and if you dont take care of your weapon or mindlessly empty a drummag and a half, only you are to blame.

Its good that optics and suppressor attachments add value to your rifles now however I feel that the buttstock attachments need to add just as much value. Especially folding buttsock's which haven't been touched up on since the birth of the game.

I like the update to attachments. I hated seeing handguards, rails, and buttstocks always felt like a wasted loot spawn. Now it gives them some purpose to the game and can make my weapon more deadly.

Say what you will about DayZ's dev team, they do a dang good job with what they're given.
Even though there isn't that much content in the sense of items and "big" updates, the in-game the changes they are doing too the mechanics is absolutely amazing and changing the game significantly behind the curtains .

Ugh! The suppressors are going to ruin again way too quickly. Bring me back to 1.11 where the game played much better. I feel like the devs are messing with everything for the sake of just messing with something. Fix the bugs instead of making us insane with these shock changes and now attachment changes.

I don't mind the changes they made except the one to suppressor durability. The changes to the attachments makes me think they are trying to be more competitive with tarkov in terms of game balance/weapon design while trying to keep the simplicity (of attachments)
This. 1.11 is where they should have stopped with major changes for good and simply fix the bugs from then on. Instead they made the game much shittier with the 2 updates that followed.

These changes look like game improvements.
Actually makes it worse... Apparently having a scope on your gun makes it accurate without even using it... Not like real shooting has anything to do with how you pull the trigger vs Squeeze trigger.. An amateur with a M4 Full attachments will still have bad shots Vs a Tier 1 Op using a bare naked M4 will still have hit all the shots... Gun ATTACHMENTS should NOT have any "bonus effects" other than minor things as ergonomics, comfortability, weight, usability... The fix they needed in this game was character skills that increased over time, however it is a very small effect like 1-5% and is lost every death or wipes every 3 weeks..

Even if they were going for balance, why make a can last 3 mags? My AKM is suppressed, and the cans seen probably about 3k rounds, still looks/ worka like brand new when cleaned.

I hope you're not suggesting that this needs "fixing"....I believe this is what they were SUPPOSED to do the entire time, and now they're finally fixed and working....minus the suppressors, because suppressors don't "ruin" IRL, not unless they're using the straight wiper technique of suppression or reducing their effectiveness my fouling their insides, which still doesn't "ruin" them.

It's a lot of jumping through hoops to get it to work, but I used BCC Motion Tracking in Sony Vegas. I barely made this work so a guide on UA-cam would be best if you want to learn how
I do find the idea of reducing the physical dispersion of the bullets fired by a rifle reduce by plonking a scope on it a tad bizarre. Seems very 'gamey' to me. Call of Duty: DayZ anyone? Like, no real rifle has a grouping so small that they put rounds in exactly the same place EVERY time.
I appreciate the devs' attention to tweaking things and improving things but I do wish they'd go a bit less down the first person shooter route with the function of sights.
I can see that the downsides of supressors make sense - but I'm not sure if they'd reduce dispersion in real life either... and surely the compensators should reduce recoil and bayonets should impact the dispersion since they directly impact the physics of the barrel...
Kind of bums me out that I used to love everything the devs did and nowadays i feel like I'm always criticising what has always been my favourite survival pseudo-sim
They should hire someone who fires guns for a living and go from there...
