The first song in a massive list of songs I never got around to uploading. Here's a bit of EDM-ish FM I wrote back in February. Also, this is technically part of a scrapped album!
I find that the best music was made with such limits, we are paralyzed by the endless amount of options we have in front of us To put it simply, Cool effects easily get boring, but cool Melodys never get boring
It reminds me a lot of the filter chords I was experimenting with on the POKEY for some reason. To be honest it's sort of similar in a way it was generated.
I've been listening to this song for as long as it's been up and I never tire of listening to it. It really is a good song and you make it sound great to be playable on an AdLib
just a quick question, is there any difference in how a sound sounds if it's predominantly in negative amplitude or vice versa? because for some of the waves here, it seems like they're asymmetric for the most part
@@FLDE Additive Synthesis is something completely different. Allthough it is kinda simillar to what you're doing here. I was just referring to the internal naming sceme of the chip. (Idk if it's actually AM or just a combination of the 2 oscillators)
People hate on the ad-lib. only a true Chads can appreciate it and produce such awesome tunes. Truly chadlips!
Yea, two operators is enough for me
Average OPN Fan vs Average OPL Enjoyer
im still amazed how people can make such masterpieces on such old hardware

Very interesting how the scope almost looks stereophonic.
This is great!
I love these chords, such complex waveforms
Thank you! I used additive synthesis for the chords

Stat Maxed: Vibe 100
I agree
Wow, this is Really Sick!
Yo this is dope! :D
This is a nice OPL2 tune, and it has nice FM drums!😄🤩😎👌
This is the YM3812 Version.
Adlib Bluey Heller!
This one is really good! It sounds oddly familiar, despite me just hearing this.
Thanks! I wonder why it makes you feel that way
@@FLDE I don’t even know either. It’s a good feeling though.
I think I know why, because I feel the same way: The sawtooth-like chords really remind me of fearofdark's songs, I really like them.
@@noobtracker Yeah, I think that might be why
@@pschiptunes64 The beat sound like Spongebob Squarpants battle for bikini bottom whenever you battle robots
Wait, the chords kinda reminds me of hard times - jetsons
I have some YM-2413(liked) chip but didn't know how it works.
Nice
Did anyone else notice how the xylophone changes channels at 1:31?
I like the woodblock
Challenge: make an ad-lib track without FM synth, just using the 4 sines and noise!
I wonder how that could sound.

how DO you do this stuff?

shadlib would be like shadman, which is no good
больше интересных аккордов плз )))
Большое спасибо
OpenMPT or ScreamTracker 3 or something else?
MPT, as usual. Haven’t tested on period software/hardware, but I do have the means to
how did you do the chords?
Additive synthesis
@@FLDE I see
Are those chords AM?
Yep indeed
@@FLDE Awesome! This sounds just too good, i had to ask.
Amplitude modulation? I don't quite understand ... is that a feature of the OPL2 or is it a software thing?
@@noobtracker I believe they’re referring to additive synthesis
