Quick note on 5M > S (going by the widely accepted A/B/S/M notations), astra goes invincible on the spin, making it a great way to stuff those 1-frame invincible wakeup dp's. Prob something y'all knew, but just throwing that out there.
Reguarding mixups : any mix option that isnt straight high loses to dp and even mashing. Safe way to set it up is having astra~C lock them up in blockstun and do a "tk" jM to get the high/low from jA/whiff jB
This is good info learned her corner loop a couple days ago. But the high low mix ups in the corner seems like good options to use to open up for more loop attempts.
I think the thing I learned to get the dragon to always do the command is to actually delay the command you want. so don't push 5m+S but instead push 5m and then push S after. Once I started doing that I've never dropped a dragon input.
The tutorial says Neutral MS Button + Any Attack Button, but it's too inconsistent during combos, it almost never work. So, doing it in a quick succession is better.

There seems to be an input bug on the character where MS+A/B/S don't activate the followup from cancels, I find it SO annoying with some of the trials. Sounds like you just press the follow-up as a separate input?
There’s definitely something buggy going on w pressing both inputs. Pressing the follow-up button as a separate input immediately after has made combos involving astra extremely consistent for me.
It seems like you must do the input during the special flash which means you have to delay the dragon command in strings due to hitstop and cancel windows.
It turns out the issue is you can not buffer dragon follow ups during hitstop so when you are canceling a normal into dragon you need to press the followup later than you would normally. Doubt this was intended but that is the science behind it at least
I love Dragon Knight and she's pretty challenging for me to use also the weird timing of the Dragon's command is kinda making it harder for me to master her. But anyway I won't give up on her because she's my favorite character in the game. Great video man I hope you make more DK or DNF video in the future.
I have a problem converting off of a Fireball: I Airdash in, hit with JumpB but they flip out before I hit the ground and can connect 5B -> 2S e.t.c. follow up. Do I need to hit them later in their fall after initial hit with the fireball or with JumpB or is there anything else I'm missing? Any tips are appreciated 🙏
You want to hit j.B as late as possible! Fireball has plenty of air tech for you to take your time with delaying the j.B. You can either delay the airdash or delay the j.B after the airdash, either can work
Jumping B attack, or simply your jumping mid button. The light button is A, B is mid, Skill is S (or C in this guide), and Mana Skill is MS (D in this guide).
Me when grappler 4S 😈😈 Edit: I noticed that a lot of people seem confused on the little dragon friend follow-ups. As long as you issue a command before Knight recovers it will go through 100%. Do it too quickly however and the dragon only does the initial move without follow-ups.
She has plenty of strong routes midscreen with high corner carry and as long as you make it to the corner you can go into damaging extensions. I've posted a few clips on my twitter for ideas (can find link in the description)
Square and Triangle take longer to type and do not work depending on the controller you use. Point of using the notation that players tend to use is for consistency and it's easier to type. DNF even says A and B etc on the sides

Yeah that can work as well. There are a few methods that can help get the followup consistently. I just find mashing it out the most reliable lol

What is JB? Sorry I have basically only played Street Fighter so I'm not super familiar with this move terminology.

You can slowly piano astra's follow ups. Weird but true
ive been trying to intentionally mess around with air resets covered by dragon because i find her damage outside of the corner loops to be pretty low
