Glad you think so!
Good stuff, Nic! I’ll use this method for our series!
Nice, thanks
You're very welcome!
We want a detailed video on audio editing!
Is there something specific you're looking for? You mean audio editing in DR? Anything you want/need me to cover?
Not sure if I missed this, but is there a special feature called templates or are these just projects that are saved with all of the settings and stuff in place and you essentially do a "save as" on it? It would be nice if they had a separate templates area that may be applied by defaults or prevent accidental overwriting after you create a new project using it. Thanks.
You did NOT miss it...that is exactly it. No, DR does not have "templates" per se, but this is how I do it to make sure I don't accidentally save over it.
Yes, just start putting all "the settings and stuff in place and you essentially do a 'save as' on it." I do save the project as "Read Only - (name of the episode) - Read Only". Hopefully that's enough to remind me to open it as a read-only file. But that's still no guarantee I won't open it like a project and accidentally add stuff to it. #beentheredonethat You are on the right track.
You didn't miss it.
You explain thorougly how to set up a useful template but forget to explain how to save and use it. (What is it anyway? A project or not?) The only specific issue you mention is to save the template as "read only", however not explaining where and how. - It's a pity. 😏
Exactly! This is half a video.
Unfortunatley, that's really all there is to it. You are putting "Read Only" in the file name to remind you to open as read only when you use it. DR doesn't have a "templates folder" or anything like that.
I save the template for a specific podcast, in that podcast folder in the Project Manager.
So, the "Solution Building" podcast would be:
Folder: Solution Building > Template: "Read Only - Solution Building - Read Only"
I "kinda" said that, but when I listened back to the episode, I did flub what I wanted to say. It wasn't 100% clear.
Hopefully, this helps. -Nic
This could have been a 30 second short. We don't care about _your_ template and how to make it.
@@mjklein What is wrong with you? He’s having a go, putting effort into his video, and all you can do is try a knock him down.
Fantastic DR / template information.
I really appreciate you taking the time to show YOUR process.
So many speed through examples that require 3X to decipher by watching 10 more times.
It's funny how things appear challenging until you understand the process and then wonder why it was so challenging.
Everyone learns differently. . .
Great job!
PS: Maybe more 10-15 clips showing how to save as read only and then open as new project. Maybe place that in a favorites folder? I haven't figured DR out completely. Although videos like this have helped immensely ❤
lol
Great video, new subscriber here. very useful info
Thanks for the sub! I hope it helps!
