Olly fits the Skunk2 Ultra Street Inlet Manifold in black onto his K20a2 engine in his Type R EP3 without cutting the tie bar frame as well as adding a new induction hose from Tegiwa. Olly also replaces the injector seals with OEM Honda O Ring replacements. The Skunk2 Ultra Street Inlet Manifold has been proven to have the best horsepower per £ when tested by JCal in collaboration with Tegiwa. Not only that, it definitely looks the best out of any other inlet manifold (especially in black!). Olly decided to stick with the standard throttle body due to it not actually making a noticeable power difference for the cost. This also helped with the install because the smaller TB made it easier to fit everything back in the engine bay.

Thanks fitted mine yesterday and wouldn’t have done it without this video 👍
Ah man! That is so rad to hear! I am so stoked it was able to help you out!
Really detailed video, great work Olly.👍
Thanks man!
Another great informative video Oli. 👍👍
Thanks man! I am glad it could shine some light on this install!
Something I thought I might add was, I noticed when making engine updates like this, the engine/ecu sometimes takes time to make adjustments to the new parameters, causing irregular idle etc. I found this after I updated to a lighter flywheel after a clutch replacement. The engine had a very high idle for a bit and would rev itself to avoid stalling as it was a little confused with the lighter fly internals! From memory, I did a standard ecu reset (battery disconnect, which you already did!) and let the car idle for a while and it settled itself very quickly while it found its new optimum parameters. Not sure if you had any issues like this, but I thought I would share as I imagine an inlet upgrade could potentially confuse the ecu for a little bit. My ECU picked up and made its own adjustments very quickly and did not require a map etc, it just needed some time to idle as it found itself again that's all. Just thought I would share. Great video too mate, I really miss my EP3!! 🥲
The bay’s similar to the DC5. I’m glad you’re doing this because I’m in the market of a new intake manifold. Well done on the vid
Yeah, its pretty close. Not sure on the exact measurement differences though. Thanks though man!
Absolutely beautiful great job
Thanks man! Appreciate it!
Another great detailed video Olly. Just love your engine bay 👍
Thanks man! I’m really happy with how it’s come out!
Great video mate .. you covered everything pretty much 🤙 good content. Makes me want one now 😂
Thanks man! Yeah, it does look amazing so I’m sorry to your bank account in advance! Haha (just use my discount code to save your account from being really upset! Hahaha)
@@OllyRoss 😂😂 I know they are crazy money but thanks for the discount code much appreciated
Fully worth it in my opinion! It took me a while to pull the trigger! No worries man!
Hammered mine back when I was running a skunk2 inlet, I have a Jackson fitted now though 😂
Haha! It is a cleaner way of doing it in my opinion. How you finding the Jackson??
definitely looks the goods!!!
Thanks man!
Excellent. Look forward to the mapping video if you’re allowed to film it 👌🏾
Yeah man. I am going to be filming it so hopefully everything goes fine! Haha
@@OllyRoss I've got a cl7 but your car is something else.
When is your map, hopefully soon.
@@mohammadhussain3505 Thanks man! Mapping video is out tomorrow!
This sets of the engine bay to another level. Love it
Thanks! This is the look I’ve been wanting for ages! Finally got it how I want it! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
@@OllyRoss it is spot one. I wouldn’t change a thing. Well done 💪
Appreciate it! It’s actually better in person too. I do just look at it sometimes in disbelief. Can’t believe it’s my car! Haha
@@OllyRoss should be proud. I’m now need to get some carbon on my FN ahaha
Once you start with the carbon though… it’s a slippery slope! Haha
Do you ever do a meet up bro? I'd love to drive down n meet you, I've got a red ep3, I'm currently in the progress of changing my KnN air intake for the tegwa induction kit with the carbon airbox like yours!
I have never thought about it to be honest! Didn’t think that would be something people would come to! Haha! I will be at Japfest though!
Oh sick! Trust me… it’s one of the best changes I made for sound! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Good video thanks allot 👍
No worries! I hope it helped you out
Could you expand on why you kept the standard throttle body. I’ve just ordered a 74mm and planning on a remap.
From what I have been told by various tuners is that the standard TB isn’t restricting the car when mapped around the 250hp mark. You may see a gain of 1hp but for the price of a larger TB, that doesn’t seem like a worthwhile cost per hp. I have heard of some larger TB’s getting sticky and not being able to function properly too.
Installed mine today thanks to your video. Kept the original throttle body too. Just now having a knocking sound when accelerating in gear at the start.
@@mariostavrinou2560 Awesome! I am glad that I could help you out! The knocking sound is interesting though... could it be the inlet hitting at the front when the engine moves around?
whats the paint code on your ep3 we never got that in the states i plan to paint mine same color engine bay looks awesome cant wait to see what it puts down ;)
The colour is Cosmic Grey and the paint code is NH674P (It's the best colour apart from the Championship White haha). Thanks man! I am stoked on how it has come together. Yeah... Me too! Should be interesting!
Cool replacement for the push pin clip..where to get that?
Do you mean the ones on the grille and slam panel??
Yup that one..
