I am soooo pumped!! I just tried 3 under after years of shooting split finger. The improvement for me was HUGE! My sight window has opened up tremendously. I know you talk about both styles.............but for me, I am excited to move to 3 under for target shooting. My accuracy has Jumped!!! I am still in the adjustment phase but I am hitting more bullseye than before. PUMPED!!!! Thanks Jeff! (I'm 68)

It is hard to explain what is going on without a broader view of point. Instinct is being, thought is being, moral is being that rules. Our flesh body and physics is guarded by rules of our dimension. when your willingness is strong and play hard(that said, you get to pay for what you want and endure difficulty), the instinct grows and mature.

I resonate with this even as a learning archer. I doubt I'll ever use a sight, the fun for me is just finding the sight on my bow, which is the arrow rest. But I'm learning so at moment im getting my stance and anchor set in. At moment I'm either two ways, so got to choose the best one. My course hopefully starts soon, and that will determine how I've learned just threw shooting and studying videos like yours. God bless you for helping us learners out.

thanks Jeff..this video is the first time i have heard an Instinctive Archer say ' you just know when your bow is lined up with the target. '
Anyone watching this video that wants to shoot Instinctively and are not sure whether they are doing it correctly , try this simple test .
Hold your bow so that the centre of your target is in the target window ,as Jeff describes .
Draw back to your normal anchor point and hold it.
Focus intently on the centre of target you wish to hit, ...... nothing else......!
Now slowly sweep your bow up and down a few inches across your focal point on the target until you ' feel' that you have found the vertical centre of your focal point on the target. (keep focused only on the target.).
Now sweep your bow slightly from side to side across your focus point on your target until again you 'feel' that you have found the horizontal centre of your focus . (maintain focus at all times only on the target.).You can repeat this cycle until you are satisfied that your bow is correctly aligned on the target .You are now ready to release .
If you have done this correctly you should not have shifted your focus from the centre of the target until after release .
Exaggerating the instinctive aiming method like this lets you experience how it 'feels' when you 'know ' that your bow is aligned on your focal point correctly.

Hello Jeff, just wanted to say a big thank you for the insight and advice you offer in this channel. I have rediscovered archery after 20+ years and I'm loving it. Working on instinctive shooting with a deflex longbow and planning to progress with a recurve once I develop good form. I find your tips to be spot on when it comes to shot sequence, picking a spot, and most importantly a reliable/repeatable anchor. I noticed I was collapsing on my shot after poor grouping. Focusing on a repeated anchor with back tension has brought my groups closer. Instead of getting frustrated, I remembered your advice to beginners, have fun, remind yourself of what you did right when making a good shot and hit that anchor! It's starting to come together, but I feel your videos have sped up my progress considerably. Thank you.

I hope what I have to say here might help some folks. I shot compounds for about thirty years. I shot freestyle with a release, 6 power lens in my sight and all the other stuff that goes along with it. I finally got sick of tinkering around with all that stuff constantly. If I missed a shot, I would be wondering is there something loose in my sight, my rest, are the wheels out of time, is one of my cams leaning etc., etc, etc. So I got out of the compound shooting and bought a Win & Win FITA bow. I shot that for about three years, but still had the same frustrating experiences. That bow had moving parts on it just like the compound did. So I had Jeff make me a really nice long bow. My bow has ONE moving part on it, and that's the string. When I miss a shot, there is only one reason for it. ME! Jeff is right in all that he says here. I have found that it is very important, for me anyway, to line up on the shot before ever pulling the string. I don't know what it is but it helps a lot to do that. Another thing for me anyway, is my bow arm. I focus on keeping my bow arm as still as I can until the arrow hits the target. This is incredibly important for me. It is very important to develop an anchor that is repeatable. I have been messing around with that for a couple of years tryng all kinds of different things and have finally got the anchor that works the best for me. In my opinion, shooting "Instinctive" is all about consistency. Every shot has to be same as the previous one. Don't just take for granted that your anchor is pretty close to the last one. It has to be exactly the same.I hope this might help some folks. And thanks to you Jeff for a really nice bow, and some really great videos. They are how I learned to shoot like I do. God bless you and your family
    Jim

Hi Jeff! I been doing instinctive shooting with split finger for 9 years ( Longbow)
Six months ago I been trying 3 under, and Gap shooting, and it feels safer to hit where I want.
The difficulties with Gap shooting is to estimate the distance to the target, one meter plus or minus doesn't matter, but if 5 meters or more, then it goes wrong.
I found out that from 8 meters to 18 meters I have the same Gap, so that's easy, and 24-25 meter is point on.
And upcoming tests will be to extend the arrows in length to even decrease the Gap.
So that's my next experiment with longer arrows and reduce the tip weights.
Im looking for my Holy Graal arrow, hopefully I will find it this coming winter( in Spain).
My Longbow is 45lbs and my Bamboo arrows is 45-50 in spine in full length, so I let you know later on if this is working or not, thanks for an excellent program!!!

@@robertmayer6866 okay if you’re going to build hunting arrows you can go with 600 spine and run around 225-250 grains of point weight combined with broadhead and inserts and for target the actual correct spine is a 700 with stock inserts and a lighter tip like 125 grains both being cut to about 28.5-29” and the 700’s will work for hunting arrows cut around 28” with up to probably 175 grains of point weight 👍🏻

@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 good I look forward to them like you can't believe. One of the reasons I like them so much is it took me so long with trial and error to figure this out. I feel sorry for guys starting out. I help guys here set up arrows a lot. 90 percent show up with the wrong arrow spine. 100 percent show up with wring tip weight. Carbons are a bi#$%% to set up if your new. Most of the time I end up bumping them up in arrow spine and doing 5 grain washers until we find the right arrow. It's always the same. And through a chrono we drop their arrow speeds 20 feet or more a second but go from can barely keep it in a foam deer to having contests on who can hit the pop tab off its nose. 20 plus feet per second only makes that bow louder. I'd take a wisper quiet 150 fps arrow over 190 fps any day because the deer will jump a 190. It so improves accuracy and hunting ability to get that dart flight and super quiet. Man I love your videos. And dropping 20 fps but bumping up foc does not hinder penetration in any way. But the arrow went where you looked