So I can’t seem to find ones that fit the EP3 anymore. The closest thing I can find are these: mjcautomotive.com/mjc-automotive-slam-panel-set-in-red-with-black-bolts-civic-fn2-type-r.html
Tqvm..i really appreciate that 👍🏻
Just letting u know bro cos mine sounded unreal with the skunk manifold before I got it mapped cos it wont sound as aggressive when its mapped
Thanks man. I guess only time will tell if its the same for me too!
Sure u can let me know pal love all your carbon fiber n your civic looks well good
I am sure it will be in a video at some point. Plenty of content to come once the car is mapped. Thanks man! I do love a bit of carbon! Haha!
thats normal, when you map your car you get a liniear powerband =P
I'm pretty sure you have to flash the ecu after upgrades like these?
To drive it aggressively, yeah you are right. I babied it around for a few days before getting the ECU remapped. That’s why I left it so long to install it
ill be looking to get a new inlet manifold and fuel rail for my ep3, this looks like an absolute PIG of a job hahaha
Hahaha! Yeah, it really is pretty long! It has been worth it though!
How much have you spent on your engine accessories/parts mate? I want to swap my engine 1 day and have same parts like yours😅
That is a good question. Once I have the car mapped, I’m going to do a full price breakdown of the whole car.
Havent you thought of painting the inner roof black?
Not really something I’m going for. The bonnet isn’t in the best shape anyway so I will probably just get a different bonnet moving forward
where did you purchase that grill from
I got it from HZ Dynamics. I have a full breakdown of the car with links to everything on my channel if you want to know more 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Any gains with just the inlet and the induction kit?
Unmapped you should see a gain from the induction kit but the inlet isn't really worth it unless you are going to get it mapped with a 3" exhaust
@@OllyRoss what intake is ir
Hi Olly, I don't suppose I can pick your brain. I have a Tegiwa intake I am going to fit soon and there is absolutely no instructions for the silicone intake hose. I have looked high and low. The 2 small pipes that branch from the intake hose, you have blanked one off which I'm guessing is the breather for the engine block. Does this make a difference to anything. Also you have the intake temp sensor in the other pipe. I have seen countless videos where this has been cut so the probe actually sticks out into the flow of air in the intake hose. May this be a reason your car is boggy as you mentioned low down. I hope I don't confuse you at all and any response from anyone would be great (:
Hey man. So… the one I have blanked off connects to the IAAV that I have deleted off the engine anyway (I have a video on that too). The sensor I just plugged into the hole without trimming it. I haven’t had any problems with it. The bogginess has be removed now that the car is mapped. I don’t have any issues like that now 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@OllyRoss thanks for the quick reply. Love your videos anyway. My bank balance don't like you tho 🤣🤣
No worries man! I am glad you enjoy the content but I apologise to your bank account! 😂😂😂
What cat are you running mate?
Currently running the Spoon Manifold
This intake fit t Fn2 typer?
It can with some adapters I believe. Message @kaizengb on Instagram and say I sent you. They will have the answers for you
Dear God man.... That looks fit as fcuk..... Is the slam panel wrapped or real cf
Haha! Thanks man!! I am super happy with the outcome. The slam panel is real carbon fibre 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Looks well don't understand why you wudnt hit vtech in it the skunk2 manifold sounds amazing when you hit vtech not like u have to run them in should have bit more confidence in your work bro
I just don't want to risk it until it is mapped as I have been advised to keep it easy. It is probably fine but I don't want to find out the hard way! Haha
💯🔝
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Anyone know the current bhp?
It’s not got a map but has all the breathing mods. Maybe 209 but I’ve never had it on a dyno! Soon though… 👀👀👀
@@OllyRoss can't wait for it love all your vids seriously top stuff man thank you for them 👊
Thanks man! Really appreciate that! No worries at all! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Civic badges +1bhp
Did someone say notifications 😉
AAAAAYYYY!! Let's gooooo!!
It’s a shame tegiwa can’t put the branding on the intake pipes the right way any more. I’ve seen a few now with it underneath. Complete waste of time. Engine looks good now
I don't actually mind it to be honest. I am happier with the clean black than the white text but it is weird that it is printed wrong. Thanks man! I am really happy with how it has come out!
@@OllyRoss it’s look great against the cosmic grey. Annoying u can’t use ur carbon cover too lol it’s the same with rbc so I sold mine. Time for remap 👍🏻👍🏻
I did feel like the Carbon cover took away from the fresh look of the Mugen Rocker Cover though. It was great at hiding all the horrible flaking paint on the old one! Haha! Yeah man, it is finally time to get it mapped!!
Regarding the gasket, it’s skunk2 mate. The quality of everything they do is shit.
Haha! Still baffles me really!
Dude didn’t even drive it…
It is advised to keep it out of vtec until you can get the ECU mapped to accommodate the extra air coming in so I was trying to drive it as little as possible until that point. Plenty of other videos on the channel with the car driving though
Video come right in handy with fitting mine 🩶
Thanks! Glad you have found it useful
great decision. for future reference for any other ep3/k20 owner refer too this www.tegiwaimports.com/blog/?p=2443
also FYI, for ep3 owners, the t-bar section (radiator support) you can elongate the hole on each side to give you a few Mm forward
Thanks man! Yeah, I forgot to mention this blog in the video.
That is something I didn't think of either!
